    GoDaddy

I emailed GoDaddy about them and the hosting of fraudulant companies and what they are going to do about trying to eliminate their relationships with them ... NO ONE HAS REPLIED and this was almost 2 weeks ago

GoDaddy needs to POLICE their business operation more closely. Careerbuilder and Monster have made adjustments granted it is not 100% scam free. GoDaddy and other internet hosting companies need to do the same likewise.

    Re: GoDaddy

Godaddy would need a POLICE WARRANT or a court order in order to stop these 'scam" websites. A complaint isn't enough.

How would you like your business be shut down from the web just because someone compaliend about you (or lied about what you did?). It isn't fair to you.

Why not target those that take money for them (their payment processors) first?

2 weeks is HARDLY enough time to judge a site at what they are doing. Do you have proof of their scams? Victims?

    Re: GoDaddy

O yes, they are hosting numerous proven scams with victims (try google man) and they are notoriously lax in responding to victims complaints. But you are right about that the proof of this is often enough not delivered sufficient to convince them. Not many people are internet savvy enough to do so.
Go Daddy does not seem to care and is showing hardly any pro-active attitude themselves. They tend to only respond to serious legal threats of big firms, or to well organized consumer action, like beng employed on www.419legal.org. I do not like Go Daddy's attitude, in my opinion it is utterly arrogant and often enough close to criminal.

    Re: GoDaddy

Tom if you read various complaints about scam companies websites you will find that through reasearch of other members they have found actual owners of the websites, hosting companies and MANY of them direct back to GoDaddy ... THEY are the ones that are fueling these companies out there and allowing them to post and advertise their illegal companies. thats what the complaint is about .....

wizywyg -- No its been 2 weeks since I sent GoDaddy an email wanting an explenation on why they are hosting websites to known scam companies ... im not talking about one specific company there are enough posts here for you to find out that information. I would just like a response to my email that is all .... I would like them to tell me that they are working on resolving the problem of removing these scam companies from their host, and will work better at screaning them out....

    Re: GoDaddy

ladystaraz - I agree with the principle, but how do you propose they do so? I'm not a fan of godaddy, but they are just selling space. You say "known scam companies" - known how?..and what is "godaddy" supposed to do? Why not contact the police, vice, consumer protection, whatever, that have the authority to investigate and prosecute?

    Re: GoDaddy

Linda49 .... i dont know maybe by asking better questions before you host thier webisite..... BUT my BIGGEST complaint is the fact that GoDaddy has not responed to my concern in over 2 weeks ...... THATS NOT GOOD .... kind of sounds like they are admitting guilt by not saying anything in their defense .... I dont know just my 2 cents

    Re: GoDaddy

ladystaras - What would they be guilty of? I don't think they endorse the websites in any way, do they?. I imagine it would be a nearly impossible task, as well. How many people would it take to accomplish the task and what would the criteria be? How do you define "fraudulent"? Who would pay the cost? Did you give them specifics or just a general complaint? Your request may very well be in the circular file marked "nuts".

    Re: GoDaddy

linda49 --- I'lltell you what .... give me some time and I will go to all the other threads on this site, copy/paste the companys that ARE fruadulant and have been discussed in great depth, and put it on this site.............. BUT again my biggest complaint with right now is the fact that they DID NOT respond in ANY way to my email of concern... I think that they should have at least acknowleged my concern..... If you think IM NUTS that is your right .... but why dont you check out the other threads where other members has doen some research on companies that have been determeind fraudulant such as our frien Defriw .. or how ever the hell you spell his name .... you will see that most of them link back to GoDaddy as the host providor. ...

    Re: GoDaddy

Linda49 .... here are a few of the postings I was talking about..... now Im personally not saying that these partarticular companies are fraudulant but others have either said they were or its speculating .... all i wanted from GoDaddy is a responseto my concern, it is very unprofessional that there was no response .... at least Monster, Careerbuilder have the courtesy to reply back with some kind of appology ...

Whoa there lady - You are reading something into the tone of my post. I never meant to insult you nor imply you were incorrect. My enquiry was honest desire to learn something from you as you are obviously well acquainted with the subject. My comment about "nuts" simply meant that I think they may not take requests such as yours seriously.

I thimk you misunderstand the nature of a website host like godaddy. All they do is register domain names and and allow use of their servers for a fee. They have no control over the content people put on the websites they rent out space for. Maybe they could prescreen a little better, but all a webhost does is make sure the address and telephone number is not fake. I'm sure Hostgator, LunarPages, Midphase, IX, and others host scam websites. They don't police the website owners, they are just suppliers.

Unsub -- prescreen would be good ... but at this point all I am asking for as a response to my concern. Linda49 thank you
