Salvation Army Volunteers In Front Of Stores

These guys ringing the bells seem like scammers to me. They look all junked out on crack or booze or meth or all the above. One guy even asked me for a cigarette. I have a feeling they steal that money or parts of it for their "habits".

What's the stats on these skids?

I would not call all of them scammers. I know a few people in my area that have done it before and they were not scammers that is for sure.

I do think some of the money gets to the proper place no matter what the bell ringers look like. Before giving to any charity though, do a little research and see exactly how much money goes to the cause. Many times only a small portion goes to help. The rest is "administrative" costs.
