    Earthquakes

In addition what you will read below there just has been another 3.5 under the lake today and several others. For those of you that don't know, under Yellowstone lake is a volcanoic dome that has been rising for some time now and that is where all of the recent quakes have been

Dec. 30, 2008 -- Yellowstone National Park was jostled by a host of small earthquakes for a third straight day Monday, and scientists watched closely to see whether the more than 250 tremors were a sign of something bigger to come.
Swarms of small earthquakes happen frequently in Yellowstone, but it's very unusual for so many earthquakes to happen over several days, said Robert Smith, a professor of geophysics at the University of Utah.
"They're certainly not normal," Smith said. "We haven't had earthquakes in this energy or extent in many years."
Smith directs the Yellowstone Seismic Network, which operates seismic stations around the park. He said the quakes have ranged in strength from barely detectable to one of magnitude 3.8 that happened Saturday. A magnitude 4 quake is capable of producing moderate damage.

Those quakes are still going on in the lake. Don't know how strong because they have shut down the sesimagraphs so we cant tell. Gee, I just might get to witness history here. This map shows how far away I am from it here in Jackson. Man that would make one hell of a tombstone wouldn't it folks. And not to mention that there is a major fault line centered just outside of town here. A big one up there could set that one off to.

Doesnt sound like the weather is at all in your favor? I couldnt imagine how much that would suck.

I panic if we get more than an inch of snow....cause that means that the kids might home from school and stuck inside competing to see which one of them can get me to snap first.

As for quakes....we had the 5.5 in April and every since then Ive been extremly paranoid and hubby doesnt help cause he purposely shakes the bed in the middle of the night every once in awhile....cause he thinks my reaction is funny. So maybe if we had more quakes I would at least feel a little less nutty, lol....or it would make me worse. I will never forget that morning.....it froze in panic, I had no clue what to do, we just dont have quakes here.

I predict something big is brewing underneath us. I have been watching quake activity since that morning and I have noticed activity is up everywhere....its scary.
    Now quit your yappin!! :2gunsfiring_v1:

From what I hear animals start to act really strange before a quake hits. Also if that super volcano goes off. That would be horrible. You can say bye bye to Wyoming, Montana, and probably and good part of Colorado. Lets really, really hope something like that never happens.

Now that sounds like something I'd do. Course I have been known to buy a couple kegs just to get enough guys together to go over to my buddies singlewide trailer and start shaking it on his wedding night. Boy what a friend to have in me. :errr::

Now that sounds like fun.....but being a wedding night, one would think they shouldnt notice... if they were celebrating properly.

If the volcano here in Yelloowstone ever does go on the magnitude it has in the past about 2/3rds of this country will feel the effects of it from the ash fallout alone.

Yea, I was watching a show on discovery about that awhile back. They said even those of us way over here in north kakalaky would be dark for quite awhile from that ash cloud, and kickin off from the breathing the stuff in.

    Re: Earthquakes

here is a list of the quakes so far today. All of them except for one is in Yellowstone lake where the dome is. Some folks here are beting that if the quakes get over 401 that the dome will crack open.

Well the rumbling under the lake has finally settled down. Only one small shaker since about 2:am and most of us are wondering if it is going to stay quiet of start up and get worse. I know that it doesn't seem like much but it is aabout 40,000 years or more over due to blow. Most folks have no idea about the level of devastation it will cause and the long term effects it will have on the entire planet. So for now I get to stick around and bother you nice folks out there.
