    Booking.com security breach

This company had a major security breach this year, with legitimate customers being contacted and asked for full payment on a current reservation. Always use your common sense if you get this kind of email. Look closely at email addresses, web domains and contact numbers and see if they match the official details. And of course ask yourself, would a reputable company suddenly change their booking policies? It's unlikely.

Yes sometimes email addresses are so close to the real thing that people assume they are dealing with the actual place! It is quite scary.
