foreskin or not to foreskin, that is the question

it is now 2015. An interesting fact about circumcision and a baby's foreskin. When I talk to my mom about this she says circumcision was just an upsell in the sixties and seventies. It was a way for the doctors to make an extra hundred dollars quickly. Now I am a man and I appreciate that I was circumcised. But all of my European friends thanks it is a barbaric ritual that hurts men later on in life with sensation. To me the running jokes as a kid were about quote unquote cheese down there. What are your thoughts on foreskin and circumcision to me it's just a given but there's a lot of people not doing it anymore

Personally I am glad I was circumcised, mostly because I would rather not have my unit look like "Telly Silvalas with a turtleneck sweater pulled over his head." :)

    A woman's opinion:
Circumcised looks better, but its still mutilation.
Just like female genital mutilation, IMO.

Yes, both unnecessary and both mutilation.
That might not be the most popular opinion, but its how I feel about it.

People don't circumcise themselves. Circumcision is done to others, usually children, for religious regions, and without consent.
If circ is a choice for medical reasons, then the sexually active adult male can make an informed choice himself.
As for cosmetic surgery, ironically, one of the posters above makes the case that his unit looks better circ'd. So, for him, maybe it is cosmetic surgery, lolz.

I think the percentage of men that later in life gets the procedure is staggering.

Re: foreskin or not to foreskin, that is the question

I had it done as an infant, in the hospital, by a doctor...As my parents were staunch atheists, I would have to assume that it was for health, and not religious reasons...

There are many health benefits to circumcision (google it). It is definitely NOT the same as female mutilation. That also has a CONTROLLING purpose that women should be outraged about.

As a Christian who believes he is a member of one of the Tribes of Israel (specifically Joseph), circumcision holds the BIBLICAL importance to me -- a sign that He is my God.

Re: foreskin or not to foreskin, that is the question

I am married to a man that has never been circumcised and it's never been an issue in anything we do. I do know that he has to be very careful and keep his member clean at all times. The extra skin fosters bacteria if not careful.
