    Sharebuilder.com

Is Sharebuilder.com a scam or not? Has anyone done anything with it and what was your experience? Do you actually end up in investing in actual stock or is this more like a hyip type of thing? Have you ever contacted the shareholder services of the company you are supposedly investing in? And, of course are these companies ones you are familiar with?
Is this basically a DRIP (Dividend Reinvestment plan) thing?

    Someone edumacate me, please.

Sharebuilder.com is an online stock broker site like scottrade.com, etrade.com, TDameritrade.com. It is a site that you do online stock trading. These sites do nothing for you. It is an online market to buy stocks.

    Re: Sharebuilder.com

I just received this email ...

Problem is, I have no accounts with ING or Sharebuilder. I believe this is a SCAM to try to gain personal information from me. I am reporting this to ShareBuilder. Has anyone else received similar emails?

Obviously, I am not clicking on their link to RECOVER ACCESS.

    Dear Customer,

ShareBuilder has detected customers unusual activity on your
    Online accounts.

This might be due to one or more of the following reasons:

    1. A recent change in your account information (i.e Yours profile details).

    2. Submitting invalid information during initial enrollment process.

    3. A large sum sell or buy other than the ammount you specify when
    enrolling for TradingLimit®.

Due to this, you are requested to follow the provided steps and confirm your Online
account details for the safety of your Online Account Access.

    Recover Access

However, Failure to do so may result in temporary account suspension. Please understand
that this is a security measure intended to help protect you and your account.

Thank you for choosing ShareBuilder. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.

    Sincerely,

    Bryce Engel

Hey CocoFL I just received the same email this morning. I as well have never had an account at any time with ShareBuilder or ING Bank.

I think this is just some kind of fishing scam or whatnot.

What disturbs me is they used my corporate work email address which I have never received spam on and never provided to anyone. :spidey:
