do you believe the Super Bowl was trying to charge Katy Perry

I just heard this today. The Super Bowl one of the most viewed things in the world if not the most was trying or has in the past charged the artist in the halftime show to perform. Now this is all new news to me. Katy Perry denies and refuses to pay to do the halftime show. Now in the past I wonder if artists paid or the record companies floated the bill. How disgusting in shameless is the NFL doing a bid for halftime entertainment when these artists are struggling as it is and getting scammed out of royalties greedy record companies and every single person trying to dip into their pockets like agents managers social network managers PR people security and then of course uncle Sams taxes. It's next to impossible to be one of the few that make a living with music. And if you have as many hits is Katy Perry she's the one doing the NFL the favor then she should be getting paid.

What a bunch of greedy bastards. You can't watch a game anymore without 100 Geico commericals, beer commercials, viagra, etc every ten seconds. For them to charge artists makes me ill. And kudos to Katy for refusing the offer. Mayyyyyyybe play for free. Mayyyyybe. But she deserves to be paid, come on. Here's something I do as a hobby (crayon art): Break a leg Katy!

I thought the superbowl star performers were unpaid. The publicity they generate from the performance usually paid off in spades later - cd sales, concerts, etc.
