    Tornados on the ground

Fun morning. A tornado or high wind cell passed through outside of town. Snapped trees in half and blew over 5 semi's on I30 between Hooks, TX and Texarkana, TX. Traffic is stopped or severly slowed down.

There is a tornado right now on the ground heading towards Genoa, AR. and will reach them in 5 minutes. 9:00AM CST

So, it's an exciting day in the neighborhood today.

I use to say I was glad I didn't live in Tornado alley but the last few years, we have even gotten a couple twisters here and there...certainly not on the scale that you would see but still scary.

I've lived here 18 years and this is the first year that we have had tornadoes within 10 miles of us.

Not a bad average. But this makes two in less than two weeks.

And I'm betting it has something to do with sun spots and weather changes. It's only going to get worse before it gets better.

I grew up in California, survived the San Fernando earthquake of 1971,

which woke us up at a rude 6:00 in the morning and slung us all over the place.

I prefer tornadoes to earthquakes any day. LOL. You can usually see them coming and get the hell out of the way.

Death by disaster is ultimately more preferable to death by wasting disease.

LOL, it was more like get the hell out of the front office and find something to do in the back where I wasn't surrounded by big huge windows on two sides.

It took all day and may still be going on for all I know, moving those trees and semi's off the highway.

I wonder what will happen next week?

Well, at least you have a front row seat!:crazy1:
Just think, most of that stuff you get there comes up through East Texas, just west of here, turns and heads your way. Otherwise, it goes :back-door" to the South of us and then turns and heds north. Not sure about why most of it steers around here...
    Namaste...:rasta:
