    Micro-X (MicroXP and Micro2003) Multi Boot CD

    Micro-X (MicroXP and Micro2003) Multi Boot CD - eXPerience

    MicroXP uses 40Mb of RAM and Micro2003 uses 50Mb.

    Heres the INFO folder:
    http://www.flyupload.com/?fid=306786348

    Option 2 (MicroXP) made into an ISO is 103Mb.
    Option 4 (Micro2003)made into an ISO is 104Mb.

    Then there is the WPI with a few apps. In the main installs, you have a link on the desktop "Install Programs". In the standalone ISO installs you do not get this link because the APPS folder is not on the standalone ISO, only the main CD.

    Includes these apps currently:

    allSnap v1.33.2
    Atlantis Wordprocessor v1.6.1.9
    Comodo Firewall Pro v2.4.19.185
    DirectX 9c DLL Files 24 39
    Everything v1.1.4.301
    FoxIt PDF Suite v2.2.2129
    Internet Explorer 7 :D
    IMG Burn v2.4.2.0
    Themes (original Windows XP Luna)
    Vista Aero Glass Theme
    WinRAR v3.80
    Windows Media Player 11 :D

    these versions of windows will make you computer, Stable, responsive and quick.
    They work far better than full OS versions..

    1 - Faster install.
    2 - Faster boot up. (bar on boot screen goes past once or twice, not 7 times like full XP, or 21 times like Vista)
    3 - Faster shut down. (Literally 3 to 5 seconds on Micro2003).
    4 - More secure.
    5 - Can be scanned for viruses 5 times faster than regular XP.
    6 - Can be defragged 5 times faster than regular XP.
    7 - Can be backed up 5 times faster than regular XP.
    8 - Can be restored 5 times faster than regular XP.
    9 - Can be used on really old systems like a 1Gb HDD and still fit tons of programs.

    MicroXP and Micro2003 Dual Boot CD
    __________________________________________________ ______________________

    Thank you for trying this dual-boot CD.

    Only install Windows from this CD as a fresh install onto a formatted
    partition. You can only install Windows from this CD by booting from
    the CD. There is no setup.exe on the CD, because the option to upgrade
    is removed.

    This CD contains two different editions of Windows and in total,
    four different options for the installation of Windows as follows...

    1 = MicroXP with Added Driverpacks.
    2 = MicroXP on its own. (103Mb ISO, 217Mb Windows Folder)

    3 = Micro2003 with Added Driverpacks.
    4 = Micro2003 on its own. (104Mb ISO, 219Mb Windows Folder)

    All 4 options include dozens of tweaks for performance and many
    other tweaks to make Windows more secure and easier to use.

    You also have four additional main boot options:

    5 = Acronis Backup + Restore (Safe For Vista)
    6 = Windows XP - Live Bootable Environment
    7 = SpinRite v6.1 (Hard Disk Testing and Repair)
    8 = Windows Memory Diagnostics (RAM Memory Testing)

    Acronis boot CD lets you backup your Windows partition onto another
    partition for restoration at a later time, or you can restore a
    previously created backup. In theory you could install MicroXP, then
    reboot into Acronis, then backup your partition and install Micro2003
    then do the same, back it up.

    Windows XP Live Bootable Environment is a very small live Windows XP
    that runs in RAM memory - so when you boot into this live XP, your
    C: drive is in fact really your "shut down" Windows C: drive, this
    allows you to scan for viruses with the available NOD32 scanner, or
    you can delete/move files that it is impossible to delete or move
    whilst Windows is still running. With this option you can simply
    boot into the live Windows XP and no files are in use, your real
    Windows installation is totally shut down, but you can still access
    it through the Windows Explorer in Live XP. Also this has Paragon
    Partition Manager included too for resizing and formatting your
    disks without worrying that the system might be running.

    SpinRite is a hard disk repair and diagnostic tool. Runs whilst your
    real Windows is shut down, so all of the disk can be tested properly.

    Windows Memory Diagnostics is a tool that will check every last byte
    of your RAM memory for errors, again whilst the usual Windows is
    completely shut down, so all the RAM can be tested properly.

    What does Micro mean?

    MicroXP and Micro2003 this time are both loosely based on each other,
    that is, there is now just one single Last Session.ini file for nLite
    and that one file can be used on both XP SP3 and Server 2003 SP2.

    It doesn't matter that the Last Session lists things like "Tour" which
    is not in Server 2003, nLite can't remove something that isn't already
    there, so it is safe to combine both into one universally usable Last
    Session.ini file.

    Now anyone can use that Last Session.ini in nLite to make any XP SP3
    or Server 2003 SP2 into a Micro version! The Last Session lists all
    the files to be removed and kept, there is no manual file deletion or
    editing of TXTSEUP.SIF required, nLite does everything and the one
    Last Session,ini file can be used on both XP and 2003. YES BOTH.

    Previous editions of MicroXP and Micro2003 were done the hard way, by
    manually commenting out files from TXTSETUP.SIF, it is only from all
    that work that this Last Session.ini file could come about. So there
    isn't any logic in asking why this wasn't the way it was done last
    time. Once a decent MicroXP or Micro2003 had been made, like MicroXP
    v0.82, it then makes it easier to create a template Last Session.ini
    file.

    Updated to October 2008
    -----------------------

    Both editions of Windows include Windows Updates to October 14th 2008.

    This also includes the out of cycle hotfix KB958644.

    This means Windows is updated to Monday November 10th 2008. The day
    after that, the next lot of updates come out if there are any.

    Drivers for Thousands of Devices Installed Automatically With Windows
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    Boot options #1 and #3 are with added driverpacks to support:

    Chipset
    CPU
    Ethernet
    Graphics Cards
    Mass Storage devices
    SATA Drives
    Sound Cards
    Wireless LAN

    This is every 'Bashrat the Sneaky' official driverpack.

    Choosing this option means all your devices will work straight away,
    including SATA drives that normally require a floppy disk, many drivers
    that people often do not even realize they need, like proper chipset
    drivers. Don't just rely on the old XP drivers... DO take advantage of
    the option with driverpacks added.

    This option is recommended in all cases except on very old systems, but
    now there is even a solution to that, built into this new Micro-X disc!

    Windows XP is usually fine but with Server 2003 you might have a
    confusing time finding drivers, just use XP drivers, no one makes
    Server 2003 drivers, you always just use the XP drivers, but sometimes
    the installer refuses to install, this is why its vital on Micro2003
    to choose the option that has added driverpacks, its recommended for
    a good reason!

    NOTE: In this new edition you can now actually cancel the extraction of
    certain packs! When Windows is installing, after the first reboot, you
    will see a green Window pop up asking if you want to extract Chipset
    drivers. You have exactly 15 seconds to either press "1" to extract the
    driverpack to your hard disk, or press ESC to ignore the pack, of
    course if you press ESC then you will not have those drivers installed
    later on. Then a red window appears asking you to press "2" to extract
    CPU drivers, this carries on for all ten packs.

    The magic of this option is simple:

    1 - You can skip the extraction of the 3 big
    Graphics packs and the 2 big sound packs.
    On a really old system you'd possibly
    need to do this, because the packs will
    extract to be about 2GB on your hard disk.

    2 - The installation does not stop, the green
    window only appears for 15 seconds and if
    you do not press any keys at all then the
    driverpacks will all extract by default.

    So remember - you WILL need to be there sat at the PC after first reboot
    ONLY IF you want to cancel the extraction of certain packs. However you
    do not need to be sat there if you want an unattended install 100% - this
    IS a 100% unattended installation, that is the magic of it!

    NOTE: These packs, if all are extracted, take up approx. 2GB of space
    on your hard disk, but they are only temporarily extracted there and
    always deleted by the time Windows does its final reboot.

    Only the devices that you have plugged in and switched on will have
    their drivers installed.

    __________________________________________________ ______________________

    Added Programs - Optional Installs
    ----------------------------------

    There is a folder on this CD called 'APPS'.

    This is a menu with several programs where you can tick each box next
    to each program and have them all install one after the other without
    any user intervention.

    When you install any of the 4 options (1 to 4) from this ISO, you will
    have a desktop icon called "Install Programs". This brings up the main
    WPI menu with the tickboxes.

    This pack of applications includes:

    allSnap v1.33.2
    Atlantis Wordprocessor v1.6.1.9
    Comodo Firewall Pro v2.4.19.185
    DirectX 9c DLL Files 24 to 39
    Everything v1.1.4.301
    FoxIt PDF Suite v2.2.2129
    Internet Explorer 7
    IMG Burn v2.4.2.0
    Themes (Luna theme)
    Vista Aero Glass Theme
    WinRAR v3.80
    Windows Media Player 11

    Internet Explorer 7 is one installer for both MicroXP and Micro2003.
    Windows Media Player 11 is one installer for both MicroXP and Micro2003.

    There are not many other programs here and all are small in size, but
    some are so good you will wonder how you did without them, like the
    program 'Everything' that speeds up searching your hard disk to a speed
    millions of times faster than Windows search, or the program 'allSnap'
    where you can make your Windows click together like a magnet so you can
    line windows up together exactly.

    Also added here is the Vista Aero Glass theme, that uses Windowblinds
    to run it, but it is an amazingly accurate replica of the transparent
    Windows Vista Aero Theme. This not only works on Windows Server 2003
    but it even has the transparent glass effect on systems with barely
    any graphics card memory - for example, it works in VMware and that
    has 4Mb of emulated graphics memory! The Windows are transparent with
    this Windowblinds theme, even on that spec. The file size of that
    Aero Theme installer is under 4Mb - proving that you do not need the
    collosal 'Windows Vista' taking up your disk space and RAM to have
    this arguably beautiful theme on the go!

    Create a Separate ISO File
    --------------------------

    Lets say you are happy with MicroXP without drivers and want to make
    a small CD of just that option, option number two. This is easy, just
    look in the folder called 'ISO' and there you can make a standalone
    ISO file of any of the four options. No need to make this bootable,
    the process will take care of that itself, you only need to burn the
    ISO file to a CD as an image (NOT as a data disc!)

    This could be handy for 210Mb (8cm) CD's. MicroXP is well under the
    limit of 210Mb, in fact you could even include drivers by making an
    ISO of option #1 then open that ISO and delete the big 7z files, the
    ones starting with DP_G are graphics drivers, the ones starting with
    DP_S are sound drivers, if you delete those big .7z driverpacks out
    of the OEM folder on your ISO, it will shrink the size right down so
    then you could have a 210Mb CD with a lot of drivers still included.

    If you do this, you must not delete the file 'DPM805.7z' though! You
    can delete any other DP*.7z files. Note that if you delete the graphics
    files, you should also delete the file 'ATICCP.ins' which is also
    in the OEM folder.

    These separate ISO files do not include any APPS folder, or Acronis.
    Because there is no APPS folder there is also no link on the desktop
    to "Install Programs" either like there is in the 4 installations
    from the main boot screen, when you boot from the main Micro-X CD.

    [WHAT YOU CANNOT DO]

    This is a greatly reduced installation of Windows XP Professional SP3

    Please read these notes BEFORE using this edition of Windows:

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - SINGLE USER ONLY

    You cannot add any additional users. Do not try to add more users,
    otherwise your main account that is used by default (Administrator)
    will become the new account and after logging in, you will not have
    any desktop theme (not even Classic) and the whole account will be
    ruined. You'll probably have to install Windows again because if
    you make a new account it replaces Administrator and tries to
    log you in with Default User - the problem with this is - there
    is no Default User anymore.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO NATIVE SUPPORT FOR FTP SITES

    There is no built in support for downloading from FTP sites,
    try using Filezilla or WS_FTP if you need to do that. Even just
    Opera or Firefox can probably do it. This functionality is gone
    because the Application Layer Gateway service is gone, along
    with ALG.EXE that normally runs in Task Manager, taking up about
    6Mb RAM for what amounts to no reason.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO VISITING WINDOWS UPDATE

    You cannot visit Windows Update with this version of Windows
    because Internet Explorer is removed. You can manually download
    updates from Microsoft and you can also use the alternative
    Windiz Update website through Opera or Firefox. Because so
    much has been removed from this edition of Windows, you are not
    likely to be any more safe installing updates for Windows.
    NOTE: Because this edition of Windows uses a patched
    winlogon.exe in order to remove the oembios.bin file,
    you really should not update Windows anyway, in case
    winlogon.exe gets replaced by an update. There are more
    details about this in the eXPerience folder on the desktop
    once MicroXP is installed.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO FAST USER SWITCHING

    Apart from you only being able to have the one account anyway
    (Administrator) the ability to do Fast User Switching is also
    removed.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO PASSWORD STORAGE/AUTOCOMPLETE

    Windows will not save stored passwords, however, this only really
    applied to Internet Explorer and Outlook Express, which are removed.
    You will be fine using Firefox or Opera web browsers and Thunderbird
    email client for emails. Those are self contained programs and take
    care of storing your passwords by themselves.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO CD-ROM AUTOPLAY

    When you insert a CD that would bring up a screen to install the
    program contained on the CD, this does not happen in this version
    of Windows, you will have to explore the CD manually and run
    whatever file it is that runs the program's setup, usually
    setup.exe on the root of the CD. If the CD has a file called
    AUTORUN.INF then open that file and look at which .exe file
    is listed in AUTORUN.INF

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO SMART CARD DETECTION

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO SCHEDULED TASKS

    You cannot set programs, like AntiVirus or Hard Disk Defrag programs
    to run in the future IF they need the Scheduled Tasks service in
    Windows. If you are going to run those types of programs you will
    have to manually scan or defrag whenever it is convenient. Despite
    this, one program that will schedule its operations is Perfectdisk
    defrag, you do not need Task Scheduler for this program to run a
    scheduled defrag.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO REMOTE DESKTOP

    There is no Remote Desktop in this version of Windows
    because the Terminal Services service is removed.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY SERVICE

    I always thought UPS Service delivered parcels but apparently not,
    if you have this type of device then it will not work on this version
    of Windows. A UPS is only used for emergencies like if you have
    a power cut - thats if you even have such a device.

    __________________________________________________ ___________________

    [WHAT YOU CAN DO]

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - PROGRAMS -

    You can still install and run just about all the programs and games
    that you can run on a normal installation of XP. There is a text file
    in the eXPerience folder on the desktop that has a list of programs
    that work and includes some that don't work (not many). Even Office
    2007 installs on this version of Windows

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - GAMES -

    Up to now, there has not been one single report of any game not
    working on MicroXP. Gaming is what this edition of Windows is all
    about, it gives better benchmarks than any other version of
    Windows I have ever tested.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - LAN NETWORKING -

    At last - MicroXP now has the ability to browse your local network.
    All you need to know is the computer name of the computer you want
    to connect to and thats about it, just right click My Computer and
    choose Map Network Drive. All computers can see each other even
    if every computer in the network is running this MicroXP.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - CAMERAS AND SCANNERS

    Now in MicroXP it is possible to use a digital camera (USB only,
    no Firewire) or a scanner. Tested and working with a Fuji FinePix
    6MP camera. The Photo Printing Wizard is not included, neither
    is the wizard to download photos from the internet, but the rest
    of the functionality for cameras and scanners is as complete as
    in full Windows. My favourite saying: whats missing, you're not
    gonna miss! Print photos with Photoshop or maybe even Irfanview.
    Ctrl+P to print works in every single program that supports it,
    so its not like we ever needed the photo printing wizard, which
    only ever made all images I fed through it A4, even small images,
    so it actually did not even work, unless I skipped a button but
    there really are no buttons to skip in that wizard, its useless.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - DIAL-UP CONNECTION -

    You can still use a Dial-Up connection (Broadband or old 56k modem).
    This is the one major flaw in other stripped out operating systems,
    a lot of UK users still use a modem with broadband... in this
    edition, RAS Dial-Up/PPPoE/DSL/ADSL connectivity is OK as well
    as old 56k modems. Yes, try this install on a Pentium II or even
    an old 486 might run it! They had 75Mhz processors and 8Mb RAM
    with 4Mb graphics cards.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - WEB BROWSER -

    This installation already includes a basic web browser called
    Browzar that uses a few core files left from Internet
    Explorer. No, Internet Explorer is not included, but select
    files included in this installation that come from Internet
    Explorer are vital to running Windows. Its also Internet Explorer
    related files that allow you to open CHM files, which you can do
    in this edition of Windows. This Browzar web browser is only here
    so you can at least get online and download Firefox, Opera, Netscape
    or whatever browser you want. This not only saves space on this CD,
    but you get to choose what web browser you want to use and you get
    the latest version not an old and possibly insecure version. Flash
    v9.0.124.0 for Firefox and Opera is included, so Google Video and
    YouTube work straight away in whichever browser you install.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - PASSES WGA CHECKS

    If you go to download for example, Windows Media Player 11 from
    Microsoft's downloads section, you will need to validate windows
    by running the GenuineCheck.exe file that Microsoft asks you to
    download as part of the Windows Genuine Advantage checks. Its
    fine to do this, don't be scared of your key being blacklisted.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 11

    You can install Windows Media Player 11 in this edition of Windows.
    NOTE: Because the file WMPLOC.DLL is not in system32, Windows Media
    Player 11 will say that it could not complete setup or words to
    that effect. IGNORE THIS ERROR! Windows Media Player 11 is fully
    working after you install it and get that error, Windows Media
    Video type formats stream in Opera and Firefox still - so you can
    ignore that installation error. Just make sure if you install
    Windows Media Player 11 to have the Cryptographic Services
    service enabled. Windows Media Player 11 needs that service started
    to install. After installing Windows Media Player 11 you can then
    disable Cryptographic Services if you wish, like a lot of stuff
    in Windows, it doesn't really do anything important.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - WMV STREAMS -

    Once you have installed Windows media Player 11 - Opera, Firefox,
    Netscape or the browser of your choice can stream Windows Media
    Videos from websites like the BBC's News website, or anywhere
    that has WMV streams. This is possible because there are three
    DLL files added to the Windows Media Player folder in Program
    Files. Note that you do need to install Windows Media Player
    11 to view .WMV movies in web pages.

    Thank you for trying this special Micro2003 edition of Server 2003.

    With a WINDOWS folder that is only 217Mb and a CD size of just 104Mb,
    this has to be one of the smallest Server 2003 installations out there.

    Whats more - you can use 99% of the programs you always use and up to
    now there is not one report of any game not working in Micro2003.

    This installation only takes about 6 Minutes.

    This install includes default Server 2003 drivers
    for Ethernet/Sound/SCSI/RAID.

    It has all languages kept, except Chinese/Japanese/Korean.

    It has all keyboard layout choices kept.

    It also has Service Pack 2 final slipstreamed into it along with all
    post SP2 hotfixes to October 2008.

    LAN Networking is possible - Use 'Map Network Drive' and just put
    the computer name of the computer you want to network with.

    Digital Cameras and Scanners can also be used.

    [WHAT YOU CANNOT DO]

    This is a greatly reduced installation of Server 2003 SP2

    Please read these notes BEFORE using this edition of Windows:

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

There are more
    details about this in the eXPerience folder on the desktop
    once Micro2003 is installed.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO FAST USER SWITCHING

    Apart from you only being able to have the one account anyway
    (Administrator) the ability to do Fast User Switching is also
    removed.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO SMART CARD DETECTION

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO REMOTE DESKTOP

    There is no Remote Desktop in this version of Windows
    because the Terminal Services service is removed.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - NO UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY SERVICE

    I always thought UPS Service delivered parcels but apparently not,
    if you have this type of device then it will not work on this version
    of Windows. A UPS is only used for emergencies like if you have
    a power cut - thats if you even have such a device.

    __________________________________________________ ___________________

    [WHAT YOU CAN DO]

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - PROGRAMS -

    You can still install and run just about all the programs and games
    that you can run on a normal installation of Server 2003. There is a
    text file in the eXPerience folder on the desktop that has a list of
    programs that work and includes some that don't work (not many).
    Even Office 2007 installs on this version of Windows.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - GAMES -

    Up to now, there has not been one single report of any game not
    working on Micro2003. Gaming is what this edition of Windows is all
    about, it gives better benchmarks than any other version of
    Windows I have ever tested.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - LAN NETWORKING -

    At last - Micro2003 now has the ability to browse your local network.
    All you need to know is the computer name of the computer you want
    to connect to and thats about it, just right click My Computer and
    choose Map Network Drive. All computers can see each other even
    if every computer in the network is running this Micro2003.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    - CAMERAS AND SCANNERS

    Now in Micro2003 it is possible to use a digital camera (USB only,
    no Firewire) or a scanner.

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The internet is the last light of truth and hope...it is truly of the people, by the people and for the people. We must not let it be subverted for any purpose other than the truth. And that truth shall spread to every man woman and child across the globe. No longer will those in power carry the sole means to decide for us, yet we now shall have the power to decide to tune them out.

    Yeah there are some shitty releases/hacks of windows around but this is something else.

    You will be surprise how well these work.
    Your computer will fly like never before.

    many people say server 2003 runs faster, is more stable than windows xp. But some software won't run on server os, or you need the server edition of the program (some firewalls, antivirus ect. won't run on this). But games and most apps run just like on windows xp.
    Try them out and you will see.

    I do like 2003 better.
    i've been using server2003 for a while now and i'm yet to find a program that flat out doesn't work with it....

    XP is now with this release not sluggish post-install eXP but i'm willing to bet a testicle it will begin to lag over time and eventually slow to a crawl...

    i see no way that can be overcome....it's just the nature of XP - that's something server2003 will always have over it...longevity of use without lagging...

    imo, it's just something inherent in the underlying architecture of XP - something that can't be nLited out or manually removed....no ing idea what it is though....

    A shitty registry maybe

    If you are worried about software compatibility, get the bigger versions instead of the MICRO-X version

    Try these

    TinyXP Rev09 - eXPerience

    http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4206...9_-_eXPerience

    Tiny2003

    http://www.mininova.org/tor/1913256

    I have use Tiny2003 for ages now and swear by it.
    I have just installed TinyXP Rev09 and I am very impressed. I think it is the best XP install disc around. Maybe even the best Windows install.

    For me, it did BSOD on install but all I did is restart and it carried on. I was missing ethernet and a few minor chipset drivers but this was easily remedied by manufacturer drivers. It boots just as fast as server, although I prefer how the no "welcome" screen look from 2003, this can be fixed.

    Try both, why not? That said while 2003 rev 2 may use less ram, Tiny XP rev 9 is still XP and you won't encounter nearly as many problems as with 2003.

    I just installed TinyXP on a system I’m building for a friend, and I was amazed. I chose the “BARE” install without IE/OE/WMP, and it worked like a charm. It booted very quickly, and the ram usage was just above 70mb total!

    The idea behind TinyXP or MICRO-X is that most of the useless junk that comes with XP is stripped out, leaving only the bare essentials. This leaves you with a functional OS that’s much smaller and faster than the original bulky XP.

    If you need a really light and fast OS with a tiny memory footprint that won’t get in your way, I highly recommend TinyXP, Tiny2003 or Micro-X.

    TinyXP rev09 and Micro XP was made from native XP SP3, so it has all the latest fixes. Earlier versions, while great at the time, are now outdated.

    Also, the maker who goes by the name “eXPerience” gives several options to install — with IE or without, with updated driver packs or without…

    Just remember
    Burn the ISO (at a low speed), then boot from it.

    You aren’t supposed to extract the ISO. It’s a cd image that you’re supposed to burn. In Nero (or whatever program you use) you select “open image” or whatever and find the ISO you downloaded.

    - Try to burn as slow speed as possible.

    - Burn this .iso file via "burn from image" in Nero.

    - install your programs/games

    - make a image of your windows drive partition with Acronis back-up (that way you can restore if you have a problem)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    K-Lite Mega Codec Pack - This will install but it gives an error
    about "Ivfsrc.ax". This file cannot be registered because Windows
    Media Player is not present. Just click Ignore to the error when
    installing K-Lite, I have never noticed any bad effects of not
    having this file. SOLUTION: use VLC Player or Media Player
    Classic (thats included with K-Lite Mega Codec Pack) to play
    WMV and WMA files or you can even install Windows Media Player
    11 if you want. If you want to stream WMV videos in Firefox/Opera
    then you will have to install Windows Media Player 11.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    [SOFTWARE THAT WILL NOT WORK]

    Flash Player ActiveX version for IE - might not install. SOLUTION - You already
    have the Flash plugin file (NPSWF32.dll) for playing FLV flash movies in Opera
    or Firefox. You can still play SWF files with the standalone SWF player "Swiff
    Player" because the "flash.ocx" file is present and registered in
    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed". However, if you try to install Adobe Flash
    Player, it seems to unregister this OCX file again making Swiff Player not
    work. SOLUTION - Go into "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed" and double click the
    "flash.ocx" file, this will register it again and "Swiff Player" will play
    SWF files again.

    GFI LanGuard Enterprise - "Access violation at address "00425BEE" in module
    'lnss.exe'. Read of address 00000008". This program starts but you contnue
    to get this access violation error all the time.

    Mailwasher Pro - This starts up and opens the GUI but says "Access Violation
    at address 0069AC42 in module 'Mailwasher.exe'. Read of address FFFFFFFF".

    Mainconcept Personal Video Recorder - "PVR Engine Construction Failure: 0x80040154"

    MediaMonkey Gold - Cannot run, this gives an error saying "Couldn't find Microsoft
    Access Database Driver". MediaMonkey Gold requires both the "MDAC" and "Jet Database"
    components, which are both removed.

    MediaPortal - This will not run, gives an "Unhandled Exception" error.

    Musicmatch Jukebox Plus - Will not run.

    RatDVD - Comes up with an error - Module name: C:\Program Files\ratDVD\XEBEncoder.exe.
    Does not mention any missing files, either in the Windows GUI, or in Filemon = no fix.

    Rootkit Revealer - reports an error with CMD.EXE.

    SiSoftware Sandra Enterprise - Cannot install because MDAC is removed.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    make a backup of your registry before scanning or fixing any problems. There is a

    WMA files.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    [SOFTWARE THAT WILL NOT WORK]

    Core Media Player - Will not run.

    CPU-Z - Will not run.

    Diskeeper 2007 - This cannot start the service it installs. Diskeeper
    cannot install on Server 2003 anyway, but you can just hack the MSI
    file with the "Fix MSI.vbs". This is how I got it to start installing,
    but it cannot start its own service near the end of the installation.
    nevermind, just use Perfectdisk server edition, Perfectdisk outperforms
    all other defrag programs anyway, plus even without "Task Scheduler"
    you can still schedule Perfectdisk to defrag in the future.

    Flash Player - Will not install. SOLUTION - You already have the Flash
    plugin file (NPSWF32.dll) for playing FLV flash movies in Opera or
    Firefox. You can still play SWF files with the standalone SWF player
    "Swiff Player" because the "flash.ocx" file is present and registered

    Player" will play SWF files again.

    GFI LanGuard Enterprise - Will not run, pops up a small window that is blank
    and says "Error" in the window title with no window text.

    Musicmatch Jukebox Plus - Will not run.

    RatDVD - Cannot be used on Server 2003.

    Rootkit Revealer - reports an error with CMD.EXE.

    SiSoftware Sandra Enterprise - Cannot install because MDAC is removed.

    SnagIt - "Internal Error 2755"

    Symantec Antivirus Corporate - This can be installed but Live Update
    will not work, meaning you cannot update the virus definitions.

    Virtual PC 2007 - This will install and run but when you start the virtual
    machine, it will not start, there are no errors shown, the virtual machine
    just does not show any boot text or start up, its just a black screen.
    SOLUTION = Use "VMware Workstation" instead.

    Re: Micro-X (MicroXP and Micro2003) Multi Boot CD

    ok....got it burnt and loaded!?it is fast to boot and shutdown!?but like i said,it's a crapshoot with programs working out of the box!?i'm looking into vmware portable program maker!?the idea is interesting!?programs are not permanently integrated onto your system so you will always retain your stable personal environment!?if we consider the computer a model of the human mind,I SAY it's DEFINITELY/DEFINITIVELY the WAY to go!?they also offer a way to exchange your basic operating environment at will!?again,flexibility and freedom being the goal!?to whatever end is the only question!?it seems naturally headed in the direction of the expression of productive creativity!?the raising of consciousness!?of course,i have only found it/been interested now!?i heard of it before but was not interested!?i did however download earlier versions,just never got around to trying them!?: :crazy1: :spin2: hehe!!.....just askn...
