    Re: Which Advertisement Do You Like Best?

    The first advertisement to promote gun control would do a better job of giving a reason to take a better look at why politicians are against or for gun control.

    The second advertisement is a nice thought for what we could do with guns rather than use them to kill and injure others.

    Neither of the two advertisements is a strong enough message to change minds that feel, to own a gun is a legal right for Americans. Especially with all of the violence happening in the world today many Americans want to have protection, close by, for themselves and family. Getting rid of all guns belonging to citizens in America would take years and most likely never happen, the bad guys will always find a way to have a gun.

    Note

    This thread should have stayed in the Political Chat sub-forum. We need to discuss issues and policies.

    Many, one of the oldest known:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consti..._of_San_Marino;
    The Constitution of San Marino is distributed over a number of legislative instruments of which the most significant are the Statutes of 1600 and the Declaration of Citizen Rights of 1974 as amended in 2002. The constitutional system has influences from the Corpus Juris Civilis and Roman customary law. It may have the oldest surviving constitution of any sovereign state in the world.
    Also see:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Marino;
    The government of San Marino made United States President Abraham Lincoln an honorary citizen. He wrote in reply, saying that the republic proved that "government founded on republican principles is capable of being so administered as to be secure and enduring."

    I like the first one. The second one that plays TAPS is too dark. First one gets to the point faster. I hate those Africa comercials, the dogs, the cigarettes......I hit mute or fast forward.

    Best of luck no matter what. Please plug scam.com on both of them if you wouldn't mind

    It is an Australian TV show. Ad agencies are asked to create a campaign to "sell" an idea. it's interesting what they came up with, but in both cases, the argument was in the face of the 2nd, questioning the dividend of gun rights...the death of innocent Americans in the pursuit of the citizens right to form a militia to defend themselves from a corrupt government.. Laughable, really.

    Neither is very well done. I got bored in less that 10 seconds on each one. I suggest you pay attention to Youtube ads. I watch way more Youtube than TV and i've noticed the pre roll ads that give you a kill button after 5 seconds say a lot about creativity . If they can grab me in 5, I hang around a bit and watch. Not many can but there are a few really good ones.

    The US constitution is flawed because it is open to interpretation. NO constitution should be open to interpretation.

    All legal documents are open to interpretation by a court of law. The interpretation is done by using "original intent" or by looking at the constitution as a living document and interpreted according to the times.

    I myself feel the 2nd amendment should be amended(redefined)and interpreted as a living document according to the times.

    The problem is that the constitution is interpreted by those with a vested interest, such as the NRA, which lobbies politicians to interpret the law they way THEY see it.
    I doubt the 2nd was drafted with the intention that it would give individuals the right to take up arms against the law abiding citizens of the US and fire at will.

    Then make it happen.. There's a reason that its hard to add or remove and amendment. To prevent the folly of political winds. If these false flag shootings stop then the public will forget all about it.

    This is true and the NRA has had a big influence on law makers over the past thirty something years. There are ways to work around this and as this gun violence keeps getting worse people will find a way around the lobbying and get something done to improve the problems we are having with gun violence. A combination of things need to be done but when law makers take a stand to not budge we end up getting no where.
    You would think when our economy improves this will have a positive effect on gun violence and with the assault on our Police this should also speed up the need to enforce, change and strengthen laws that will lessen the criminal use of guns.

    Seems it's got to get really really bad before everyone will come together to make changes for the good of the American people. All of the American people and this includes the poor and disadvantaged.

    It's going to happen if gun violence in our inner cities doesn't improve. I'm thinking when the economy improves, we get better schooling for our poor, laws are enforced, revised etc to improve gun violence, reduce gang violence, drug activity, legal system changed and improved so that criminals pay a price for their crimes etc. crime & gun violence will improve. Possibly it will improve enough to not have to amend the 2nd amendment but for right now gun violence is getting worse, the war against our police is unacceptable and with the changes coming in November improvement has to happen.

    Many changes need to take place to allow for positive change in gun violence here in the States.

    How about this change to the 2nd amendment?

    It would read, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms when serving in the Militia shall not be infringed.”
