    Re: the plutocrats have succeeded

No one has offered more vivid testimony about the power of money in politics than Donald Trump has in describing his personal history of writing campaign checks to sway politicians. He claims great success in what he calls “a broken system” of special interests. “When you give, they do whatever the hell you want them to do,” he said last year in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “As a businessman I need that.”

OK HE BEAT THE POLITICIANS AT THEIR OWN GAME.

That's why we want him on OUR side now.

Thats why the CIA and FBI hire the best criminal hackers.

Why wouldn't the smart people want the 80%ers stop populating and implode with disease and laziness and internal civil war.
They are all too dumb to know it.

Yes it is a game ladies and gentlemen.

Looks like a good read, and very brief too. Though we were not discussing democracy, but populism. So that's a rather far ranging tangent. And while populism is typically inherent within representative democracies, it is not strictly a artifcat of democracies.

Populism is the natural result of democracy in its final stages. That's why I bring it up. It is what shows up when a democracy has run its course, as Socrates describes as why it fails.

    > There absolutely are politicans who have mostly stayed close to a populist agenda, in that they fought for the people and peoples rights and pitted themselves against oligarchs, plutocrats and the like.

Name one. They do this only as far as it benefits them.

    > We have bigger worries now with laisse faire capitalists running government policy, who are then corrupted by industr

Laissez-Faire has nothing to do with government policy. You are confusing that with Crony Capitalism, which is just another form of Socialism. In a true free market, a government does not exist

I would execute plutocrats pushing mass degeneracy/hedonism personally.
Strong traditionalism would be propagandized in combination with high morals, work ethic and social-responsibility and solidarity. The mass-media and educational institutes would be focused around such strong European norms foremost. A good Deistic moral belief would help as well.
Anybody deviating from that beautiful standard would be shunned or put straight. By enforcing the law for instance. of course, this wouldn't be a very big issue, if the standard education and upbrining was traditional foremost, as most Europeans are culturally enlightened then

There's always been the plutocrats, the well-off as long as they please the plutocrats, and everyone else.

But the post-WW2 era in the US was unique in the fact that the "everyone else" class suddenly had the ability to live comfortably and aspire to themselves or their children climbing up into the "please the plutocrats" class.

The essential difference isn't the division, it's the population distribution between the divisions

I'll miss the ritualistic drone bombings of various disenfranchised civilians across the Middle East, the way he treated whistleblowers as traitorous dissidents, & I'll miss the bank bailout for sure - it's nice to see that plutocrats can still unload their business failures on the plebeian, tax-paying classes. I'll miss his concurrent provocation of BLM & refusal to enact meaningful justice system reform, I'll miss the way he ramped up the dissolution of privacy - one can only hope Trump will spy on us just as incessantly. Ah, yes. Neoliberalism conjures up the most nostalgic of sentiments. Here's to imperialism, kid

Either side with the corporations or side with non-rich Americans. None of the non-left candidates are worth voting for. Other American citizens can do what they want. I don't want your dumbass representatives of the plutocrats because they actively *harm* America outside the gated shining city of Rich-istan

Trying to find the one less law is way in the past. Workers have been losing ground on pay since the seventies. You can't weigh law by the thickness of the book. Plutocrats punched strategic holes in it and drained the economy into their own pockets. Corporations have all the power now. And it's not going to get better any time soon.

As for America, we inherited most of our business law without modification in the Revolution. The Constitution did little to existing commercial statutes and case law. And our most prosperous time was when we had strong union protections and high top tax rates after WW2
