    Is Liveops As Good As It Looks?

    Someone just told me about the Liveops work-at-home opportunity and I'm checking it out right now so I'd like any feedback on the program if anyone ACTUALLY HAS ANY EXPERIENCE WITH IT.

    I have heard good things about them, and I think they allow you pick your own hours.

    Alright, so I have already tried to start a thread just like this one...and have gotten a few answers...you can view it. I think I called it "tell me your experience" or something like that. It was pretty recent. But, the answers that are there were not exactly what I am looking for, which is exactly what you are looking for.

    Since I really can't get any immediate answers, and I am a bit impatient, I went ahead and googled liveops.
    DO THIS!!! There are other blogs about people who have actually worked for them. Also there is a really good article/blog or whatever. it is http://ventureblog.com/articles/2007...ss_selfp_1.php
    Read it. It explains perfectly how it works.
    I would say to first visit their website and read through all of their facts and questions and then read other people's blogs. It will help to tie everything together to one big idea.
    And after all research, my conclusion is this...
    you have nothing to lose. Buy a headset...an extra telephone line (for only a couple of months if it is in fact not worth it...) and that is about it.
    I have already filled out the application to become an independent agent with them. I will definitely let everyone know how this works out for me.

    Oh wait, no one replied to that thread. It was the one about cloud 10 that a few people replied to. you might be interested in Cloud 10 if liveops looks like something that you might like. I know more about Cloud 10 than liveops because I have actually been interviewed and made it to the next step but have not accepted any jobs. So if you have any questions just let me know.

    I currently work for Live Ops and it is a very good company to work for. I work the PH and P*ofl***rs line and it is very busy. The pay is per talk time and you get paid on the 1st and 16th of every month. You get to schedule the hours that you want in 30 minute increments which is very convenient if you have things you need to do throughout the day.

    I seen the story they did about this company on Good Morning American and they say its legitimate. I have been considering applying. The things I don't like that I read on the site is that you have to have a second phone line put in that they do not reimburse you for. You have to pay them $50.00 for a background check also non refundable.

    Wife and I were recently considering Liveops. Biggest concern we saw was with the contract agreement, where it says that not only will we not blame them for any risks, but we have to defend their officers and other employees should someone - such as a consumer - file a claim. So if we sell a product that they are promoting and a customer gets ill or injured and gets soo angry that they want to sue everyone (the product maker, us and Liveops) thus the contract says we have to hire a lawyer to not only defend ourselves but those at liveops as well.

    My thought is the only safe ways to deal with this is to attempt to get liveops (longshot) to modify the contract and/or incorporate our business.

    Any thoughts???

    I have worked with LiveOps for 3 years now. Yes, you choose your own schedule. Yes, you get paid per talking minute. And Yes, I stand behind LiveOps and truly enjoy the work. There are many different lines you can work, inbound and outbound. This is a legit virtual call center folks, as well as West and Alpine. I enjoy working with LiveOps and find it a blessing to have this opportunity.

    Oh and btw, yes that is true, but it pays for itself almost immediately. I write the phone line off on my taxes, as we are independently contracted. I did not think about doing that with the background check, but I suppose one could as well.

    In order to make that amount you have to be a pushy salesperson. I know someone who does Live Ops and it is not enjoyable (unless you happen to be the salesperson type)

    Also, another thing you have to be careful about is that you dont have anyone to talk to. They assign supervisors or "go to " people (I forget what my friend called them) but those supervisors dont care. Live Ops does have its fair share of problems (just to be able to work or get into the system so you are able to answer calls and do your job) and if you try to solve a problem, instead of working with you, the so called supervisors just try to blame you. When that happens they put "marks" on your score, which results in you waiting around for phone calls. Basically not paying while you are waitng for phone calls. You'd be better off getting a job at McDonald's that actually pays at least minimum wage. Don't take my word for it, try it for yourself and see how long you are "waiting around" for phone calls. I personally have not tried Live Ops, I just feel that they need to warn employees of potential problems.

    And yes, we are educated. I think that only "some agents" have good experiences, so good luck, hope you are the top 10 percent. If not, hope you have a plan B (so dont end up wasting your time and money for nothing)

    :I don't think it is exactly fair what you said about LiveOps since it is second hand info and no job is easy. I actually have worked for them for over 3 yrs. I have no clue how long your source worked for them. I recommend they try harder and work more as you do get paid on time and it is a job. Something alot of people don't have right now. I have had cancer and other health issues for over 4 yrs. and can't work out of the home. No, I don't get disability from anyone either. So it is very important I work. It hasn't been easy and I am over 55 and had alot of other regular jobs as we move around for my husband's job and am a military brat to start. Yes, this is a 1099 job but remember you are a business and have deductions.: I love working from home so don't knock it till you try it!! Please be fair next time and if I can take the stress sometimes so can you. It has made me independent and helped my skills in many good ways not just bad. Of course I haven't had a dream life so maybe that is why I cherish any job. Though I do think everyone has a right to a opinion.:spin2:

    I hope I'm responding correctly, I am a novice at this, but I just want to thank you for all of the responses. I work in a HR office as a Benefits and Compensation Specialist and for the past 2 years have not been able to work full-time. I do have a LTD benefit however even with that my financial obligations are barely being met. I have been searching for stress-less work I can do from home that will make a difference in my life and other peoples lives. I tried a lot of online work that did not work for me. I recently heard about Westathome and Liveops and the first place I came to, to check them out was this website (scam.com). Because of the comments in particular leigh88, I'm feeling a glimmer of hope. I'm not sure which company I will looking into first but again. Thank you All.

    Response: Really sorry to hear about your illness, hope you can find a good doctor. You are right tho, I pushed my friend to work harder so we will see. I have been supporting my friend financially which is why I was a little bitter. The only thing we did not like was that alot of customers call to complain that other LiveOps agents would transfer the call if it were a low sale to try to get their stats up. My friend ends up taking alot of calls and servicing calls for free because of this. Ultimately I have to pay because I am helping my friend. Its like if you see a promotion and you call to order something. Let's say the agent who answers doesnt like the fact that you want to order the "special" so that agent transfers your call. If somewhere down the line, someone actually takes the order then great, but if not, the customer just gets hung up on. Or another thing, customer calls to order the "special" but alot of agents dont want their stats to go down so they charge the customer full price. My friend gets complaints on that too. Its not fair, that we have to pay for something another agent does. The only solution I can see is just to do the same thing. Since this is a competitive business, why does my friend need to be so nice to service those customers for free because another agent didnt bother to service the customer. I basically told my friend to do what those other agents do, because no one really rewards the good agents who actually try to establish a good reputation for the client that hired LiveOps to take their call. This is not directed at you. I am sure you are a good agent. I am only talking about the agents who play that game. If I ever try Live Ops in the future, I would just do what everyone else is doing instead of what my friend does (actually servicing and trying to help customers)
