You must be a youngster, 6seven8,

IE Web Browser and Mozilla-based Web Browser were once the same program known as Mosaic motif-based Web Browser. Mosaic was created by a team at U. Illinois - National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NSCA) and was copyrighted by Spy Glass, Inc.

The project leader, Marc Andreessen, ran off with it to found Netscape. Bill Gates and Company bought a license to RENAME, REBRAND and GIVE IT AWAY as IE Web browser (it is FREEWARE that can't be sold) in 1995 and both browsers have been a nightmare ever since for 'advanced users' because of improper modifications by both Microsoft and Netscape to the 'Browser Uninstall Feature' and 'Browser Helper Object'.

Because of the greed of both companies and their partners and the advent of HTML, both Mozilla and IE have horrible exploitable security vulnerabilities.

    Re: New Web Browser

Then which browser has the least security vulnerabilities, yet can still display wep pages etc. properly?

    IE
    Firefox
    Netscape
    Mozilla
    Safari
    Opera
    Lynx
    Konqueror
    Amaya
    Neoplanet
    Galeon
    iCab
    Crazy Browser
    Netcaptor
    OmniWeb
    Flock
    Mosaic
    Phoenix
    Netomat
    SlimBrowser
    Ghostzilla
    Phaseout
    Smart Explorer
    AWeb
    iRider
    Net-Tamer
    Crystal Port
    Voyager
    Buddy Browser
    Free Browser
    Kopassa
    Smart Browser
    Avant
    Maxthon
    FineBrowser
    Surf It!
    GuavaahLyte
    Dimension
    Map Surfer
    Wichio
    GoGo Explorer
    Ideal
    Yahadi
    Go Surf
    Cayman
    Secret Web
    Enigma
    ANOBrowse
    FBrowser
    Slim Browser
    Ultra Browser
    Faststone 4 in 1
    Netcaptor
    Lookbao
    Deepnet Explorer
    Secondary Browser
    Lunascape
    SmartFox
    Ace Explorer
    Dragonfly

and whatever else is out there.

I tried IE, Firefox, Netscape, Mozilla, Safari, Opera, Lynx, Konqueror, Amaya, and Crazy Browser before for quite some time at home and at work, and a few of the rest for a short time each, but most of them suck. Faststone 4 in 1 works also well, but I am not sure if it is secure.

Currently I am using IE and Firefox and Opera now and then.

    Re: New Web Browser

Woo, I wish I knew the answer.

What I do know is that there is only one WINDOWS EXPLORER
(FIND ALL FILES OR FOLDERS FOUND SYSTEM HELP.BAT BATCH INFO HH.EXE(Htmlhelp Self-extracting, Self-installing HELP.CHM=Compiled Help Module)).

That program, in fact the entire standard Windows Desktop OS, was not created by Microsoft; they bought a license to modify and resell it from XEROX.
That is the INTERNAL Browser/Search Engine for a Windows-based PC.

Many of my family and friends
are PC and Telecomm technician people. My oldest friend works the business helpdesk for SBC and his attitude is if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

I know that using standard "Best Match Technology/Windows networking methods" and the Windows Explorer, I can secure "My Computer" in the "Local Machine" or "INTRANET Zone" from anything bad for the machine's health and safety or my privacy that might get brought in by the web browser.

None of the web browsers are secure from spies, pop-ups or viruses and all require additional programs to prevent and remove those types of files. They all lock up and crash. I've never even heard of some of those and the ones you're using now are the most reliable.

I would recommend that you make sure that you keep your communications device driver files current, use anti-virus, anti-adware and anti-spy utilities and make sure you have the lastest version of JAVA VM downloaded, because the automated HTML Script Error corrections and debugger are the glue that holds IE and the others together these days.
