Is Global warming Really the Cause?!?

So i found a very interesting Article on AOL this morning

Big Rainstorms, Snowfalls on the Rise

(Dec. 5) -- Across the United States, the number of severe rainfalls and heavy snows has grown significantly in the last half-century, with the greatest increases in New England and the Middle Atlantic region, according to a report released yesterday
Environment America, a national group that advocates new laws and policies to mitigate the effects of climate change, issued the report.

The report, on the group’s Web site, environmentamerica.org, is an independent analysis of precipitation data from 1948 to 2006 that was vetted by two climate scientists.

It shows that the number of downpours and heavy snows has increased by 22 percent to 26 percent across the country since 1948. Louisiana, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont were among the states in which occurrences of severe precipitation have increased more than 50 percent, according to the report. In Oregon and Florida, however, the incidence of extreme rainfall dropped slightly, though in Florida the drop was not statistically significant.

In some metropolitan areas, like Baton Rouge, La.; Binghamton, N.Y.; Bloomington, Ind.; Jackson, Miss.; Portland, Me.; and Reading and Williamsport, Pa., occurrences of extreme precipitation more than doubled.

“As temperatures rise,” the report notes, “precipitation will become increasingly likely to fall as rain rather than snow, increasing runoff and likely reducing water supplies in areas dependent on snowpack.”

The report’s release happened to coincide with the arrival of a destructive storm in the Pacific Northwest, where high winds and heavy rains flooded highways and left thousands of residents without power, prompting the governors of Oregon and Washington to declare states of emergency.

One scientist who reviewed the report, David Easterling, of the federal National Climatic Data Center, said that it contributed some new information on localized occurrence of extreme weather to the existing scientific literature. The findings of increasingly heavy rainfalls and snowfalls, Mr. Easterling said, are consistent with the prediction that climate change is likely to increase the intensity of storms.

“If you warm up the air, the air can hold more moisture,” he said. “And the amount it increases is not linear; it goes up exponentially.”

Another report released yesterday, by the Pew Center on Global Climate Change, and posted on its Web site, pewclimate.org, detailed predicted impacts of climate change on four parts of the country — the Midwest, the Gulf Coast, Western forests and the Chesapeake Bay.

The authors said the Midwest was likely to endure more prolonged and intense heat waves, while the increase in Western wildfires was likely to accelerate. Climate change is also predicted to put more stress on the Louisiana coastal wetlands and to worsen an existing problem in the Chesapeake Bay of a summer “dead zone,” an area where the oxygen has been depleted.

So what do you guys think?!? Is Global Warming real or fake?! This Article and study seems to contradict Global warming.

Nah, it doesn't contradict global warming, but it's a little counterintuitive. In short, heating up the system gives it more energy, and in this case the system is the precipitation/evaporation system. Adding more energy to that system means more water evaporates and this, therefore, leads to more precipitation.

Here is a pie chart that illistrates the ratio of all greenhouse gasses and how much of that pie humans contribute to Global Warming. It is pathetically nothing in comparison to what nature produces.

Anyone that says most of the global warming is caused by man made CO2 hasn't even looked at the basic numbers.

    Criticism and support

Office of Science and Technology Policy director, John Holdren,[10] told the U.S. Senate Republican Policy Committee in June 2003, "Michaels is another of the handful of U.S. climate-change contrarians … He has published little if anything of distinction in the professional literature, being noted rather for his shrill op-ed pieces and indiscriminate denunciations of virtually every finding of mainstream climate science."[11] In 2009 Michaels responded in a Washington Examiner Op-Ed, saying that the IPCC had subverted the peer review process, and adding the IPCC had "left out plenty of peer-reviewed science that it found inconveniently disagreeable."[12]

Climate scientist Tom Wigley,[13] a lead author of parts of the report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, has stated that "Michaels' statements on the subject of computer models are a catalog of misrepresentation and misinterpretation … Many of the supposedly factual statements made in Michaels' testimony are either inaccurate or are seriously misleading."[14]

Michaels received praise for his book, "Climate of Extremes: Global Warming Science They Don't Want You to Know" from University of Alabama-Huntsville Principal Research Scientist Roy Spencer, who wrote, "Michaels and [Co-Author Robert] Balling have provided a treasure trove of the latest global warming science."[15] Will Happer, Professor of Physics and Former Chairman of the University Research Board at Princeton University, also praised the book and wrote it "...provides important and honest information about climate change that is hard to find elsewhere."[16]

Funding from energy or fossil fuel companies

On January 25, 2011, Rep. Henry Waxman sent a letter to Rep. Fred Upton seeking to call in Michaels for questioning about his science and funding. In the letter, Waxman wrote that Pat Michaels testified before the Energy and Commerce Committee in February 2009 "that widely accepted scientific data had 'overestimated' global warming and that regulation enacted in response to that data could have 'a very counterproductive effect.' Among the scientists who testified before this Committee on the issue of climate change in the last Congress, Pat Michaels was the only one to dismiss the need to act on climate change ... Dr. Michaels may have provided misleading information about the sources of his funding and his ties to industries opposed to regulation of emissions responsible for climate change."[17]
On July 27, 2006 ABC News reported that a Colorado energy cooperative, the Intermountain Rural Electric Association, had given Michaels $100,000.[18] An Associated Press report said that the donations had been made after Michaels had "told Western business leaders ... that he was running out of money for his analyses of other scientists' global warming research" and noted that the cooperative had a vested interest in opposing mandatory carbon dioxide caps, a situation that raised conflict of interest concerns.[19]
According to Fred Pearce, fossil fuel companies have helped fund Michaels' projects, including his World Climate Report, published every year since 1994, and his "advocacy science consulting firm", New Hope Environmental Services.[20]
yeah, he's an unbiased player in this game.

Yes, edmund129, I couldn't agree with you more. Did you know that if the total amount of CO2 in our atmosphere would be represented as the length of the GoldenGate Bridge then the total amount of CO2 contributed by humans in Australia is equivalent to the width of a human hair laid down along that bridge? Our introduction of carbon tax has crippled our economy. As if the Global Financial Crisis hadn't already done enough damage over here. Carbon tax is a scam!!!
