Should 'fight club' be made illegal?

You've all seen the film, right..?

    Well, think about the content.

Guys knocking the s*** out of one another for bets and a buzz.

I would imagne such an unregulated thing would be illegal in most states, but I wish to suggest that we make it legal, and encourage it.

We could build a big arena in the city centre.

Attract the city's supposed hardest men.

Let them slug it out until there is one standing.

    Everyone wins.

We are entertained by watching violent men

The violent men get to fight and chase a prize for doing so

It is done in a controlled way, and no innocents are hurt, just those that have chosen to do it

Every city has it's self proclaimed tough guys, from the street, who I am sure would love to put themselves in.

    Why not let them?

Televise it, and use some of the monies and donate it to a worthy cause.

Is there any flaw in this idea?

Is it any different from boxing, except ordinary street fighters, and no gloves...

I totally agree with you. Fight club should be made legal. Besides, people have been drawn to fighting and violence for centuries. Take a look at the gladiator fights of ancient Rome for example. People would come for miles for this type of spectacle.

Might it actually reduce instances of street violence and anti social behaviour, by channeling what they most like to do (fight and make money), in legalising this?

I think there is a case for saying so..

Lol, would the fighters need watches to time their endurance..?

No I don't think it will help as the young ones will be trying to build on their reputation and the only place would be in the hom and in the streets.

    No?

    Really..?

In many cases, young lads who take up boxing, and really want to get good at it, find their delinquent ways decrease, rather than increase.

It would be totally possible for the streetfighter to hone his skills without breaking the law. Fighting clubs would become more and more popular, as fighters aimed to mix their raw aggression with a regular martial art or fight skill, so that would be one example of how they could improve, and remain within the law?

Then the rules would have to be really enforced as street fighters use no gloves and anything goes. No rules no holds barred.

    Not really.

Pro boxers often prepare by relatively gently sparring with a wide range of opponents, wearing protective gear, therefore, not a precise replication of their real fight.

Same with these guys, they could train full contact, but in order to lower injury of their training partner, padding etc would be used. It would be their skills they were honing, not how many legs they could break at a single sitting!
