    Resize Avatars

They have to be 80 x 80, right?

I have one that is something like 185 x 255, how do I resize it?

Also, having just worked out how to inbed Youtube vids, can anyone remind me of how to post pics on here?

    Thanks,

if you want to post pics, go to a image hosting site such as www.imagehosting.com. When you upload the pic on the following page they will show you which code to copy and paste. If you want to resize, you can post it here or attach it and I could use photoshop to resize it.

resizing an avatar or any image for that matter, requires a graphics editing program. Just use the "resize" tool that is included.
I use Paint Shop Pro... it's easy to use and about as powerful as Photo-Shop. There are other, less powerful, packages available... check out download.com

OR... PM me and we'll arrange for me to resize it for you... it'll take about 5 seconds to do. :)

I need your help too! My pic (not avatar) is 1.68 kb and it says it has to be 97 kb to post. Please help! I've used HP image zone to resize but I can't get it small enough.

Paul only helps if you are a member of the YWFT Elite.

    ;)

Talking of which, Kommandant Paul, how do you post pics on here?

SJA once showed me a way to do it without using hostbucket, or whatever it is called, but I have forgotten.

When you are making an advanced post go to manage attachments and you can upload from your computer. Real simple accept for sizing the pics down to meet the limit.

Hi Button... sorry for the late response.

The best way to reduce the "weight" (kb size) of an image is to optimize it using a graphics editing/creation program like Photo-Shop or Paint Shop Pro.

In PSP you would use the 'options' feature under the 'save as' command. Then click on Optimize

for example; this first pic is one of my horse Streak. This pic weighs 42.4 kb.

This second pic is the same one only optimized. It weighs in at 21.1 kb

I use Photoshop and Advanced Jpeg Compressor.

I think in this case, would be better to use Advanced Jpeg Compressor. This software has a lot of controls for it. :)

For resizing image in Photoshop, choose Image > Image size.
