Re: UPDATED: China Liars List - ESL - TEFL Teacher Job Scams, Internships, Exporters, etc

Scam Warning! ChinaTEFL.com is part of Hangzhou Helen (Chen) exploitation ring that includes ChinaTEFLNetwork.com, HelenGroup.com, New World ESL, and Haida HR.

This group keeps boasting they are part of Zhejiang University and part of China's Ministry of Education. This is absolutely False! They are a for-profit enterprise. They do however have one license uder which they all are affiliated. This group of companies is notorious for massive misrepresentation, bait and switch job placements, and bringing new teachers into China illegally without a Z visa and university degree. They later have a "friend of a friend" offer to sell you a fake degree from Ohio State, Georgia Tech, or Purdue University (perhaps they have more by now). They have also been caught skimming as much as 40% of teachers salaries over the last five years and were thoroughly exposed at the Beijinger before they bought advertising there that got the 3 complaint threads about them on the Beijinger forum deleted. Other complaints about them can still be found with a google or yahoo search including those at scam.com, eslteacherboard, and eslwatch.info. They are blacklisted on reddit as well as by the CTA and CFTU. Only Rebbecca Tang of China ESL is worse than Hangzhou Helen so watch out for all of their aliases and if you see any new company names and agents popping up in Zhejiang Province be super wary.

Never ever upload your resume again ESL & TEFL Teachers!

    SOURCE: TEFL.net.... http://www.tefl.net/forums/viewtopic...tart=20#p18339

Note: If victims cannot pay or the plan goes South, the booby prize is Identity Theft.

50 other TEFL & ESL teacher scams are listed here http://reddit.com/tefl_esl_scam but this seems to be the most dangerous imo. My guess is that the kidnappings are mostly in Latin or Middle Eastern countries and maybe Russia too. There was one case of North Korea but the American teacher fell in love with a Korean girl and decided to stay there!

"These ads are everywhere on the internet and they generally go something like this...

Native English American needed for six months to teach ESL to a wealthy family in Colombia/Mexico/Venezuela/Russia, etc. All expenses will be paid and you will earn $900 per day as live-in teacher for investor soon to relocate to America on EB5 program. Send your resume, photo, and passport scan to Ethan at VIPESLRecruiters@gmail/hotmail/yahoo/msn.com

You will then get a telephone interview allegedly to evaluate your English and you will be selected within a day or two. They then offer you a $10,000 cash bonus if you can fly to the destination within a few days. They will even send you a contract that puts all their promises in writing, but they say it is not valid unless signed in their country.

When you fly over to that country the "family lawyer" will meet you at the airport and have dinner with you and help you check into a hotel. They will even give you a phony business card. The "lawyer" then asks for your passport to process you with the local authorities. In a day you will get a call that says someone with our name is a wanted fugitive and they need your national ID (or social security number) to prove it is not you or you will be arrested and jailed pending extradition!

Of course people are terrified and will readily give the "lawyer" any information he wants. They will then research your family online and if your family is well-off (living in a $500,000 home, or having a luxury car registered is enough for them) a fake detective will show up and say he has to take you for fingerprints to make sure you are not the fugitive. People want to profess and prove their innocence and go with the detective. You have just become a hostage in Colombia, Mexico, or Dubai and your family is shaken down for $500,000 or more. If you do not come from a wealthy family, you will be told that there is an emergency and your services are no longer required. But in 6 months you will be contacted by the police about the $20,000 of jewelry or other merchandise purchased in your name. Of course, you will not even think the credit card fraud has anything to do with your trip six months ago.

Yes, this is a sophisticated scam but it is more common than you think. Over 1,200 ESL/TEFL teachers were victims of this VIP Tutoring scam in 2016 according to Interpol." UNQUOTE

That's the private registration service that is in Australia.

Ted clearly lists his address on his other website, his FaceBook page, it is even shown on his BBB report, which shows no complaints in the last three years. He's a member of a few other organizations as well.

But, of course as usual, you didn't bother to do any research on this at all.

Re: UPDATED: China Liars List - ESL - TEFL Teacher Job Scams, Internships, Exporters, etc

Like some 200 other China job agents, the recruiting business of TEFL.newbie is done in cyberspace - on the internet. This is a place where he can be anyone he claims to be. So whether he is based in heaven or hell, or even Phoenix, Arizona, what is important is that he is FALSELY telling China job applicants that they can teach in China without a Z Visa and without a real bachelor degree from an accredditted university. This is illegal employment that the U.S. or Canadian embassy or Chinese consulate will confirm for you. If you get caught working without these two mandatory requirements you will get arrested, jailed, fined $2,000 and then deported as a convicted felon - just as you would be in America.

So, Ted is deliberately misleading people and putting them at risk of being arrested and jailed like the 2,987 expat teachers were last year in China. http://www.opnlttr.com/letter/china-...-tefl-teachers

Scam? What Scam? Not on Zenix 12! - You are all invited to migrate today...
Free Peanutbutter & Bingo (American Mahjong) Every Wednesday Night!

We never have these sort of problems on my planet.http://scamalot.com/ScamTipReports/86021 On Zenix 12 Teachers are honored and respected as scholars and scams are prohibited. You guys should stop by for a visit and bring chocolate and TP for the locals as gifts! You will be welcomed and worshiped. (no pets, but large-breasted, drunk blondes are welcome). We now also have a huge demand for dancing instructors who earn more than 20 galupas per hour. Special buses leave Dongzhimen station in Beijing every morning at 2:00 am. Be sure to stand clear of all power lines on the big blue "X" and shout "I'm ready to go" (please be patient - our bus drivers are not the brightest guys in the world and sometimes pick up the wrong passengers. Wearing an orange T-Shirt and tin-foil hat will help speed up the transfer and avoid confusion). Welcome Earthlings! (Except scammers - especially politicians)

Beware of China's many fake law firms that swindle millions...

SOURCE: China Scam Patrol Newsletter (May/2017 Edition)

These smooth talking "lawyers" even have fancy offices and will invite foreign inventors to get their Chinese patents issued for $50,000 - $200,000 or get books copyrighted and translated into Chinese for $50,000. They will ask for 50% down and the balance upon completion. They will then issue fake certificates after about 45 days, collect the balance of their payments and disappear. In reality, they filed nothing with the Chinese patent office nor copyright office. And worst still, they have also sold the ideas detailed in the patents to Chinese investors who of course, file their own patents in China and lay claim to the technology, device, or process owned by the foreign inventor!

They will even operate websites or hijack the name of a real website and then give a toll-free number that rings through to their own "receptionist" that will always tell callers that the lawyer you want is in meetings or in court. Of course they will always call you back. Visitors to China will always make only one visit to their office (usually belonging to an accomplice who is paid to use their space, or in the alternative a virtualoffice space like HQ). But the walls will be adorned with photoshopped photos of famous people posing with the lawyers. The office will be ornate and and a "team" of lawyers (actors) will sit on on the meeting and give out printed copies of "China IP Law" they downloaded from the internet and also give an English translation. The dog an pony show is impressive. If they do this in volume of 10 clients per month they walk away with over $2 million a year.

The above document is a typical patent certificate issued by the Chinese government. They are easily counterfeited and by the time they are published to the public in a quarterly patent register, the scammer already has their final payment and has moved on to the bext victim using a new name and phone number. More information about this and other China scams can be found at http://reddit.com/r/chinascamcentral.

    Wow.

Would you please translate, into English, what that document you just posted says?

I am truly interested. Especially since it is some 10-12 years old.

Beware! Notorious China ESL Scam (Rebecca Tang) Now ForeignExpats.com & BeijingTeach.com

    <<<<< BREAKING NEWS >>>>>

Everyone wondered what happened to the number 1 scam artist in China - Rebecca Tang after she was exposed by us, the CFTU, and Teacher Katherine Cox in 2014. Ms. Cox proved that Tang skimmed 66% of her teacher's salary and then posted her copy of the most insane contract every seen by expat employees in China. Tang then followed up with threats to blacklist the teacher but Cox did not back down and won the support of 16,000 expat teachers in China, who signed a petition to the Chinese Justice Minister asking him to arrest and prosecute Tang, who at the time started an affair with a Beijing police official just to keep herself out of jail. See: http://www.esl-jobs-forum.com/viewto...stice+minister.Well, she did NOT retire! Like so many other scam artists in China who get busted and outed, she merely changed her name. Now she operates under the following six names:

    ForeignExpats.com

    BeijingTeach.com

    Golden Bridge ESL

    Golden Bridge Education

    Golden Bridge English

    Golden Bridge Visa

She is still using foreigners Eric Winder, David Valley, and Derek Yazwa to bird-dog and front for here (even opening a front office in Long Island, New York). Make no mistake about it, her devious tricks, traps, and one-way contracts are still in play and she should never be trusted along with anyone and everyone connected with these company names. For a photo of Rebecca Tang see here: http://chinafraudpatrol.blogspot.kr/...china-esl.html China ESL & Rebecca Tang broke the record for complaint threads at thebeijinger.com with over 385 posts abut her frauds and abuses in 5 different threads. She finally bought a huge adverising contract at the Beijinger and paid Michael Wester $50,000 to remove all the negative comments about her https://www.scam.com/showthread.php?...99#post1945299.

Although ForeignExpats.com claims to be in operation for 10 years (true for China ESL) the new web site and name were registered in 2016. ANd even though she used a proxy to register her newest entity, she forgot to change the ChinaESL@126 email address which gave her away (see below).
