The Hammer's first move on the judge's moveon donation
That's Entertainment!
We have a little delay by DeLay's dilletante lawyer's motion to get Judge Bob Perkins recused for making a cash donation to MOVEON.ORG, "a liberal organization that he said has been selling T-shirts bearing the image of DeLay's mug shot'.
The hearing transcripts promise to be rich. Since the T-shirts just came out and it is likely the Perkins' donation was made well before he was ever assigned the case, it is going to be difficult for Dick DeGuerin, DeLay's attorney to demonstrate any real conflict of interest or prove cause for Perkins' recusal.
I'm not in the mood to mess with copying the 'news item'; go read it yourselves at http://www.usatoday.com/news/washing...ay-court_x.htm

Okay...you do not see the lawyers point here...is that your claim? Hint--It has nothing to do with t-shirts. Hint--it has something to do with donating to the radical left.
Take your time.Last edited by pwrone; 10-21-2005 at 09:42 PM.

Though I'm certain you couldn't possibly admit to being completely ignorant of the rules in the U.S. Code of Civil Procedure or case law precedents set by similar proceedings, I can admit to only a rudimentary knowledge, so I couldn't make an expert judgement call like that.
If you read the article you will have noticed that the session in which the motion was argued lasted only 10 minutes and only mentioned the T-shirts, which I'm sure you are going to call a liberal press ploy to spin the story away from what is so obvious to your morally bankrupt, ethically challenged, Bush's Pom-Pom girl mind.
But really, 10 minutes is hardly enough time to get through such a complex argument, don't you think?
Take your time and stuff it up your TIME/DATE STAMPER.
Oh yeah, one other thing: just because an organization is in the business of politicking for anti-republican populist 'Special Interest Group(s.SIG)' does not necessarily mean that they are 'radical left' which specifically implies militant socialists in the minds of most politically involved people who are not restricted in their thought processes by Bushovik mental conditioning and perception management.
I'll bet they're more honest about their tax obligations than you are.Last edited by tommywho70x; 10-21-2005 at 09:47 PM.

Q) If you were the attorney for a Republican congressman and the judge was a known donor to the far left radical wing of the democratic party, would you request a change be made?

Okay, so I'm wrong, you admit ignorance for a change.
Of course you're right, from your perspective, it's a natural move.
which is why I made my original observation that it's going to be nearly impossible for them to present any arguments based on the T-shirts alone and difficult, at best, for them to get a ruling in their favor based on the judge's preferences in what charitable organizations he tithes into.
For all you know, he'll blow them out of the water by disclosing his entire tax statement and the ADL, NRA or some such radical right wing organization will be on there too.
