Ignorance is simply the absence of knowledge. Stupidity is not wanting it.

We're still here because we're committed. We are guardians of a battlefield on which hundreds of posturing MLM beggars were cut down to size, including some notably committed, successful (and ultimately unsuccessful), big ones. We preside over this site as a kind of museum, a place where old glories are relived and the souls of MLM victim/distributors squirm in eternal shame.

What about your Herbalife diet? I don't like going after people for weight but I wanted the results of your experiment, anticipating that like all MLM-related stuff, it would fail.

What's wrong with this picture Joe, this is now in 2018. Amway showing a successful couple making it with Amway and quitting their corporate jobs. Fill me in on how this is a scam. They're going after young folks and if I remember correctly you mentioned that to me in another post.

Amway is just a front. While they might feature some couple that "made it" and quit their corporate jobs, their hundreds or thousands of followers are mostly losing money.

When I say Amway is a front, it's like the Italian restaurant that operates while the Mafia is doing their business in the backroom of the place.

They promote Amway as a means to great wealth and success and feature some (usually charismatic) people as evidence that the opportunity works. People see the hype and get excited, thinking they can achieve the same.

Then the real scam is introduced. You need audios, voicemail, and seminars in order to learn the secret of achieving in Amway. So the diamonds, or higher ups in Amway all sell training materials from which they earn significant incomes. Sometimes that income is more than what they earn from Amway.

The real business is in selling the training. It has a higher profit margin than selling Amway stuff, and the rank and file distributors don't get a cut from the profits. So while Amway IBOs are recruiting for downline, they are really unknowingly recruiting customers for the training business that their uplines run.

I still don't understand how enough people fall for it to keep Amway successful. There has been tons of articles and discussion on these MLM companies and how they operate. How much training does it take to sell some laundry detergent or a tube of lipstick etc? I could see a day, 8 hrs of training at the most. I'm under the impression young people today are more informed so how in the world are they duped by a scam that has hurt so many? Maybe many like the social part of it and enjoy going to these training events they're paying fo to socialize with other Amway folks and also enjoy the competition. I just can't believe so many would be mislead and feel they were scammed, enough people are getting something positive out of it or Amway wouldn't still be in business.

Amway has a high turnover. Thus it is new people joining and eventually quitting after buying some stuff and trying the tools/training. We call that "the churn". Without the constant influx of new blood, the diamonds would go broke. The only reason why Amway or Herbalife for that matter hasn't collapsed, is because millions of people turn 18 and become adults each year. Despite the information available, people still get sucked in by the hype and try it anyway, but the vast majority realize it doesn't work and quits pretty quickly.

For this reason, there is no "residual" income. You stop working your Amway business and it will fall apart fast. That's why you don't hear of diamonds ever quitting to enjoy life in privacy while Amway money keeps rolling in. They will say the diamonds work because they want to help their downline. But the reality is their income and lifestyle would stop if they stopped working.

Hard to believe people would still be falling for this if it is as bad as you and others claim. Thing is there are still those that buy into the smaller scams that get women who need a little extra income to waste their time and money.

I see Heather helped with getting a scammer prosecuted, she's posting about it on her site. She seems obsessed with stopping scammers and I know she's disappointed her site isn't doing better but she's still at it and making a difference. Good for Heather.

It's because many young people don't know about Amway. Or some people are told "it's different now". So they approach it open minded until they find themselves cash negative very quickly and wind up quitting.

The approach they use is join Amway where you can make or save money. When you don't know enough about it, how do your argue against making or saving money?

When I first saw the presentation, the audience was told that you save abut 30% shopping through Amway. What they don't tell you is that the 30% is full retail price but the wholesale price from Amway was still more expensive that something you can get from WalMart or Target.

    For example: https://www.amazon.com/Amway-Satiniq...a-453538634771

Satinique anti dandruff shampoo - 2 bottles for $25. 500 ml.

Head and shoulders anti dandruff shampoo: https://www.target.com/p/head-and-sh...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

Head and shoulders is $5.99 at target. 32 ounces. Two bottles is $11.98.

You get more product at less than half the price.
