Scam Alert: Beijing Champion Education Technology Co., Ltd.

Scam Warning! Beijing Champion Education is a Fraud - Beware Foreign ESL & TEFL Teachers!

Yet another Black Ghost school caught hiring foreign teachers illegally with F, L, M, & X visas and offering to sell fake diplomas. Two of their agents were recently arrested by the PSB and now those foreign teachers whose phone numbers appear in their mobile phone data are at risk of being arrested and deported. This is a Chinese-owned company but ownership is obscured via a proxy registration. They use cleverly-worded contracts that are actually illegal to trap teachers into working conditions not much better than slavery. Three teachers complained that they have been waiting for over 3 months to collect their last months wages. I am now submitting the information received to the CTA, CFTU, and CSP for international blacklisting. In the interim, all ESL & TEFL teachers coming to China should be aware of this recent development: http://www.opnlttr.com/letter/over-1...perations-2016

It's times like this that I am so happy that we have The Leader looking out for us and fighting for us EVERY DAY. God bless that man and I hope no one EVER stops fighting for the members of the China Foreign Teachers Union.

The idea that there are these SCUM out there who seek to destroy us just burns me up inside.

Mayflower Education of Beijing in Wudaokou is both a black ghost school scam and a health risk where the school has had an outbreak of Hepatitis and then concealed it very well. None of the teachers were given health checks yet the school produced phony "health certificates". Teachers are told they have health insurance but were never given health insuarnce ID cards. In the last three months nine of their 15 teachers have left the school with no explanation. Five of the 15 were veteran teachers. The school which was previously white-listed, is now under new management for the last 9 months by a Chinese woman named Amanda (Chinese name Bao Li) and run together with her little brother Bob and lesbian lover "Miranda" who handles the HR work. The school is probably one of the few in China that hires LGBT teachers.

There are many complaints filed against the company at the Ministry of Labor and my source tells me a law suit is soon to be filed by some parents for fraud since they were told teachers were from America when they are areally from Italy (Teacher Gabi) , Netherlands (Teacher Roel) , Serbia Teacher Angela) Iran (Teacher Max), etc. Staff seldom get paid on time nor in full.
    See: https://www.scam.com/showthread.php?...school-Warning!

The school is now the subject of an investigation of China Scam Patrol which gave a "Preliminary Red Alert" to avoid Mayflower since they do not have an SAIC business license, and SAFEA confirmed that they are not authorized to hire foreigners. They also report that the owner "Amanda" owns another blacklisted school in Haidian District of Beijing know as "Holy Global Education". The Beijing tax Authority reports that neither school paid any taxes, yet teachers reported that taxes were deducted from their wages. China Scam Patrol has requested the Public Security Bureau to investigate this school. It is also known that within the last 6 months at least one female teacher from the UK was arrested and deported from Mayflower.

Other complaints about Mayflower Education are found on Reddit and five different ESL forums. Our recommendation...
    A V O I D !

Shit, I just read the last WHO report that was allowed to be published in China - 4 years ago. "At least 12% of the Chinese population are known to be infected with Hepatitis in tier one cities and as much as 18% elsewhere in China"!

Hangzhou Helen & China TEFL Network in Zhejiang Province - Scam Alert!

We forgot to list one of the most notorious scam agents in all of China after our original list was deleted by hackers. Her name is "Hangzhou Helen" or "Helen Chen" and even after 5 years of over 160 complaints to the CTA and CFTU, nobody knows her real legal Chinese name. She is based out of the city of Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province and uses 7 different alias company names that are all affiliated with her. The two biggest ones are China TEFL Network and Haida ESL.

    If you are dealing with Helen or Rosie in any agency in Hangzhou, you are probably about to get swindled. They do have a business license but not in the names they use to advertise more than 100 jobs a day online. Helen and her affiliates have been blacklisted since 2010 for the following reasons;

    * Failure to provide foreign teachers their last paycheck
    * Illegally holding the passports of foreign teachers
    * Recruiting illegal foreign teachers on L, F, & M visas (Z Visa required by law)
    * Extoring foreign teachers big bucks to get their release letters
    * Salary skimming (as much as 40%)
    * Placements of teachers with black unregistered schools
    * Selling fake university degrees to unqualified teachers
    * Selling TEFL certificates to anyone with cash

Individual horror stories about Helen filled the internet by the dozens over the last five years, but in 2014 she hired a hacker who started deleting them to erase her track record or fraud, abuse, and teacher exploitation. Aside from her lack of ethics, the jobs she has to offer are some of the lowest paying in all of China. To her credit she has over the years, built a huge network of contacts but this is negated by the many complaints of foreign teachers who feel used and abused by her insensitive out-sourcing which ignores the needs and desires of individual teachers. In short, foreign tecahers are just looked upon as fuel for her money machine.

    Here is just a few typical complainst found online about them: https://eslwatch.info/en/china/3-rev...t-warning.html and a few more; https://eslwatch.info/en/china/3-rev...t-warning.html What the hell, here are some more in case you think I am blowing smoke up your butt;

Scam Alert! Laowai Career Center - China Jobs, Beijing, Yuri Khlystov

Old China Scam Artists Never Die... they just keep changing their names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses!

Heeee's back. Yuri Khlystov, the Russian in China famous for scamming foreigners out of their money by peddling dreams is now yet another ESL job agent hustling jobs for a fee. Whether the jobs are legal or not makes no difference to Yuri. First he sold Getin2China black visas to about 3,000 victims for six years, (see above staff photo from 2006) and after being exposed for illegally visa activity, he simply moved his office from Dongzhimen to the Galaxy Soho blding and changed his name to Gi2C. He went from peddling black visas to illegal internships that were banned by the Chinese government in 2014. So another 1,200 fraud victims later, he was exposed again at all the below web sites.

    http://gi2ccomplaints.blogspot.com.au/

    http://www.opnlttr.com/letter/beware...-targeting-you

So then he moved once again to Zhongguancun in Haidian District of Beijing with yet another new name Wise Way Global Education, which if you google them along with the word "scam" you will see, Yuri did not change his ways...

    https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/sho....php?t=3781307

    https://www.realscam.com/f8/wiseway-...ng-china-4421/

    http://www.realscam.com/f8/wiseway-g...372/#post94353

In this scam Yuri used a Chinese front man who went around the world posing with students and faculty at 2 dozen universities and then got really creative with the captions and proclaimed he was "Partners with America's top universities". Unfortunately, those universities said they had no official affiliation with Wiseway which was just another study abroad agent that sent unsolicited enrollemnt applications that Chinese and foreign students paid Wiseway thousands of dollars to do when they could have gotten the same results for free by doing an online application directly with the universities.

So now, Mr. Khlystov creates yet another beautiful website and uses his same old tricks of fabricated testimonials and third party reviews that he writes himself and then pays to get hosted. You will see the same group of his friends in China endorsing him (he has lived in China since 2006). And in another year we will be hearing and reading all the complaints of yet another 1,000-2,000 more new victims demanding refunds, because A TIGER NEVER CHANGES THEIR STRIPES.

For the record, Laowai Career Center is NOT authorized, licensed, nor registered with SAFEA to hire foreigners and he is still operating under his same license used for Getin2China, and half of his current employees came from other scams he operated in the past. But Yuri is learning from his past mistakes. He no longer publishes his office address so victims cannot locate him. Dealing from the safety of cyberspace is how he operates now. Need I say more?

Umm, according to one of the former MODS here that thread was deleted by another former MOD, Fat Man Frank to be precise.

Perhaps you should ask him why he deleted the thread and then started another (this thread). He is the OP for this thread after all.

Yes, China is full of scams targeting us foreigners whether we are just visiting as tourists,or those who decided to work there. And I'm sure your efforts will save a lot of problems for people Carol, but I have a question... Why the hell do young people want to teach in China when you can't drink the tap water, nor even breathe the air without wearing a surgical air filter mask, and 18% of the people are infected with and spreading Hepatitis like crazy? http://pollutionpictures.blogspot.co...-in-china.html 5 months out of the year, the air is actually toxic and full of carcinogens:

    BEIJING IS THE WORST!

Regarding record number of arrested China foreign ESL & TEFL teachers...

    NEWS UPDATE...

    * Record
number of China Foreign English Teachers (ESL & TEFL) arrested and deported from China. http://www.chinaforeignteachersunion...-arrested.html (See the below chart) In 2016, a total of 2,987 foreigns were deported from China. 85% of these people were foreign teachers. This means 10% of all the foreign teachers working in China were arrested and sent home as convicted felons.

    * A veteran source at Reddit claims moderator "ChinaDonkey" of TEFL subreddit is actually a blacklisted China Job recruiter who continuously censors any and all links to scam.com, especially the China Liars List
(I asked China Scam Patrol to investigate this guy)

    * The Chinese government will begin giving Foreign teachers in China English profoceincy tests before visa renewals and foreign expert certificates are given to ensure they are qualified to teach proper English grammar, sentence structure, etc. to Chinese students after 3 dozen Beijing mothers complained to the Minister of Education recently that their children made less spelling errors than their foreign teachers!

    * Jason of China Scam Patrol just lost his dad to cancer and we wish to send him our deepest sympathies.

    * The Chinese government has finally begun to punish the many black agents and recruiters who cause so many expat to get arrested for visa violations. Guo Bin, Sally Mei, Jane Zhang, Carl He, Mary Zhou, Summer Wu, and Julie Wei were some of the 12 recruiters arrested in the last six months and one was even jailed for a year. The others were fined 100,000 yuan and banned from the educarion and HR industries, although they will probably just use yet another name and nobody will know unless they get busted again. The agents avoid prison time by agreeing to cooperate with the PSB in sting operations and allow them to copy their phone and email logs to track down their foreign clients working illegally. This is why we have seen such a huge spike in arrests in 2016. If the arrested agents keep "cooperating" we expect to see at least 5,000 China foreign teachers arrested in 2017.

    * 32 veteran scam artists have recently changed their company identities with cloned "naked" websites as well. Naked website are those that contain no ownership or address nor telephone information for the company. They also hide their website registration info by using a proxy service. Users are only given a way to submit their resume or send a "blind" email. Mystery ghost sites like tese are obvious scams and should be avoided since their is a high probability that they are identity thieves or resume brokers. I will be publishing all the new information within the next 10 days. Stay tuned and check back next week.

(Since I recently became a mother, I have only 6-12 hours a week to dedicate to this thread, so please be patient. I will get back up to speed within the next three months as my baby finally began to sleep through the night just yesterday.)

Re: UPDATED: China Liars List - ESL - TEFL Teacher Job Scams, Internships, Exporters, etc

Regarding Laowai Career Center and "Cooperators"... (Hangzhou & Beijing, China)

Less than 15 minutes ago, this hit my inbox from an RSS feed and it shows you just how clever and devious China fraudsters have become, and why even intelligent people get sucked in by them...

Note: This scam artist is NOT Chinese, but a Russian.

    Source: ESLEmployment.com

"These creeps are super slick. They really pretend to care about your "future career in China" but my friend used them and she discovered that although their main office is in Beijing, they tell people it is in Hangzhou where they have a shared office with a Chinese language company "That's Mandarin". They are"cooperators" and the language company puts out really optimistic articles about working in China and then finds a way to embed a link to Laowai Career Center and then the sales reps at LCC will say "look at all the good things people say about us"! I know because I fell for it - once, back when the same people were running the getin2China visa scam back in 2010.

My friend found these people by replying to a job ad for a "PR Specialist". When she went for the interview she met the handsome Russian guy mentioned in the OP. He offered her 12,000 a month to write blogs promoting his company and :great fun working in China". He claimed he had three full time writers doing this now and one had to go back to the States for medical treatment. She almost took the job until he told her that she was never allowed to mention foreign teachers getting arrested in China which made her suspicious and then he told her that she would also have to write articles about his "other company Gi2c". So when she went home that night she googled the "other company" and called me for some advice. I told her what I read at scam.com and other scam warning sites. Thankfully, my very talented friend did not take the job or she would have been part of the fraud and not even know it.

BTW... here is one of the wonderful but false articles that he showed her as "an example"of what he wanted, and he claimed that he himself wrote this article "http://mandarin.cafe/blog/teaching-i...fessional-jobs". Any TEFL or ESL teacher working in China today will tell you staright away that foreign teachers are the lowest paid expats working in China. Even a marketing specialist at Lenovo where my ex works makes 27,000 amonth compared to 15,000 for an average English teacher. So they use one lie to sell another lie. Here is the truth my friends:
http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=103895&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 and also here at this link: http://www.chinaforeignteachersunion.org (China pay charts)

Over the last 5 years, the pay for teachers has only gone up 10% while housing costs jumped almost 30%. The pay of professionals working in China has increased more than 20%. If you fall for the BS sold by Laowai Career Center, you will find yourself trapped with a roommate or two just to survive in China economically. I live here in China now for almost 6 years. I know what I am talking about. I stayed because my husband opened a small restaurant that provides us a comfortable life - except for the damn pollution.

Teaching in China is only suitable for a young person without any debts who just wants to have some fun for a year and get a China job on their international resume. YOU WILL NOT SAVE ANY MONEY IN CHINA unless you are very frugal. As for a "career" in China? Read what the job recruiters will never ever tell you:
    http://www.globaltimes.cn/content/981575.shtml.

If you can handle the truth, come have fun in China, enjoy the food, see the incredible Great Wall, but read this first:
https://www.scam.com/showthread.php?704467-UPDATED-China-Liars-List-ESL-TEFL-Teacher-Job-Scams-Internships-Exporters-etc-BLACKLIST/page7 because it is so easy to be screwed over by a job recruiter who creates his own hype, testimonials, reviews, and now even "third party" blogs."
