    Vicious Racist Rhetoric

THE VILE BILE WE HAVE TO PUT UP WITH

    By Michelle Malkin · November 02, 2005 11:02 AM

Straight from the headlines, here's exactly the kind of unhinged liberal hatred and bigotry against minority Republicans I talk about in my book-- via the Washington Times today:

Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican.
Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an "Uncle Tom" and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log.

Operatives for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) also obtained a copy of his credit report -- the only Republican candidate so targeted.

But black Democrats say there is nothing wrong with "pointing out the obvious."

This is how low the Left's political discourse has sunk: I'm a banana and a coconut and a ***** and worse. Michael Steele is an Uncle Tom and a Sambo. Here's the despicable photo that left-wing bigot blogger Steve Gilliard (proving that blacks can be vicious racists, too) published and only removed after conservative bloggers blew the whistle:BELOW

So, defacing Steele's photo and assaulting him with Oreo cookies are peaceful exercises of free speech. Demonizing Condi is a harmless prank. Calling her a "House Nigga" is acceptable humor.

No minority who embraces liberal ideas is ever attacked for being a "race traitor" or a "sellout." These ad hominem attacks are leveled only by the Left, and only against minority conservatives. For the unhinged Left, race-baiting has become an expedient substitute for substantive argument.

    Ain't tolerance grand?

Which leaders are you referring to hear Michelle? Why can't they have names? I would think that would be important to their credibility and yours to give out such names to back up this very general statement.Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an "Uncle Tom" and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log. Again this is all very general... why does the bad behaviour of a few have to represent all liberals?
Operatives for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) also obtained a copy of his credit report -- the only Republican candidate so targeted. Again this is an organization that I've never heard of and don't support. How is this relevant to Democrats and liberals in general?
But black Democrats say there is nothing wrong with "pointing out the obvious. Again this is a general statement that has no basis in fact as far as your reporting is concerned"

This is how low the Left's political discourse has sunk: I'm a banana and a coconut and a ***** and worse. Michael Steele is an Uncle Tom and a Sambo. Here's the despicable photo that left-wing bigot note that he is one person not all liberals as this post seems to be implying blogger Steve Gilliard (proving that blacks can be vicious racists, too) published and only removed after conservative bloggers blew the whistle:BELOW

No minority who embraces liberal ideas is ever attacked for being a "race traitor" or a "sellout." These ad hominem attacks are leveled only by the Left, and only against minority conservatives albeit a small faction of the left, but that apparently isn't important for your inflammatory, accusatory commentary . For the unhinged Left, race-baiting has become an expedient substitute for substantive argument and here is that generalization I've been complaining about in all its glory.

    Ain't tolerance grand? Apparently

Who is this woman? Name calling and finger pointing usually requires someone besides a crazy blogger to point a finger at if you're going to finger an entire way of thinking.

I believe she is expressing her opinion as a person of mixed ancestry. Also, she is a nationally syndicated columnist who has written best-selling books. And , if any Republican EVER did any of these things you would never hear the end of it.

Well this article on her syndicated column seemed to be simply venting her steam with no real meat to back it up. What Democratic leaders is she talking about. They should be taken to task for acting so poorly. But the article isn't very enlightening in my opinion. Its full of generalizations and no real basis in fact.

And any person who acted this way SHOULD never hear the end of it. That's horrible.

'Party trumps race' for Steele foes

    By S.A. Miller
    THE WASHINGTON TIMES
    November 2, 2005
"There is a difference between pointing out the obvious and calling someone names," said a campaign spokesman for Kweisi Mfume, a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate and former president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
State Sen. Lisa A. Gladden, a black Baltimore Democrat, said she does not expect her party to pull any punches, including racial jabs at Mr. Steele, in the race to replace retiring Democratic U.S. Sen. Paul S. Sarbanes.
"Party trumps race, especially on the national level," she said. "If you are bold enough to run, you have to take whatever the voters are going to give you. It's democracy, perhaps at its worse, but it is democracy."
Delegate Salima Siler Marriott, a black Baltimore Democrat, said Mr. Steele invites comparisons to a slave who loves his cruel master or a cookie that is black on the outside and white inside because his conservative political philosophy is, in her view, anti-black.
"Because he is a conservative, he is different than most public blacks, and he is different than most people in our community," she said. "His politics are not in the best interest of the masses of black people."
During the 2002 campaign, Democratic supporters pelted Mr. Steele with Oreo cookies during a gubernatorial debate at Morgan State University in Baltimore.
In 2001, Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. called Mr. Steele an "Uncle Tom," when Mr. Steele headed the state Republican Party. Mr. Miller, Prince George's County Democrat, later apologized for the remark.
"That's not racial. If they call him the "N' word, that's racial," Mrs. Marriott said. "Just because he's black, everything bad you say about him isn't racial."
This week, the News Blog -- a liberal Web log run by Steve Gilliard, a black New Yorker -- removed a doctored photo of Mr. Steele that depicted him as a black-faced minstrel.
However, the blog has kept its headline "Simple Sambo wants to move to the big house." A caption beneath a photo of the lieutenant governor reads: "I's Simple Sambo and I's running for the Big House."

    Re: Vicious Racist Rhetoric

This one is better since it gives some names. Sounds like Maryland has a bunch of black figureheads with twisted thinking. I'd like to see a white legislator try to use language like that against a black legislator. The SH*T would hit the fan and all the usual characters would come flying out of the woodwork Im sure. It seems that you can't criticize a black person about much of anything without being racist really.

I actually agree with you here Pwrone. These people should be reprimanded, but it doesn't represent all Democrats or liberals.
