    What . . . has science . . . done . . .

for you today? Or better yet, what have the scientists spending
all their time on this board done to improve their life or the lives
of others, which should be the motivation behind science, no?

How is it in the name of science you can sit on these chat rooms
for so long, when people are dying of disease you braniacs could
    be finding cures for?

Why? Thank God my faith is not in science, although there
is nothing wrong with science, it has not done anything for me
today, unlike the true and living God, which has blessed me
    with another day!

Try as I have, I can find no cure for you. Your Postus Nonsensecus appears to be fatal.

No worries, you just sit there an pray for an end to war, an end to disease. Let us know when you have something.

Hey, you know what....murderers, pedophiles, dishonst people...will all wake up to a new day also. So, has God blessed them...and if he did...how did he bless you?

Still no intelligent answer from so many "evolved" minds.

To those that did wake up today, God blessed them with a new
    day, that is correct.

God has blessed me in so many ways.

I don't pray for an end to war or disease, I pray for those that
suffer because of it and those that are deceived by the great
deceiver. How can I not pray for an end to war and disease?
Because war and disease will end for those that have put
their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. However, for those
that have not, the Bible is clear that on this earth war
will not end, disease will not end and for those that have
NOT put their faith in Christ, the afterlife is eternity in hell, which is full of torment.
Heaven is the only place free from war and disease.
    May you seek the truth.

What have you done? I doubt scientist spend all of their time on this board. Got up (digital clock), have electricty, warm running water, antibacterial soap, able to make breakfast (household appliances), clothes, etc. Computer Science allows me to do my job.

By the way, I have just shown a religious lady how to spell "Caribbean" using spell check. I always show her how to use the computer in my free time.

The basest motivation for science isn't so that you can have a better toaster or even a better vaccine, but the basic pursuit of knowledge and understanding. Who are you to judge science, and what in the world is the point of this post at all, other than to trash an institution for which you have no understanding or respect?

I hope someone real close to you falls really ill today, where they are in excruciating pain every minute of the day. And all you got was your faith. Look that person in the eye and deny them medical attention that science would be able to provide them, and pray. Pray real hard for God's blessing and hope that your conscious can let you sleep at night.

Nice side-step. Again, an answer filled with nother but babble.

You really are ignorant...not regular ingnorance but, pig-ignorant.

Look all around you...your work, you transportation, your entertainment, your health, your family's health, your safety...is all due to the work of people doing science throughout the years.

Wanna know how and what science has done for you?....Walk deep into the woods, take nothing with you, remove all your clothing (textile processes defined by science and synthetics), ...and see how long you survive on faith.

    I am not judging science.

The point of the post is to elicit a discussion as to why those
that put their "faith" in science, spend most of their time
    not contributing to it?

I would like those of you on here to tell us all what you have
contributed to science, other than argument for it.

The only one side-stepping and twisting my original post is you.
Look at all of the questions in my original post, has nothing to
do with my opinion on science it is yours that I am seeking.
Instead of intelligently answering the questions you have taken
the much lower road in trying to bash me. Good luck with that,
    intellegencia at work.

We have had discussions before and you always seem to miss
the point. A self proclaimed genius should take the time to read
the whole post and see I have made no disclaim of science, just
wondering why those that put their "faith" in it spend so much
time on here? That's all, I love what science has done.
By the way someone close to me has severe skin cancer and
is going through treatments that make him sicker and sicker
and he knows that ultimately what happens to him in this
life is out of his control, but he knows beyond a shadow of a
doubt that when this body passes, his spirit will live eternally
in heaven with God and His Savior Jesus Christ.
Science can not give you that hope, only Jesus can.

    Re: What . . . has science . . . done . . .

First off, "Faith" has nothing to do with Science....it applies to Religion...ya know, somthing without proof.

    Science requires understanding.

I'm not a scientist. I'm a graphics designer/usability specialist who minored in the Biological Sciences.

I have a good understanding of the sciences and argue for the sciences when I see people like the Discovery Institute trying to indoctrinate our children by undermining science when they try to introduce pseudo-science, like Intelligent Design, in our school systems.

Or….when he see some ignorant person type something like…” …I didn’t come from apes!....” or, “ there are no transitional fossils…” or the world is only 6000 years old.

You have to love the pursuit of knowledge to understand that. I agree with Qi123 and you. Thankfully, when most scientists discover a wonderful principle or new and beneficial treatment or idea, they are kind enough to share it with humanity. The fact that one would love the pursuit of understanding in the physical sciences confuses those such as enlightenme007 becuse of their extreem ignorance and hatred for all reality based science. Blunt as this sounds, it is true.
