    Kraft Foods coupon scam

Kraft Foods owns a line of snack bars called South Beach Living. Some of these come in boxes of six small bars and the retail is $6, maybe $5.25 on sale.

They did a promotion where they put those bright orange "BUY 1, GET ONE FREE" sticker/coupons right on the box.

So you would assume that if you grab two boxes and take the coupon off at the checkout, you would only get charged for one box, right? Not quite!

The coupon has some fine print that says "value up to $1.81". Yes, knowing full well that the product will NEVER sell for that little, they still promote it as getting one box for free.

    THIS IS FRAUD!

When I checked out, the checker was kind enough to point this out to me because he had to give the cash equivalent. A lot of people would never know unless they scanned over the receipt later.

It doesnt sound like kraft did it as a scam. The kraft vendor from that store may not have been paying attention and instead of putting the stickers on the singles they put it on the box. A company like Kraft is not going to scam you especially w/ such an easy thing to spot.
    Now quit your yappin!! :2gunsfiring_v1:

I really doubt anyone at Kraft considers what they did as scam. But it is.

These particular snack bars are only being sold in a box of six. And the coupon was WAY too big to be stuck on individual bars. The coupons CLEARLY said buy one BOX, get one BOX FREE. These boxes came from the plant with those stickers on them.

They NEVER put coupons like that on individual bars, instead they will have a price label on the shelf that will say buy one bar, get the second free.

The best way to rationalize all this is that Kraft intended to have two for one on some individual bars, but the communications got so screwed up, and totally unthinking idiots rubber stamped it. so that it ended up being the scam that it is.
