Interesting how the science guys come over here, no ? . . .

I have been thinking about much of what the science guys
and gals have had to say on here and believe you me I
have researched many things which you have presented,
by way mostly of link to what another science guy
says, but nevertheless what you take as fact with what
seems to be little research or evidence.

What do you do with this?

In the book of Hebrews ch 11 verse 3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

It wasn't until the 20th century that scientist discovered this to be true. Everything is comprised of atoms, protons, etc.
These things are invisible to the naked eye. How did the writer of Hebrews know that?

    Happy weekend!

I eagerly await intelligent responses that do not desperately revert to calling the bible a fictional book, since it could very well be THE MOTHER OF ALL research books.

Without calling the bible a fictional book? Hmmm. . . Okay.

"so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear."

This could very well be that which is called the "invisible magic dust". Since atomic theory was not known back then, I'm going to take a guess and say the author thought that things he could see (trees, people, clouds, etc.) were composed of invisible magic dust (that which he could not see). Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

Yeah, I think it is because you don't have an answer . . . how did
the writer of Hebrews know this? That verse above may have been
for some scientists the reason they started looking at the unseen,
    ever think of that?

I have very few answers. Unlike you faithful who think they have them all.

Why would I think such gibberish?

Plato also noted that ideation precedes form, and he was circa the time of the prophet Jeremiah. Which is way pre-NT.

It's a Hellenic concept, but I think they nicked it from the Egyptians. Which means it pre-dates Torah, as well.

Of course, Aristotle disagreed violently, but that's a whole other story.

Point is, the concept has been around and documented as being around far longer than the bible has.

NT we are talking right? The one the romans wrote 300 odd years after the event?
What may I ask do you base this on?

so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

So do you admit your mistake now? or was complexkid incorrect?

Ok then, to summarise the point I was going to make in the other forum....

Your phrasing is completely nonsensical. It makes absolutely no sense, whatsover, to say that atoms are "things which do not appear".

(Although you could have made a much more convincing argument if you had used Quantum Mechanics, but I'll leave that for you as a homework exercise.)
