$100,000. to redecorate the white house?

Heard it on the news today - more than once. Seems like a very small amount considering that "high priced" designers seem to be vying for the job.
As I understand it - it's for their living quarters.

I think the Obama girls can bring it in within budget.

Just seems like a small budget. Has it been that way in the past?

Could be to replace everything after the Bush's cleaned house before leaving! I'm sure, for starters, that they took all the silver, linens and china that had the "G.B.W." monogram and engraving on them. After all, that wouldn't fit for the B.H.O family that is coming in...
Otherwise, after all it is just we tax-payer's money they're spending. And I mean... after giving over 700 billion dollars to businesses who have typically ripped off the american public throught the years, and no line of accountibility, why, what the hell?! $100,000.00 is merely chump change...

How about A.I.G. and they just keep on taking. They wrote the book on arrogance and greed.
What P****s me off is ll of the people being fierd from their jobs from all the businesses and corporations. In the meantime, the C.E.O.s and other upper management are remaining in place. It is sheer irony; the very ones that brought down the businesses are the one being rewarded. The "grunt workers" that are typically paid much left and employment is always quiestionable, teneous, but that work to keep the place operating every day by the orders of the upper echelon nit-wits; they get a cardboard box to empty out their desk under the watchful eye of a security guard, who then uncermoniously escorts them to the fron exit.
It is the American way, sadly.
