    Help Finding something..

This is out of the ordinary, but not spam or anything...

I am looking a piece of sheet music.

it is the song "Round midnight" arranged by "Slide Hampton"

for those familiar with it, I am looking for the rare six trombone arrangement of the song. I have had no luck finding it so far.

If any of you find it let me know.

If not thanks for trying anyway.

Hey Racer, what record label is it on? You might be able to track it down via them?

Sorry, maybe i wasnt clear. I am not looking for the cd or a recording of it, but the actual music to be read on an instrument. If there were any other musicians here, I was just checking if anyone could help.

    thanks though.

Oh, you were clear, I said what I meant, and I meant what I said...and I would still look into that line of discovering what your looking for...Also, if Berkley School of Music has a website, that would be the first place I would look...In fact, that is a much better idea than the record lable (I was thinkin' possible links to the written music...) But I bet Berkley's library would have that!:

    Hi RR,

I'll try to help you though I'm not sure that I've found what you need, because I didn't find the specific sheets music. I think maybe you'll be more lucky...

I've found some web-sites with the sheets music. Part of them in Russian but I think you'll come to know the particulars of it there. If you'll need the translator, this good enough: http://translation2.paralink.com/

    Music library: http://roisman.narod.ru/compnotes.htm#Barat
    Wind Orchestra Sheet Music: http://www.partita.ru/
    Indiana University music library: http://www.dlib.indiana.edu/variations/scores/
Sheet Music Archives of Classic: http://www.all-music.boom.ru/

Also, if you'll put these words Нотная библиотека in Google search, you'll find a lot of links to Sheet Music Libraries in Russian net.

    Good luck.

"Round Midnight" is a master-composition. It remains popular and at the top in the Jazz wold.
I will keep a look out...

Thanks all for looking. BiR, I didnt find it, but thanks for the sites.

Jigglepete, That is a great version you found, but I am looking for something different. it would be for six trombones, or a sextet.

Once again, Thank you all for taking the time to help me. I'll repay you somehow. maybe.

There was actually a film made with the title: "'Round [or Around] Midnight". It was the true life story of one of the Jazz Artis 'greats' - Perhaps "Herbie Hancock"; not sure, but that was about ten years, or so ago. I remembered watching it. It was a good story.
