    Promote Your Site Scam

I have several internet businesses that I have been trying to promote. It seems to me that there are many scams going on that claim to drive visitors to your site and after you pay them you do not get the visitors. If I did get the visitors all they sites claim they would deliver, I would have over 30,000 visitors a month and I'm lucky to have 50.

The biggest scamer is EasyHits4u.com I am a member who paid them for hits and they have a hit counter of their own. When I opened my stats page, they claimed i had over 800 visitors the day prior and over 100 visitors that day. But my page stats only showed I had about 14 visitors and my stats also show the time of the visits and where they came from.

When I emailed them that they were a scam and there was no way I had the visitors they claimed, they said for me to get a different program tracking my activity or better yet take my business elsewhere.

Another scam is Blast4traffic. They claim to email 2.3Million people a day. I have even tried to get visitors on my site saying "get a free plasma today just for visiting my site" out of frustration that I had zero results from their service. Not one visitor from my so called 2.3million emails. I have emailed them to send me a verification of 2.3million emails, but of course I do not get a reply.

I have spent a fortune on advertising. My results, maybe 100 visitors a month. And those visits have come from ebay and google ads.

Have you been scammed by these companies or have any suggestion of a promotion site that is legit? If so I sure would like to hear from you.

Luckily I have not been scammed by this. The one time I thought about trying it I did a ton of research only to find out that it wouldn't do any good.

Either you don't get the promised "hits" and if you do.. you don't get the audience you need or want.

The old tried and true methods are still the best. Promote it yourself, do some good SEO on your websites, write articles and submit them...etc... These are the only things that really work and they are all free.... if you have the money and the knowledge you can always use PPC advertising as well. Sorry you had to go through all that!

There are many fake "SEO specialists" out there, its a popular con. If you really want to drive traffic to your site, hire a reputable SEO specialist. Always see examples of their work before hiring. They should work with you to see how you want to market your site and what keyphrases and keywords you are aiming to become listed top ten in SERPS for. Good SEO specialists will work with you to generate good secondary search terms based around your niche (by secondary I mean not the obvious key phrases which will be too competitve).

Dont just hire someone who claims to get X amount of people to your site if you pay them X amount of money and thats it.

My bit of advice would be to change the colour scheme on your website. There's a reason that most visual-text media is black writing on a white background. I had a look but only lasted about 5 seconds before my eyeballs started to bleed. It's a shame because it looks like it might be interesting but my sight is too important to me to continue. Give me a shout if you change it and I'll have another go.
I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

Yes bright white writing on a pure black background is a design faux pas - i wouldnt read that either.

A tip, if this is the effect you want, you can actually make the white a medium grey and the pure black slightly less (instead of a #000000 background make it #111111 and instead of a #ffffff font color make it #cccccc) This would make it a lot easier to read, and because the background is still so dark, the font will still look white, but be easier to read.
