Iraq's WMD Secreted in Syria, Sada Says

HOW many more of Iraq's top people will admit to this before it is over? This is three key players I can think of. Would it matter to libs? Not in a million years. WMDs, or lack of them, have NOTHING to do with their bleating.

Iraq's WMD Secreted in Syria, Sada Says

    The New York Sun
    January 26, 2006
    by Ira Stoll

    (EXCERPT)
The man who served as the no. 2 official in Saddam Hussein's air force says Iraq moved weapons of mass destruction into Syria before the war by loading the weapons into civilian aircraft in which the passenger seats were removed.

The Iraqi general, Georges Sada, makes the charges in a new book, "Saddam's Secrets," released this week. He detailed the transfers in an interview yesterday with The New York Sun.

"There are weapons of mass destruction gone out from Iraq to Syria, and they must be found and returned to safe hands," Mr. Sada said. "I am confident they were taken over."

Mr. Sada's comments come just more than a month after Israel's top general during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Moshe Yaalon, told the Sun that Saddam "transferred the chemical agents from Iraq to Syria."

Democrats have made the absence of stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq a theme in their criticism of the Bush administration's decision to go to war in 2003. And President Bush himself has conceded much of the point; in a televised prime-time address to Americans last month, he said, "It is true that many nations believed that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. But much of the intelligence turned out to be wrong."

Said Mr. Bush, "We did not find those weapons."

The discovery of the weapons in Syria could alter the American political debate on the Iraq war. And even the accusations that they are there could step up international pressure on the government in Damascus. That government, led by Bashar Assad, is already facing a U.N. investigation over its alleged role in the assassination of a former prime minister of Lebanon. The Bush administration has criticized Syria for its support of terrorism and its failure to cooperate with the U.N. investigation.

How will this ever be discredited? Well, I give the lefties about two days or so to fabricate some sort of lie about this source. Maybe they'll just try real hard to ignore it; that's what they usually do with facts.

    Great post!

They will claim he is part of BushCo, being paid millions of dollars to put his family at risk of death. And like all neocon's his money is more important than his children. Or they will ignore it.

It is really awesome to consider that saddam could stand up in court and admit to stashing weapons outside his country, and it would not matter to liberals...AT ALL. They would not miss a single beat, would not even acknowledge the admission. They would proceed as if nothing had happened...such is the depth of the sickness. As long as they are far from the decision-making process, it is quite entertaining to watch!

whoa whoa whoa....what makes you guys think LIBERALS would use this in a negative way???

this is good news i think. if we can actually find a legitimate reason for the whole war and this going on 3 year mess, then maybe Bush wont look like such an arse.

how can u view this as "liberals will use this to blame bush", and not "good, USA didnt act like idiots by going in there".

you really need to get off your "hating liberal" horse and realize were all americans here. just becuase some group of people doesnt like teh President, doesnt mean they use any peice of information possible to start trouble.

Three or more Iraqis also said Iraq had "mobile biological weapons laboratories".

Doesn't make it any less of a joke.

What's funny is the infinite gullibility of these fascist chimps. In fact, they give real chimps a bad name.

Thank you for proving that it DOESN'T MATTER. umdkook, please take note. They do not care that these ex-officials in the Iraqi government claim that the weapons existed. They will do or say anything to put down our country and our President. Is that un-American? NO. It is anti-American. Make no mistake, they are on the side of the terrorists and are eager to aid and assist them in any way. They care as much about our country and our soldiers as do the protesters outside Walter Reed...not at all.

OK it's crunch time. You're the leader of some third world country with a second rate military which has been devastated in it's last battle and the most powerful war machine in the history of the world is looking to come in take you out. You know that they won't stop until you, your family and everyone associated with you has been destroyed. You know that by the time they are done, most of your country will have been destroyed, your regime will have been removed and thousands of your fellow country will have died. You have the means to make your enemy suffer greatly by unleashing the power of your weapons of mass destruction. You know from experience that you most probably will not be victorious, but you can make them pay dearly. You and you alone have the power to bring the "mother of all wars" finally to the "Great Satan". Quick now, what decision do you make?

    A) Go down fighting with everything you have?
    B) Dig a great pit and hide your weapons in the middle of the desert?
    C) Call Smokey and have him lead a convoy of 18 wheelers full of weaponry over to Syria before the Bandit comes?
    D) Fool everyone by loading yellow barrels with skull and crossbones on them (hey! that's a picture of raider) and fly them over to Syria pretending that you are sending aid to flood victims?
    E) BC&D so that you can embarrass The Great Satan after he comes in and shoves your gonads down your throat?

Pwrone, you quickly gobbled this up. If it's true, great.

On the other hand, your buddy Raider has been trying to make everyone believe that the weapons were exported by trucks. If this story is true, and in fact civilian planes were used to move the weapons to Syria, you just posted something that made one of your neocon buddies look like a liar. Good job !

Actually, notice how the Israeli prime minister is the one who speaks out that Syria has them ?

An article in the Fall 2005 Middle East Quarterly reports that in an appearance on Israel's Channel 2 on December 23, 2002, Israel's prime minister, Ariel Sharon, stated, "Chemical and biological weapons which Saddam is endeavoring to conceal have been moved from Iraq to Syria." The allegation was denied by the Syrian government at the time as "completely untrue," and it attracted scant American press attention, coming as it did on the eve of the Christmas holiday.
It may be possible that Sada is getting paid money to say whatever, but either side on this forum wouldn't be able to prove it. It could be true, maybe not. We are going on his word as a witness. But anyone who was around a situation at a given time can always fabricate if the opportunity is given (money or some kind of deal of something) . This happens locally as well. Witnesses in a court case, can easily fabricate lies etc.. to achieve their goals, whatever they may be. (or get paid to not appear)

But think on this one; under the assertion of the Israeli prime minister's comments, Syria is another probable target for the US. It just goes to show how Israel says "JUMP!!" and Bush shouts "HOW HIGH?!!?"

Another interesting point to show here. Notice the only three countries that are concerned about all of this ? US, Israel and Lebanon.

Syria is one of only eight countries that has not signed the Chemical Weapons Convention, a treaty that obligates nations not to stockpile or use chemical weapons. Syria's chemical warfare program, apart from any weapons that may have been received from Iraq, has long been the source of concern to America, Israel, and Lebanon. In March 2004, the director of Central Intelligence, George Tenet, testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee, saying, "Damascus has an active CW development and testing program that relies on foreign suppliers for key controlled chemicals suitable for producing CW."
So once again, the real players in the game are showing the foreshadow before the event.

And I guess we are always supposed to take Israel's word over anyone else's ? Even if there IS a hidden agenda ?

Excerpt from the article that Pwrone was thoughtful enough to post for you.

    (cut-n)
The pilots told Mr. Sada that two Iraqi Airways Boeings were converted to cargo planes by removing the seats, Mr. Sada said. Then Special Republican Guard brigades loaded materials onto the planes, he said, including "yellow barrels with skull and crossbones on each barrel." The pilots said there was also a ground convoy of trucks.
    (paste)

I don't really mind your ignorance, I just wish you would be more thoughtful when calling me out on the mat. Also, this story had nothing to do with the reporting by Charles Duelfer. This is separate, but even MORE corroborating evidence.

This paper is bizarre assemblage of corporate criminals, war criminals and rabid zionists. Do ya think they might have an agenda???

    The New York Sun

The paper's owners include Hollinger International, the company once led by Conrad Black… The Sun was created to put a neoconservative paper in New York, where the only other broadsheet is the New York Times, which is often considered to have a liberal viewpoint. One of the founders, in fact, made his name by running a website devoted to attacking the Times. Like the Washington Times, which is valuable for its insight into US Republican Party congressional circles, the Sun often gets quotes from neoconservative newsmakers in the executive branch and in the Likud Party. The ideological view of the Sun in its editorial opinions is probably closest to The Weekly Standard magazine or the Jerusalem Post.

The new counts include racketeering, obstruction of justice, money laundering and wire fraud. Under the racketeering count, Fitzgerald is seeking forfeiture of more than $92 million US. The obstruction count against Black relates to the video that appears to show Black illegally removing more than a dozen boxes from the Toronto office of Hollinger Inc.(CBC)

Ha..ha..ha.. There's probably a few agendas at work, not the least of which is clearly evident here, unless one happens to be a King Bush worshiping chimp. Their disease has the effect of taking out all centers in their tiny "brains" responsible for what feeble powers of deductive reasoning they might, otherwise, posses which has already been demonstrated to be as close to zero as can be accurately measured.

"The Iraqi general, Georges Sada, makes the charges in a new book, "Saddam's Secrets," released this week. He detailed the transfers in an interview yesterday with The New York Sun."
