Why do you feel they are trying to scam you IF you are the one selling the laptop. By the way, sellers get paid BEFORE they send merchandise.

Don't take funding from a credit card. Only funding via a bank account.

    nnguy,

I would be leary of these emails. There are many of these type of emails floating are alert pay scams. These scammers have sent the money to your paypal account and some how withdrew t he money.

Check the forum you will find similar scams.

BOTH ARE SCAMS!!! STAY AWAY - YOU WILL LOSE YOUR LAPTOP AND YOUR MONEY.

If you do not believe me, log onto Ebay (whether or not you are selling your laptop on Ebay) and go to the Trust and Safety discussion board under "Community". Ask the same question as this post.

Alertpay is a very legitimate payment processing company, sort of like Paypal.
When you sign up with them, you will see that their security measures are formidable.
I have no comment on the emails discussed here, but you can trust Alertpay.

You can trust the real Alert pay, but there are scammers who are using a fake Alert Payment method. I suggest you check directly with Alert Pay on any transactions.
