    Reputable Insurance Companies

Question to you experienced sales professionals:

    In your opinion:
What company/companies offer the best for the customer -
And, the best opportunity for you? :liefde:

I am a customer service rep for DHL, (our call center closes Dec 5, 2009)
Several years ago I worked for CLICNY.
I want some info before returning to sales.

    Thanks!

You're going to need to provide us with more info. What state are you in? What kind of insurance do you want to sell? Life and health? Property/casualty? What kind of background do you have in insurance? Do you want to work in an office setting or be a road warrior? What age group do you want to work with? How do you feel about cold calling? How good are you at prospecting? Do you want to specialize in any specific product (i.e. annuities, long term care, health insurance, etc.)? I'm sure someone here will have some advice if you provide us with a little more info about what you're looking for.

    Thanks, deskjockey.

The truth is I don't know what I want, yet. I can give some background info as a starting point.

I worked at CLICNY (Combined Life Ins NY) in Central NY for a little under a year in 1991-1992. I had my A&H policy. It was entirely commission, working renewal cards, cold calling, and referrals. I want to be the "road warrior" again.

Here is a specific question and a bit more background:

Where can I learn more about the Senior market? A few years ago I worked for a hearing aid company as office staff. I scheduled sales appointments, and handled inbound customer calls. Our primary sales software was ACT.

Yes, Plantation FL is the headquarters for DHL US. We are expecting layoffs approaching 10,000 people. DHL is leaving domestic services and will be entirely International as of around Jan 23, 2009.

Two call centers will close Fri Dec 5 2008. I work for one of them, in Syracuse NY.

[EDIT -- Typo in my original post. Our call center closes Fri Dec 5, 2008.]
