    Lifetime Fitness In Warrenville Illinois

Lifetime Fitness Is A Big Scam. First Of All I Went To The Fitness Center In Warrenville, Illinois And The Manager There Is A Joke His Name Is Doug, And He Does Not Care About The Clients There And How The Employees Treat The Clients.
I Have Read Where Someone Said The Sales Staff Can Hardly Answer Questions About The Place That Is So True. I Would Tell The Anyone Don't Workout Here. I Had To Beg The Sales Manager Joe To Speak To The Main Manager Due To What I Witness In The Locker Room. There Was Two Men In The Shower Playing With One Another And Doug Seem Not To Care And Joe Was Laughing.
Lifetime Tries To Sale The Place To Families When You Have Men Playing In The Shower And Steamroom.
So I Did Change Clubs And It Is Worst In Romeoville, Illinois And Please Don't Even Try To Talk To That Manger He Is Way Too Laid Back.
I Called Corporate Offices It Makes No Sense We Pay $49.95 A Month And No One Will Stop The Rudness Of The Staff And Men Using The Showers And Steamroom As A Sex House That Is Not Right. I Even Seen Some Young Guys Inject There Steriods In Them And Dispose Of Their Needles In The Gargbage. I Think We As American People Should Not Be Disrespected And The Owner Is From Iran And He Is Taking Our Money And Sending It Back To His Country I Say Be Wise, But Still Be Respectful....
I Have Terminated My Membership From Lifetime The Place In Warrenville, Iilinois Is So Dirty And The Manager There Needs To Go...

As A Time Of War We Don't Take Chances Like That. I Believe In George W. Bush And Iran Or Some Other Country I Don't Care. I Will Not Give My Money To Some Club As Lifetime Fitness, And We Should Not Let Some Foreigner Dis-respect Americans. Anyone Who Workout At Lifetime You Give Your Money Away They Have The Most Law Suits Against Them And That Club Is Not Worth A Dime And The One In Warrenville Is Dirty And The Romeoville Club People Are Clueless...

There are freaking serial killers who are American. There are crack/cocaine dealers who are grandmothers. It shouldn't matter that someone is from Iran, Iraq, wherever, as long as they are an honest human being and are working towards good things.

What do you think, the Lifetime Fitness owner is going to unleash a fitness jihad on America?

Re: Lifetime Fitness In Warrenville Illinois

This is from Lifetime Fitness' own website, and I presume that this is the guy you are talking about.

    Bahram Akradi
Founder, Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer & President

Bahram Akradi founded the Company in 1992 and has been a director and President since its inception. Mr. Akradi was elected Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors in May 1996. Mr. Akradi has over 20 years of experience in the field of sports, health and fitness programs. From 1984 to 1989, he led U.S. Swim & Fitness Corporation as its co-founder and Executive Vice President. Mr. Akradi was a founder of the health and fitness Industry Leadership Council.
He seems fairly qualified to do his job and he doesn't seem to be planning anything against the U.S. In fact, he seems to have embraced the U.S.

Here's another link that talks about this person more:

    http://www.specialtyretail.net/issue.../life_time.htm

Life Time Fitness founder Bahram Akradi grew up in Tehran, IRAN. In 1978, when he was 17, he was able to fulfill a lifelong dream by emigrating to the United States. After settling in Colorado Springs, Colorado where his brother already lived, Akradi worked in restaurants to support himself and to pay his own way through college, eventually obtaining a degree in electrical engineering. During his fourth year in the U.S., he took a job at a health club, working his way up from cleaning the club and its pool to managing the facility. When the owners of the club decided they wanted to expand operations by opening a location in Minneapolis, Akradi was asked to help with the move. He worked on selling memberships and was involved in pricing, in the physical design and in the overall game plan for the new fitness center. The new Nautilus Swim and Fitness club was a success, and within a month of moving to Minneapolis, Akradi was made a partner in the company. By 1984, under his direction of site selection, development, and sales and operations, the concept grew to three locations. In 1985, the company, with two more locations operating and two other deals in the works, changed its name to U.S. Swim and Fitness Clubs. The chainís success was notable enough that Ballyís made an offer to buy it, which was accepted. Akradi stayed on with Ballyís under a five-year contract, but he decided to strike out on his own about three years later. Because he had a non-compete clause with Ballyís and could not open a similar facility in Minnesota, he focused his attention on opening a large club in San Francisco. Unable to obtain financing for his vision, Akradi returned to Minnesota after his non-compete clause expired. He had to liquidate all his personal assets to open a 27,000-sq.ft. club in Brooklyn Park, MN in a location where three other clubs had already failed. Akradi set a goal to sell 2,700 memberships in a year; he made it with 2,702. Today that original club is one of the best revenue producers in the Life Time Fitness chain.
This does not sound like a person who is intent upon ruining us. Not to start a flame war, but your claims are totally invalid.

    zirchowvii,

I am guessing by your screen name you are of middle eastern decent? Do you live in the United States?

As you can see there are other Americans that feel the same way.

I have family and friends that have faught for the freedoms of the United States. It has taken a major toll on my family personally. And when you know another countries leadership does not feel the same way and most in the country hate Americans.

I as an American don't want to aid that country in ANY way.
Bahram Akradi, is sending money back to his family in IRAN. He is a millionaire if not Billionaire.

I HAVE met the guy. I would not call him Honest or Ethical either. He is VERY Arrogant and often "rubs people the wrong way".
Bahram Akradi, has a HUGE problem keeping upper management because of this. His values do not coincide with most American values.

No I am not of middle eastern descent and I was born in the United States.

I have met many people who are just plain old white people from America who are dishonest, unethical, arrogant, and do not have "American values."

You are seriously straying from the issue here. Is there any real proof that Lifetime Fitness is scamming people in any way? It just looks like you got burned by the company in some way and are grasping at straws to "expose" some sort of important issue behind the company.

Everyone in this country previously came from somewhere else, whether it was by land bridge, boat, or plane.

Why would you ever work for a company like that, if they are, in fact, so evil?

Re: Lifetime Fitness In Warrenville Illinois

Believe me, Bahram Akradi is not sending m0ney to Iran. I know him personally and you couldn't w9ish to meet a better person. He started this company from scratch and if he thought you had a valid complaint I guarantee you that he would fix it. You may not like the club in Warrenville Illinois, but the clubs in Minnesota and Arizonaare absolutely the best aroound. Beat up that club, and beat up Doug if you must, but until you have met and dealt with Akradi, don't beat him up. Based on your accusations here I can guarantee you that he is a much more respectable person than you.

Re: Lifetime Fitness In Warrenville Illinois

I once saw Mr. Akradi sitting in the cafe of the club I work at. While he was there, he seemed very nice and personable to everyone, though I didn't meet him personally. I don't understand why some people are so bigoted that they think just because he's from Iran that he's funding terrorism. He most likely still has family living there, so even if he is sending money, he's probably just trying to help them out.

As far as cleanliness goes, I have to say that many people don't realize over a thousand people walk through the doors of the club every day. Out of those people, a small percentage seem to think they're of some royal descent because they leave a mess and it doesn't even seem to cross their mind to clean it up. I understand that they are paying between around $60-$80 for a single membership at the club I work out of, but that does not entitle one to be a slob.

The staff that I work with are all very nice and professional, even though it seems some members can't wrap their head around the fact that just because an employee is a teenager doesn't mean they don't know the rules. The ridiculous ageism of not only members, but people in general, amazes me, but that is another story.

While it is unfortunate that is seems you had a few unpleasant experiences, I cannot speak for the staff at those clubs. I have never been to the Warrenville location, and I have only been to the Romeoville location twice. As far as my experience went, the Romeoville club's facilities were impeciable.

Also, did you cancel your membership after the fifth of the month? Lifetime Fitness does have a thirty-day cancelation policy, so if you did cancel after the fifth, you would have to pay for that month and the following. If they continued after that, you would only need to bring in a statement from your bank or credit card to show you were still being charged to member services, fill out a customer service form, and you would receive a refund.

Re: Lifetime Fitness In Warrenville Illinois

Greed is good at Nickel'n'dime Fitness! The management at Lifetime Fitness (Warrenville) are masters at ripoffs and runarounds.

Do not give these idiots a debit card number or checking account number for payment! Use a credit card so you can request a chargeback.

The first problem I encountered was when I worked with a personal trainer. I renewed my agreement with him after completing the initial round of sessions. He was fired shortly after I renewed and there were no other trainers that had suitable schedules.

I made many calls to the club manager, who would do nothing but ostensibly transfer me to the training manager. That phone was set so all calls went to voicemail. I called the training manager's "direct number" multiple times, and left further voicemails. I made multiple calls to the "customer service" department, equally unsuccessful. No calls were returned.

The way to handle LTF's lack of customer service: Call your credit card company and request a chargeback for non-delivery of services. After I did this (regarding the personal trainer debacle), I was refunded in full.

The 30-day cancellation business is made as difficult as possible for the customer. No cancellations will be taken by phone. You must send a letter by certified mail, return receipt requested or go to the facility. Regardless of which method you choose, if it is after the 5th of the month, you will be charged for the next month.

Re: Lifetime Fitness In Warrenville Illinois

Long story short: LT fitness stole $145.00 from me and is refusing to give it back. I had agreed to pay double up front (and did) for my first month so that I could arrange things in such a way so when I come home to Warrenville for a few weeks out of the year I can pay a pro-rated fee to work out for just a couple of weeks and then suspend my membership until I come home again. 9 months later, I was in the middle of a military permanent change of station (PCS) from San Antonio, TX to Omaha, NE when they decided to reactivate my membership without me asking them, without me setting foot into their facility, and worst of all--without calling me to notify me about it. They finally called me 4 months later and told me that I needed to send them proof again that I was still on active duty. So I agreed but when I went to send it to them, the e-mail address Merideth provided was incorrect. I called a couple of times over the next week and Merideth was never there, and no one else could help me. Then, a week after I spoke to Merideth, they STOLE the money, $145.00 (approx) from my credit card on file. I had never entered into an agreement to have automatic draft for my membership fees with LT fitness. Needless to say: I AM FURIOUS! What they did to me is against the law and the fact that the management staff is not committed to giving ALL of my money back is absolutely disgraceful. I don't pull the "military card" very often but Lifetime Fitness, how dare you? How dare you send me bills in the mail--to a SAN ANTONIO ADDRESS and then act like you didn't know that I was out of the local area? My rights were then violated when LT Fitness stole my hard-EARNED money from my credit card account. Earning money is something that people who run shady businesses like LT Fitness can't appreciate because they don't actually earn their money--they just take the money they want from hard working people like you and me.

Re: Lifetime Fitness In Warrenville Illinois

Hey everybody! How are you? You are half right about lifetime. There good people out there. The individual who signed me up is a good guy and really cares. He received a reward because of an excellent job signing people. I am broke and I went to him for help and he put my membership on holed and I can still workout there. If you decide to give lifetime one more chance, I promise you will not be dissapointed. My membership fee is $120.00 each month because I chose that membership. He is in Schaumburg and his name is Philip. If you like to go to the scahumburg Facility, ask for Philip. A really good guy and really cares for his people. He will give you guys discounts on massges and hair cuts. I can only refer you guys but u have to decide to attend. The other part - cons are there are people who care about themselves just to make money. selfish people. I sell health insurance and I do not want to take money from people who are broke. A particular person who I called told me that they try to get **, ** getting jobs wherever they can find. I will no longer bother them because I worry about their financial situation. people who are jobless are hard to sign up and I will never pressure them into buying anything. I am saying this to you as a salesman because there are hard working salesman who care about people. I am one of them.

I've been going to Lifetime Fitness for two and a half years and it's the nicest gym I've used. There is a lot of equipment, especially treadmills, and I've never had a problem getting on the cardio equipment. The weight machines can get a little busy on M-W-F. Overall, it's clean and well-maintained. I haven't seen machines down for long periods of time.
It's expensive, but I think its worth if you work out regularly and want a nice environment and a lot of equipment options.

    Life Time Fitness

Not taking affirmative steps to protect against privacy rights violations.
NEW Cell Phone Policy AS long as no Nude Man/boy pics in Locker Room, can talk or text on cell phone, even aim the phone at them, just don't photo!

NEW Cell Phone Policy AS long as no Nude Man/boy pics in Locker Room, can talk or text on cell phone

Life Time Athletic LTF Cell Phone Locker Room Policy
Life Time Athletic Allows Cell phones in Men's Locker Room at lockers, sinks, towel dry off area near hot tub, just don't take pictures or video. Men/Boys of all ages naked. LFT life Time Athletic Summerlin Las Vegas NV 89135
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
YOU Can use cell phones in men's room with OTHER men and boys naked in front of YOUR cell phone, IT IS totally allowed. - new policy after I complained risk of child pornography with men sitting at the towel dry off area and at sinks holding up cell phones. Cell phones with capabilities to photo on each side like an IPHONE 5.

They were going to enforce their no cell phone ban due me bringing awareness, but they did the complete opposite and lifted the cell phone ban; making a reckless decision, providing even greater privacy violation risk abuse to members and their children.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Life Time Fitness has always had a NO CELL PHONE policy to protect privacy of members of all ages in men's locker room, and in August 2014 they lifted the ban and changed their policy as I (on July 17, 2014) requested more than 1 sign up (picture below), (they have 12 slippery and wet signs), I Had cell phone pointed at me as I put on my underwear, and observed cell phones pointed in direction of minors who were wearing nothing.

I, like everyone else, see phones used by many, and people of all ages are in front and no one knows if their video or pictures are being taken.

They never tried to enforce the policy, and I see men at the towel dry off area and at the lockers and at the sinks hold up cell phones, and members of all ages can be photographed. Do you want your family member or yourself photographed? I'm not comfortable with this, I complained, and they said they would correct the problem, only to make it even easier for privacy violations of male members.

Instead of enforcing their policy after my concern July 17 meeting, they are changing their policy, making even a greater risk, new policy as long as pictures are not being taken you can use your phones; however those taking pictures are sly.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Effective June 20, 2014 (Policy on Web but will be newly changed to protect the gym, not the member, cannot prove if pic/video is taken, can not get cell phone from another unless you have a court order, they KNOW this!
Cell Phones and Other Mobile Devices. You may not use mobile devices to place calls in any locker room, sauna or steam room. Please use common courtesy when using mobile devices in other areas of the center.

Per legalzoom articles smile-youre-on-my-cell-phone-camera-phones-and-privacy states difficult to determine if your picture is taken because you're unaware.

THERE IS NO REASON TO PROVIDE AT LEAST A MINIMUM AMOUNT OF PROTECTION: Which if 100% saying and reasonably enforcing NO Cell Phone. I never seen them enforce policy, I was told they were to watch for theft (supposedly some members do not lock their lockers, and to keep eye on hot tub and steam room in locker room.

We have rich members and business men as members, we tell the young ones to stop taking pictures.

Truth: anyone can be a pedophile, or have desire to collect pictures of nude men and boys for personal use, or to submit to spy amateur websites. We donít know what anyoneís fetishes, sickness, or behaviors are by just looking at them.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No one is taking pictures or video is Life Time Athletic reply. But if they are, just report it to us.

You cannot guarantee this. The original NO Cell phone sign went up in Life Time Fitness Locker Rooms 5 yrs. ago when in a Life Time Fitness Gym, in MN, a woman taken a nude picture or another woman in the Lifetime Fitness locker room and posted it to internet. She never knew her picture was taken until posted to the internet as a joke, and she did not find this to be a joke or funny and sued Life Time Fitness, then the 1 sign No Cell Phone was posted in all the locker rooms, but I count 12 slippery and wet signs in the locker room. Life Time knows the risk in the locker room; they should do the minimum at least to protect members for privacy rights violations.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By removing the No Cell Phone Policy, after Brian Frankwick (Gen Mgr. of Summerlin Las Vegas, and is also the Regional Mgr. of NV, AZ, and CA says he doesnít know what happens in the locker room, he doesnít go in there IS NO EXCUSE, I came forward, this blog is also making it known, Life Time has obligation to create a safe environment for children and men. They are more liable removing the policy given my experiences made known, and are more liable because they should know better and know the risks.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fathers and their sons are unaware of perverts photographing and videotaping them, Fathers and their sons are at Life Time to use the locker room for showers, hot tub, changing, and are not aware of the risk.

PEOPLE ARE NOT AWARE OF OTHERS POTENTIALLY TAKING THEIR PICTURES, Often unaware of their environment, they just want to use the pool, locker room, have good family times, work on getting stronger and being fit.

Their thoughts are ďitís family day, Iím with my sonĒ Father still showering or at sinks, son walking/running around spa area naked.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
APPLE I PHONE can take pictures on both sides of camera, appears as if youíre texting, but youíre taking pictures and videos, this is what it appears to be when men are sitting at the towel dry off area facing young boys and men coming out of the hot tub and from the locker area to/from the showers. I POINTED THIS OUT!!!!!

OH, BUT MOST PEOPLE WOULD NOT DO CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OR FILM SAME SEX NUDE MALES in the LOCKER ROOM: When privacy violation is committed, it is 100% to that person, and maybe 50 people on their phones are not taking pictures, but who is to say if the 51st person or the 10thperson has taken video or pictures of members? I had a cell phone pointed right at my butt as I put on my underwear at my locker at Life Time Fitness and turned around and saw the guy holding the phone.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you determine that most members, or all members are aware of the risk of cell phone use? How do you agree cell phone ban should be lifted, obviously immediately after my complaint, my true legitimate concerns and experiences affecting everyone's safety? Is it the cost of the signs? extra time to send out free email reminders, or initial hassle to have attendants remind members to be respectful in protecting other member's privacy? Life Time Athletic made NO attempt to enforce their No Cell Phone Policy, nor to implement the outline per their legal department 7/29/14 email to me (attached at end of blog).

The posting of the signs themselves will lead to members assisting in policing each other.

BUT NO ATTEMPT was MADE in enforcing their long standing cell phone policy at my gym's locker room.

Having no cell phone policy and enforcing it will make those using or attempting to use cell phones to be easily visible.

If everyone has a phone, those with bad intentions will be better hidden; they would not be out of place holding a phone. Their goal is to take pictures, and they will be clever.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our members will quit if we donít remove the cell phone ban:

Oh, ok, itís ok to do child pornography and photo men and boys to keep possible 300 members happy out of a possible 5000+ members.

Just go outside of the locker room to use your phone. People are not going to quit in masses over this if they are made aware of the risks to others.

Use the locker room to get changed and showered, not to do executive business around naked men and boys. Get Real, and be sensible.

A lot of men do not like to be naked with phones pointed at them or their nude children for concern of privacy rights violations. One member said if a picture is taken, and you are actually aware, it takes a court order to get the phone.

When I talk with members, they say they donít like it, itís creepy with all the phone use, itís not right, itís not safe. I donít want my child to be videod; you donít know what people are doing with their phones. I spoke to a Las Vegas Judge who is also a member, and he said there's signs No cell phones, can't people wait 5 minutes. Another member said it's risky, they can wait 15 minutes, no one needs to be on their phones in the locker room.

Members can use their phones prior to entering the locker room or briefly leave the locker room to use their phones. There are 12 Slippery and Wet signs, there was only 1 No Cell Phone signs.

    Dear Brian,

Just following up on the July 17th meeting, I have not seen any changes yet.

I went to the gym yesterday (Saturday) July 26, and there was an older man using smart phone facing me, holding out the phone towards me, while I'm in my underwear, and there were many children around being Saturday and pool use time as you can imagine.

Again, there's the sign no electronic devices at the coat check entering the locker room, and it's in the contract, and on the web about the no cell phones/electronic device policy, and he didn't even have the courtesy to even face the lockers, he was facing me.

I spoke to the onsite attendant named Griffin, asking him the policy on cell phones, AND he said yes you can use them in the locker room, he then asked his manager Lee yesterday July 26, learning no cell phone policy, at one point he initially pulled out his phone to check a text when we first started talking.

In the lounge in the locker room, and as you know the lockers cradle the lounge, there was even a Life Time food service employee in uniform on his phone texting (texting that we know of).

Just would like to follow up, when will the 2 new signs be posted, when will the email blast go out to members on the policy, and when will staff enforce policy.

    I appreciate this.

I spoke with Brian Frankwick directly June 12, and he said he would take care of everything and enforce policy, and to confront the employee who was breaking the policy.

June 26, I left message after the 2 incidents back to back this day, I'm putting on underwear and a guy was 1 foot from me with a cell phone.

Brain Frankwick had Paul Grosskereutz (sales mgr.) call me June 27, Paul says "I understand you have a problem in the locker room" he gave no solution nor said what he would do to enforce the policy nor was sympathetic.

    I again gave 3 solutions:

-Post signs near hot tub and sinks

-send out email reminder of no cell phone policy in spa and locker area

-have attendants tell members to put their cell phones away (even employee use their phone)

Paul G says we need corporate permission to post more signs and he cannot do this, he said emails will not be read. He didn't say he was going to have the attendants enforce the policy. He just wants me to call him each time I encounter someone on a cell phone. CRAZY.

The Life Time Policy of no cell phones IS on the internet.

I call Amy at Corporate in Minnesota and filed complaint. They said they will enforce the policy, policy exist for a reason, they will contact Summerlin Location.

I'm not the only one uncomfortable with all the cell phones being used in the locker room, and no one can say if video or pictures are being taken or not, there ARE web sites with locker room spy videos and pictures posted, and a friend from L.A. says everyone is afraid of ending up on the internet, and have towels wrapped around them or change in toilet stalls.

I just want them to enforce their policy.
