    Palestine/israel

    some info did you know?

1 - THAT, when the Palestine Problem was created by Britain in 1917, more than 90% of the population of Palestine were Arab speaking Palestinians, and that there were at that time no more than 56,000 Jews in Palestine?

2 - THAT, more than half of the Jews living in Palestine at that time were recent immigrants, who had come to Palestine in the preceding decades in order to escape persecution in Europe? And that less than 5% of the population of Palestine were native Palestinian Jews?

3 - THAT, the Arabs of Palestine at that time owned 97.5% of the land, while Jews (both native Palestinians and recent immigrants together) owned only 3.5% of the land, 2.5% of which was purchased during the British occupation?

4 -THAT, when British passed the Palestine Problem to the United Nations in 1947, Zionists owned no more than 6% of the total land area of Palestine?

5 - THAT, notwithstanding these facts, the General Assembly of the United Nations recommended that a "Jewish State" be established in Palestine?. And that the Assembly granted that proposed "State" about 54% of the total area of the country?. Therefore, Zionists immediately occupied and still occupy more than 80% of the total land of Palestine?

6 - THAT, the 1947 recommendation of the General Assembly in favour of the creation of a "Jewish State" was outside the competence of the Assembly under the Charter of the United Nations?. Meanwhile, all the attempts by the Arab States and other Asian and African countries to have the Assembly submit "the question of constitutionality" of this recommendation to the International Court of Justice for an "advisory opinion" by the Court were rejected or ignored by the Assembly?

7- THAT, when the Assembly began to doubt its position regarding the matter and convened for its second special session in 1948, it failed to reaffirm the 1947 recommendation for the partition of Palestine, therefore, destroying whatever legality the first recommendation for the establishment of a "Jewish State" had?

8 - THAT, that original 1947 recommendation to create a "Jewish State" in Palestine was approved, at the first vote, only by European, American and Australian States...for every Asian State, and every African State (with the exception of the Union of South Africa) voted against it?.And that, when the vote was cast in plenary session on 29 November 1947, urgent American pressures (which a member of the Truman cabinet described as "bordering onto scandal") had succeeded in prevailing only upon one African country Liberia, which at the time had special vulnerability to American pressures, to abandon their declared opposition?. That, in other words, the "Jewish State" was planted at the "point of intersection" of Asia and Africa without the free approval of any Middle Eastern, Asian or African country except that Union of South Africa (keeping in mind itself being ruled by an alien minority!)?

9- THAT, Israel remained, ever since its inception, a total stranger in the emerging world of Afro-Asia; and that Israel has been refused admission to any inter-state conference of Asian, African, Afro-Asian, or Non-Aligned States ever held?

10 - THAT, since the General Armistice Agreements were signed in 1949, Israel has maintained an aggressive policy of waging military attacks across the Armistice Demarcation Lines, repeatedly invading the territories of the neighbouring Arab States...And that Israel has been duly rebuked, censured, or condemned for these military attacks by the Security Council of the General Assembly of the United Nations on eleven occasions-five times by the Security Council and six times by the General Assembly?. That, no other country in the world, whether member of the United Nations of a non-member, has been so frequently condemned by the United Nations. As well, Israel stands in defiance of 69 United Nations Security Council Resolutions?

11 - THAT, no Arab State has ever been condemned by any organ of the United Nations for military attacks upon Israel (for the exception of Iraq during the first Gulf War)?

12 - THAT, Israel has assassinated the first United Nations Mediator and his military aide; it has detained some truce observers; it has militarily occupied and illegally searched the Headquarters of United Nations personnel; and it has boycotted meetings of the Mixed Armistice Commissions?.

13 - THAT, Israel has additionally imposed a system of apartheid upon the Arabs who stayed in their homeland? More than 90% of these Arabs live in "security zones;" they alone live under martial law, restricting their freedom to travel from village to village or from town to town; their children are denied equal opportunities for education; and they are denied decent opportunities for work, and the right to receive "equal pay for equal work?"

14 -THAT, the Western Powers have persisted in declaring their determination to ensure a so-called "arms balance" in the area, as between Israel, on the one hand, and the one-hundred million inhabitants of the thirteen Arab States, on the other hand?. And this unilateral doctrine of so-called "arms balance" is no more reasonable than the suggestion that, in the Cuba-U.S.A conflict, there should be "arms balance" as between Cuba and the United States... or that the whole Continent of Africa should not be allowed to acquire more arms than South Africa... or that Mainland China should not be permitted to have more arms than Taiwan... or that the military allowed to acquire more arms than South Africa...

15 - THAT, Israel allots 85% of the water resources in the occupied territories for Jews and the remaining 15% is divided among all Palestinians in the territories? For example in Hebron, 85% of the water is given to about 500 settlers, while 15% must be divided among Hebron's 120,000 Palestinians?

16 - THAT, The United States awards Israel $3 billion in aid each year in recent years, amounting to almost 85 billion US dollars by1997 (a conservative figure), more than to any other country in the world: US aid to Israel exceeds the aid the US grants to the whole sub-Sahara Africa?

17 - THAT, GDP, per capita, and consumption per capita in the Occupied Territories have dropped about 15 percent in the West Bank and Gaza since 1993 - that's even with large foreign assistance pouring in, from various countries across the world?

18- THAT, Up until 1993, the U.S. and Israel permitted humanitarian aid to come into the territories. UN humanitarian aid was restricted from entering into the West Bank and Gaza. In 1993, that was restricted?

19 - THAT, Israel is the only country in the Middle East that has nuclear weapons? And, reguses to sign the nuclear-proliferation treaty and bars international inspections from its sites(ironically no economical sanctions were enforeced!)?

20 - THAT, Israel currently occupies territories of Syria, and occupied neighbouring land from both Lebanon and Egypt at one point in defiance of United Nations Security Council resolutions?

21 - THAT, Israel refuses to prosecute its soldiers who have acknowledged executing prisoners of war?

22 - THAT, Israel routinely confiscates bank accounts, businesses, and land from Palestinians and refuses to pay compensation to those who suffer the confiscation?

23 - THAT, Israel's former prime minister, Ariel Sharon, was found by an Israeli court to be "personally responsible" for the Sabra and Shatilla massacres in Lebanon in which thousands of unarmed Palestinian refugees were slaughtered in 1982?

Hey Pawn-psycho. I just got a message from GOD. He says that he's giving the lot (where your crummy little fencing operation happens to be currently sitting) to me. I don't have any use for hot jewelry, so I'm going to have the place bulldozed. You have 30 days to get off my property and get your fat Zionist ass off to Israel where it belongs. BTW: And take your hot TVs, car stereos and other loot with you. Shalom.

    And...

    30. You're another nut-case/anti-Semite like Ameri-Nazi, that's trying to somehow justify the use of terrorism by the Palestinians to settle their perceived land dispute. (which by the way, any person that has followed this conflict knows they could care less about. its about destroying Israel)

I revised my note a little. Didn't want him to think there's any hard feelings. If he'll go quietly there won't be a problem.

    Re: Palestine/israel

The problems with Israel and the Palestinians will never be resolved as long as both sides are supported and given aid in their causes. We should not wait for Israel and Palestine to instigate the Peace, the rest of the world needs to turn their focus away from trying to bring them to the table. What we can and need to do is get those supporting both sides to the table to negotiate a refusal to support both sides with weapons of war and start supporting them with the weapons of a better living.

It is my belief that most Palestinians would give up land to Israel if there stores were full of food and they had the money to buy it. If their water ran and their toilets flushed. If new construction replaced destruction. If guns were not a common sight on their streets. If healthcare was available. If a good job kept them busy. If their children were receiving a good education with the knowledge that a collage degree was within their grasp. If garbage pick up was a common service. If Jerusalem could be shared. If Palestine were declared a nation. If you force people to live like animals, do not be surprised when they begin to act like them.

It is my belief the most of Israel would give up the destruction of Palestine if suicide bombers stopped visiting restaurants. If rockets stopped falling on their homes. If Jerusalem could be shared.

These are all things the rest of the world can make happen. We can rebuild Palestine and inform Israel the reconstruction is off limits to their reprisals. Start as far from Israel as possible, near the Egyptian border and near the Jordanian border. Build cities for those in refugee camps, hire those same refugees to do the construction. Put in the services we all take for granted, water, electricity, good roads, garbage collection, Malls, movie theaters, HOPE. Work your way closer to the Israel border over time. Keep the new Palestine as far from Israel as possible in the beginning to give it the time required to change the people of Palestine, from a people of fear and despair, to a people of hope.

Palestine is a very small project compared to some the world has taken on. We as world citizens need to DEMAND this from our selves. Just imagine the response from Palestine if we announced that a city is being built to be a home for those in just one of the refugee camps! We need to build houses, schools, hospitals, cities! This we can do with no Road Map for Peace, with no Treaties, without Israelís permission, without delay.

I think it was a good article over all, but that line I quoted doesn't tell the whole story. The reason the Palestinians live like animals is because of their leadership, not because of Israel or anyone else. They were ruled for years by Arafat, who's only interest was the destruction of Israel, not the living conditions of the Palestinian people. Then when Arafat died, the Palestinians for the first time, had the opportunity to elect a government that could strive for peace, gain them their own state, and put them on a road that would end the violence and bloodshed. Instead of doing that, they chose to elect Hamas, a terrorist organization that had not only refused to recognize Israel, but had sworn to bring about its destruction.

The Palestinians living like animals was their choice and until they realize that the destruction of Israel isn't the answer, things won't get any better.

It does not matter why they are where they are, we do not need to place blame to justify the repair. We need a way to repair this that will lead to lasting peace. Nothing is more likely to lead to WWIII than the fate of Palestine.

Well, then, judging by the material you've contributed prior, you either are suffering from a rather advanced case of multiple personality disorder or you've had a profound apotheosis and awakening. Whatever it was, the personality that authored it is millions of years of evolution ahead of the other(s). Welcome back to the human race.

NO..Grimey..It isn't that he doesn't tell the whole story. It's that you don't know what the fvck you're talking about, as usual, and, accordingly, are capable only of parroting the prefabricated bullsh!t you've picked up from Zionist Liars and Propagandists whose job is to make Monkeys like you do exactly that.

You don't think that the whole " All Israelis must be killed" course that is taught in all schools to all children in 'palestine' might be a stumbling block?

LOL... This deluded fvcktard can claim one accomplishment in his miserable little "life" devoted mainly to Zionist Racial Hegemony: Making the late Terry Schiavo's mental state look normal.

Has he ever been to Palestine? Does he know anybody living in Palestine? Does he know any students attending school in The West Bank? Does he even know a Palestinian? Has he ever been within 5000 miles of the people about which he so pretentiously assumes knowledge? So where does he obtain these "insights" into the daily lives of Palestinians? Let me guess. It must be from where he gets all of his other brilliant conclusions? The only thing that perplexes me is how he gets his fat head past all the bleeding
    hemorrhoids.
