    What is asbestos ?

There are so many commercials for lawyers for Mesothelioma on daytime TV and it all has to do with the dangers of asbestos. What is it? Well here you go.

Asbestos is a type of material found in many buildings. It has been linked to causing very serious health problems for people. Even though it is a good material for keeping heat in it is rarely used in the construction industry anymore due to the ill effects it can have on people that are continually exposed to it. In fact it has been deemed illegal to use in many countries for about 20 years now. Efforts have to be taken to remove it from facilities that already exist.

It really does depend on the type of asbestos that was used though. The one that seems to be the most dangerous to both humans and animals is chrysotile. Those that work in areas with this type of asbestos or that live by factories that have it have been linked to lung problems and to tumors. The fibers in the asbestos are breathed in without a person knowing and therefore they may be exposed to it without ever finding out until they become ill.

Yet many in the construction industry arenít happy with the image that asbestos has gotten in society. They feel it is a very good material to use for many projects. They want to be able to use a less concentrate of it so there with be fewer fibers in place. They believe it can be a cheaper way to get the same benefits for their projects. However, with the health risks that have been identified it simply isnít going to happen.

As a result of the controversial issues with asbestos, fiberglass has replaced it for construction purposes. They also use organic fibers instead of the harmful asbestos to get the same results. Removing asbestos from buildings and replacing it with the new materials is very costly and time consuming. Those involved in the process have to wear a mask to help prevent the harmful fibers from getting into their bodies.

Some people have become so ill due to the exposure from asbestos that they are unable to go about their normal life. They have filed lawsuits against the companies in an effort to at least get their medical expenses covered. These types of cases can draw out in the courts for a very long time if the parties canít agree on a settlement.

If you have any experiences with work related asbestos please share your story here.

God gave us all the power to create and use our minds. Asbestos is chemically driven. Anything unnatural is not good. All the chemicals you all eat give you cancer. Any plastics and materials you create like asbestos hurts the human body. Nature over science all day long.

Asbestos is a naturally occuring silicate mineral.
It's not a "chemical" created by man.

The fact that it's a natural material doesn't change the fact that it's a health hazard...

Religion tests nothing. Religion changes nothing. It only provides a lifetime supply of dogma "rescuing" folks who don't know any better.

Anyway, back to asbestos... I used to work as a mechanic for a while and when we all did brake jobs we would generally used compressed air to blow out all the dust. That dust was from the brake shoes which contained some percentage of asbestos. While I don't have any related health problems, I still might in the future. The main diseases related to asbestos are Asbestosis, Lung cancer (certain kinds), and the famous Mesothelioma.

Asbestos is a set of six naturally occurring silicate minerals, which all have in common their eponymous asbestiform habit: i.e. long, thin fibrous crystals, with each visible fiber composed of millions..vv..

I remember when Google Adsense was charging $32 per click!!!!!!!!!! For Mesothelioma. The leads must have warranted it.

    Please help our church -
Your donations no matter how small are appreciated :)

I remember when the clicks were cheap too. This year, I have been seeing them go as high as 10 time that much.

Are they worth that much? Well, if someone is diagnosed with mesothelioma their case is easily worth about $500k. Then if they are younger or meet other criteria the case value and quickly go into the millions. Law firms get anywhere from 25% to 40% so you can start to see that it can be profitable.

But you are more likely to be struck by lightning than be afflicted with mesothelioma cancer. It's a very rare disease. More likely is lung cancer or asbestosis. There is money available for people exposed to asbestos and then get those, but the money is much less.
