Great point, bogie. :) One is not a little bit pregnant-she either is or she isn't. Or, as I tell my children, you're either honest or your not-there is no gray area.

The reason you give it thought though is because it is not black and white. If it was, you would not have to think at all. I can't help but to agree with Joe.

Grays?? What about blue, green, and red?? When you go through life with blinders on you miss the scenery!!

What I find remarkable is the same person who always says things like, "there is only right and wrong", and "your either with us or your against us", will inevitably use the phrase, "do as I say not as I do"!!!

    Right on Bairdi!! ;)

    Re: Illegal to be Republican

All we have done is create a major clusterf***? The folks who put us there are the very same ones profiting from it, why ever would they want us too leave?? Every day we are there is money in their pockets, and as long as their sorry butts are not on the line, who gives a sh!T?
That is right we caused the clusterfvk and now we are there to fix the problem. Until the Iraqi government is strong enough to deal with it themselves. All I hear in your post Joe is a hatred for your own elected officals. Because the power sits in their hands to do everything you want them to however they don't. I wonder why that is? You would think that if there truly was a majority of the American people that thought we should be out then we would be out.

The Democrats are the majority and they control the purse strings. They can easily make the war go bye bye but they do not. Why? Becasue they would lose their power in the next election because there is no majority of Americans that wish to see us lose this war on Terror.

The Civil war was ignited by terrorists not the USA. The terrorists blew up the place of worship that sparked this whole "Civil War". Seems quite small for a civil war when the attacks seem to only occur in Baghdad. Why if the country is in such a dire struggle are the civil war actions only in Baghdad?

I think we can help the Iraqi people from falling into a FULL BLOWN Civil war. If we were not there the place would be chaos right now. All across Iraq not just in Baghdad. Until Iraq has a strong enough military we will be there. Unless the congress so defunds it.

This debate on the war is really really old. There are never any new arguements against it. All you hear is "Its a civil war and we should not be putting our boys in harms way for it." Well we are in harms way and we are holding off the civil war quite well I may add. There has been little in the way of actual civil war. I see no armies forming on either side and marching down the street firebombing buildings as they go.

All I see is Terrorists killing innocent people that are tring to be a free nation. If this doesn't sound like something our nation should be helping in I feel deeply for you.

Our country is dedicated to helping the Iraqi people through this. They are not through this so we will be there until they are. Word of knowledge for everyone. We are still in Germany and Japan and South Vietnam and South Korea. These are all examples of how it will be in Iraq. When we invade a country we do not as a nation leave the nation worse then it was when we arrived. We stay there and help the nation rebuild and become stronger. If the government of Iraq ever says ok USA you can leave now we will handle this ourselves. Then we will leave. Until then be prepared to stay there along long time.

We started this and we are going to finish it. Unless you think we should leave with our tails between our legs and let everyone in the world see us as weak again then yeah we should leave. However if you think our country is strong and should show the world we are strong then we should stay and defeat these Fanatic Crazies. Because if we leave we will not be making anything better.

Proof of this is. How many attacks are against US troops? In the past few months the innocent civilians are the ones getting attacked by these wackos. When we leave are the attacks going to stop? If the Iraqi army cannot control the wackos wht will happen? Id the result of this better then where we are now? People need to think things out not just allow their hatred to control them. That is what those against this war are doing they allow their hatred to drive them to suggest silly things.

    Re: Illegal to be Republican

So many inconsistencies in such a small space? You should be proud!!

First let’s go with the obvious; A civil war is a war in which parties within the same culture, society or nationality fight against each other for the control of political power. Sound familiar? It’s not just people dressed in blue and gray, blowing the crap out of each other on designated battle fields, while the social elite’s picnic on a hill watching the carnage!

We created a form of government the other side doesn’t recognize, and yes they are getting help from an outside source, so is whichever side we are trying to help?? Both sides are learning and getting what they can from us and whomever else will help so they can use that equipment and training against us when they finally say leave and we say they are not ready yet, for the last time! Then they will be the terrorists that our grandkids will have to fear! That is the legacy of this war, more terrorists (extremists) not less!

Why Baghdad? Well you silly that is the key to holding the country. Whoever controls Baghdad controls Iraq! That is why at this point “nobody” controls Baghdad!! That is also why we look and appear to be weak in a part of the world where absolute control means everything! The more sadistic the more the respect level. As long as we are standing around going, golly gee whiz, if they would only do as we ask everything here would be peachy keeno?

Dems hold the majority but not the absolute majority! Ever hear of a veto? The dems will most likely loose their power in the next election because they cannot get anything done that needs to be done. The republicans only need to keep the choke hold on everything the dems try. The republicans need only remind the public how ineffective they were so we can go back to the do nothing Congress we had before. Maybe dems are weak, but most likely they are just as greedy as the reps? I really do not see the difference in the two? Once they get their palms greased they will say anything they need to to keep the money train rolling in, all aboard!! Hoot, Hoot!

Absolute majorities were what was so important to the neo-cons, in the early days of the Bush administration, and the reason why Delay and others gerrymandered districts all over the country to maintain that level of absolute power! So they could continue this fiasco even after it was obvious, that this was a war of profit above everything else. Now we are “using” our troops as pawns to keep certain corporate executives rolling in the dough. I wish there was another way to say it, but that is where we are now in a nut shell! How much interest and stock do you have in the oil industry, and other war machine industries, Dollander?? 50% of your portfolio, maybe more??

It is all about making the best of this terrible situation, and insuring the money keeps flowing in! Same reason it is so important that we keep calling it a war because the Commander in Chief has the most power during times of “war”! Over and over, on every channel that will use the term war, war, war, until even the most knowledgeable individual refers to it as such so that others will even know what they are talking about! If he or any of his staff calls it what it is, a civil war, we legally should not be interfering, with their internal disputes!

Instead of using our troops to take out Al whatever, like the operation we did in Somalia, and actually making the world a safer place, we are up to our wastes in the mire of greed, and all you have to do is follow the money to see where that greed leads too!!

    Talk about tired of the same old same old;

We are “still” in South Vietnam??? I knew we were helping build resort hotels but I had no idea we were occupying S. Vietnam?? When we declared victory in the rest of those places we were not losing troops at a higher volume that before??? Interesting how you contradict yourself, to cover all bases, while admitting we are an invasion force?? This is classic symptoms of too much FAUX News!! We will never leave unless they ask us too?? Just exactly who is they, and why are you peddling this dribble?? As long as they have oil we will never leave, and if “they” ask us to leave, “they’ will be on an assassination list quicker than you can say sugar dumplin!!!

Things are not better since we got there by a long shot? Better than Sodamn-insane, OK, better than the day we took out Sodamn, your kidding right? They only had one terrorist when we got their, according to you the place is infested now!? The only people I here smearing the reputation of our troops is people like you? They have done their job above and beyond, what they should have had too! Incompetence has only made it worse!! It will be years and maybe decades before we have the same status in the world we had before the second or third year (or the next 20 you wnat) of the Iraq fiasco that will forever be one of our lowest points even lower than when we left Vietnam!

We have only been baiting Iran and they are not falling for it. We continue to let the borders of Iraq be accessible and if we only stayed there and did that one thing, ‘secure the borders’, so it would limit the outside influence, we might, just might give the Iraqis the advantage they need, to settle their differences, even if they wind up killing each other to the very last man, woman, and child!? But we haven’t even been able to do that correctly?
