    How to Identify e-mail/domain sources

I think it would be nice for some of the more technically advanced folks out there, if they could let us techie 'commoners' understand where/how e-mails and domains come from.

I know enough to use various whois sources, but beyond that, I don't have much to go on.

Basically, I am trying to understand headers, and how e-mails get to me, etc.
    Does this make sense?

If you have any sources explaining how to identify these, and what they mean (including, but not limited to, domains, subdomains, e-mail routers, etc.), I would greatly appreciate this.

    Thank you.

    For example:

I get lots of messages like this:

    Return-Path: Sun Oct 30 02:15:07 2005
    Received: from rwcrmxc14.comcast.net [xxx.xxx.xx.xx] by name.myhost.net with SMTP;
    Sun, 30 Oct 2005 02:15:07 -0800
    Received: from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (unknown[xx.xxx.xxx.xx](misconfigured sender))
    by rwcrmxc14.comcast.net (rwcrmxc14) with SMTP
    id <20051030101452r1400aer90e>; Sun, 30 Oct 2005 10:15:09 +0000
    Received: from localhost.localdomain (xx.xxx.xxx.xx [xx.xxx.xxx.xx])
by xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with ESMTP id e2[2
    Date: Sun, 30 Oct 2005 10:15:10 +0000 (GMT)
X-Comment: Sending client does not conform to RFC822 minimum requirements
X-Comment: Date has been added by Maillennium
    X-Originating-IP: [xx.xxx.xxx.xx]
    X-Rcpt-To: myemail@mydomain.com
