    Debt Relief Scam

I have been had. A company in Florida offered help with debt relief which we desperately needed at the time. I checked out everything I could about this place and everything seemed to be legal. They were to pay off our credit cards at a reduced rate and we would send them a percentage to do so. It was beginning to work. Then the guy "died" and all the accounts were frozen and disbursed. Needless to say, we still had the debt plus we had lost over $10,000.00. Never again.

    Just to say...

There isn't anything a debt relief company can do for you that you couldn't do for yourself.

There's so much knowledge readily available on the 'net about this topic (forums, etc..)

You could sue the company if it's still solvent. Otherwise, you've just learned a costly lesson. Sorry to hear you've been had. We've all been there at one time or another.
