So no, nobody changed anything in the way you speak of. It's merely evidence of the belief structure changing and *****ing, as belief structures tend to do over hundreds of years. Whatever implications this may entail I leave to you.
Actually, the Bible hell is the same all the way through, except in a few instances where 'hell' (sheol) is used pictorially, or in the case where Jesus presented a parody of that which the Jews had adopted from Grecian mythology (that is, in his parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus). Jesus did not present his parody for the purpose of condoning their apostasy of adopting and adapting Greek mythology; he presented a parody of their adoption of such mythology for the purpose of demonstrating that the law and the prophets were until John the Baptist. (Luke 16:16) Overall, the Bible hell is the same all the way through both Old and New Testaments.

Man was sentenced to death, and its resulting condition (Ecclesiastes 9:10) due to the sin of Adam. (Romans 5:12-19; 1 Corinthians 15:21,22) Jesus is not spending an eternity of suffering for pay the wages of sin, but as a human being, he gave himself -- his human body -- as a ransom sacrifice for all eternity. (Romans 6:23; 1 Timothy 2:5,6; 1 Corinthians 15:21,22; Hebrews 10:10) Jesus presented himself to the only true God as the lamb to be sacrificed for the sin of the world, and having given his flesh for the life of the world (John 6:51), he is no longer in the days of his flesh (Hebrews 5:7), but was made alive as a spirit being. -- 1 Peter 3:18.

Because Jesus paid the eternal price for sin, the whole world will be delivered from the condition of hades. The believer in this age is reckoned (imputed as, counted as) justified and alive (Romans 3:28; 4:3-24; 6:11; Galatians 3:6), as saved by hope (Romans 8:24), awaiting the actual resurrection of the dead in the last day, while the unbeliever is to be delivered from death (the condemnation in Adam) and hades (the result of the condemnation in Adam) in the "last day" for judgment according to their works at that time by means of the books that are opened to them in that last day when the knowledge of Yahweh will fill the earth without Satan's deceptions. In that age, to come, it will only be those who willfully do not bring themselves into heart harmony with God that will to into the second death, the lake of fire. -- Psalm 96:10-13; 98:4-9; Isaiah 2:2-4; 11:9; John 5:28,29; 6:39,40,44,54; 11:24; 12:47,48; Acts 17:31; Revelation 20:3,11-15; 21:1-8.

I might add that when Job was written, Satan was already known and understood to be; he was already understood to have been existing in Jewish belief. Job was not introducing the idea of Satan to Jewish thought (Job 1:6), as it evidently was already in existence, and, from the what we read in Revelation 12:9, as compared with Jesus' words in John 8:44, it is probable that the term was used of the one who made himself an adversary of Yahweh from the very beginning, back to the temptation in the Garden of Eden.

Satan is reason for the universe. There were 25 angels in heaven when Satan separated Himself (itself) from the throne of God.

All the other angels surrounded Satan, unaware of his intention. Striking with his mouth like a snake, Satan attacked them. One of the angels told God Satan was hurting them. God attempting to resolve the problem, but to no avail. Satan continued to attack the other angels.

God created the universe as a prison for Satan.

Revelation is the most accurate depiction of God and His angels. The twenty four elders are angels. I believe in the very beginning Satan was God's first angel.

God created paradise on earth where all creations reveled in His glory, beauty and Holiness. That was during the time of the dinosaurs. Satan entered the world and turned all creatures away from God. From that time, homo sapiens e v o l v e d to where they are today. There is more to the story about God and humankind, but this is about Satan.

After attempting to reconcile things with His chosen people, God came into the world as Jesus Christ (a final and last attempt). That's when Satan had his revenge, Revelation 11:7. "the beast that comes from the abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them." The two witnesses are God. God is two entities in one, both equal in power, glory and Holiness.

Satan has little time left. Rev. 12:12. "He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short."

That's the short history of Satan.

There is no hell, only death. For that read Genesis 3:19. "for dust you are and to dust you will return."

With the fall of paradise, God's creatures lost eternal life.

Hell is in earth. If a person does mistakes, he gets punishment in this earth in many forms and both directly or indirectly. God has punished him for his misdeeds. Hell is nowhere, it is in earth.
