    http://prototypedesignservice.com Anyone heard of them?

I recently received a Job offer from Prototype Design Service (http://prototypedesignservice.com/). A work at position as a project manager making $1,600 every 2 weeks + Commision. I need to know if it is a scam. They have sent me the paperwork to fill out for employment, including a W4. Here is a copy of the most recent email that had the employment attachments

    Good afternoon,

Thanks for such a prompt reply and my apologies for a delay with the reply! I'm sending you our standard employment package in the attachment to this message; it includes our Employment Agreement and a W4 for your income tax deductions. Just to remind you, as a Project Manager you will build and maintain the local customer network, as well as follow the existing leads and assist in closing the deals with potential customers. Relocation or travel is not required, as this role is performed out of your home. This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a known industry leader with an expanding customer base, proven technology and strong market demand.

The starting salary of $3,100/$1,600 is given before taxes, and this is a guaranteed salary, not a commission. As for work schedule options, you can work either part-time, or full-time, the only must is your availability during the morning hours, 9am to 1pm in your time zone. Most of the assignments are given in the morning, so it's crucial you're up and available then. Being a work-from-home job, this opportunity will allow you to manage your time efficiently while setting priorities for your daily duties yourself.

Finally, the training: it's carried out online and takes a couple of days. I will supply you with the guides and manuals to read, explain our general procedures, and in less than 3 days you will be ready for your first clients. We'll start with a single client to get you a better understanding of the job, and then we'll see if you can multitask.

Please print out, sign and send the employment documents back to me by email or by fax: (603) 717-0407, I will review them and set you up an account at our corporate server to work remotely. If you have questions, please feel free to send them to me, and I will be calling you on Monday to confirm everything.

Since we work with both individuals, and businesses, we offer a unique partnership option available for business owners only. If you would like to become our official partner, you will be eligible for additional options, such as the access to supporting large corporate contracts with extended bonuses. Plus, our partners usually receive the increased fixed monthly compensation of $6,000; we also provide our partners with individual assistants, an opportunity to represent our company at various industry events, sponsored business trips, etc. Let me know if you own a business and would like to get the paperwork for partnership, please."

I used to work for them till this summer, then quit because I finally started a business of my own. Didn't fancy seeing their name here for sure) Can't say anything about a PM position, I worked in sales, got my commission from each successfully closed lead, no BS here.

I emailed them back and asked that they call me before I fill any information out. I have not heard from them since then. The location that it shows on the website looks like it is in the middle of the woods and that also threw up a flag for me.

Re: http://prototypedesignservice.com Anyone heard of them?

    100% scam.

There is no job. There is only a scammer trying to steal your hard-earned money.

The next email will be from another of the scammer's fake names and free email addresses pretending to be the "secretary/assistant/accountant" and will demand you accept a fake bank deposit. The deposit will be from a stolen credit card, hi-jacked paypal account or phished bank account. You are then suppose to withdrawal the money before your bank realizes the transfer was made with stolen money. You are suppose to send the "money" via Western Union or moneygram back to the scammer posing as the "supply company" while you "keep" a small portion. When the credit card/paypal/bank account owner realizes their money is in your account, your bank reverses the transfer now you get the real life job of paying back the bank for all the bank's money you sent to an overseas criminal.

Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever.

Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.

6 "Rules to follow" to avoid most fake jobs:
    1) Job asks you to use your personal bank account and/or open a new one.
    2) Job asks you to print/mail/cash a check or money order.
    3) Job asks you to use Western Union or moneygram in any capacity.
    4) Job asks you to accept packages and re-ship them on to anyone.
    5) Job asks you to pay visas, travel fees via Western Union or moneygram.
    6) Job asks you to sign up for a credit reporting or identity verification site.

Avoiding all jobs that mention any of the above listed 'red flags' and you will miss nearly all fake jobs. Only scammers ask you to do any of the above. No. Exceptions. Ever. For any reason.

If you google "fake check cashing job", "fake job bank account Western Union scam", "money mule moneygram scam" or something similar you will find hundreds of posts from victims and near-victims of this type of scam.

Prototype Design Service, Inc. must be a scam. They claim to be in business 10+ years with European suppliers but have no Internet info or Better Business Bureau reports. Corporate information has no Internet results; nothing about the company name or the CEO John D Lewis. Corporate phone number (603) 938-5424 is disconnected and fax number (603) 369-6878 matches Miranda Cook's. Corporate address 21 E Washington Rd, Bradford, NH 03221 is a trailer in the woods. There is only the corporate web page: http://prototypedesignservice.com. Searching the address + Trulia returned real estate info; contacted 1st agent listed (Margaret Weathers) who said I was 2nd person to call with the same story, applying for a job, concerned and trying to find out about the corporate office.
Standard employment packages should include a company form for Direct Deposit Authorization. This company only states in the Employment Agreement, "The Employee must provide valid checking account information in order to start working for the Company." When I asked for the Direct Deposit form, and current corporate address and phone number, I got no reply.
I had emailed the completed W4 and Employment Agreement, so I took steps to protect my credit information, fearing identity theft.
10/28/2013 From: Kirkland Velda signed "HR Manager.
    Replied to Sabrina.berend185@gmail.com
10/29/2013 From Miranda Cook signed "Miranda Cook, Prototype Design Service, Inc., call us: (603) 369-6878.
10/31/2013 Miranda Cook sent employement package.
11/01/2013 I sent completed employment info and asked for info.
11/04/2014 Miranda Cook said in 10/31 email she’d call Monday and I got no call and no reply to my email questions.
IC3 will ask if there are others that this happened to. Please email me if you want the complaint number I file with them.

Re: http://prototypedesignservice.com Anyone heard of them?

Why do companies these days email people their job opening. It is like that people are no longer looking for work but it the other way round now it the companies looking for workers. But as someone stated in the reply that they pay then I guess you can give a try and see.
