Dawud will be gone for awhile

My son-in-law was on a jet ski in Florida. Has come up missing and is presumed dead. He has has been missing since Tuesday. They are still searching for his body which is in a swampy area, where the Escambia River flows into the Gulf of Mexico near Pensacola Florida. He is the father of my grandaughter. Your prayers are welcomed. Thanks, David

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and Escambia Search and Rescue continued to search Saturday for a 20-year-old man reported missing near the mouth of the Escambia River.

The Coast Guard and other agencies had been searching since Tuesday evening for Jeremiah B. Coon of Cantonment, who was on a personal watercraft.

Coon and three friends were taking turns riding the craft in an area near the U.S. 90 bridge, said Stan Kirkland, regional spokesman for Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The Coast Guard's search ended at dark said Brian Weekley, U.S. Coast Guard operations specialist from Mobile, Al.

Other agencies were continuing the search Saturday night for Coon, Kirkland said.

Coon's friends made an emergency call about 6 p.m. Tuesday after their friend did not return from his ride, Kirkland said.

The watercraft was recovered Tuesday evening, said Joe Ramey, director of Escambia Search and Rescue.

Two fishermen in a boat helped Coon's friends recover the watercraft, which was found in the Escambia River about three-quarters of mile southeast of the U.S. 90 bridge, Kirkland said.

The seat to the watercraft was found about 100 yards upstream from where the watercraft was recovered, he said.

Coon's friends said the missing man was not wearing a life jacket, Kirkland said.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences in your time of uncertainty. Words can never offer sympathy in the proper manner, but at least make an effort. :o I will offer up a prayer for you and your family so your son-in-law will be found.

    Dear Dawud
My heartfelt sorrow for your missing loved one. I hope your daughter will find her solace in the knowledge that she is loved more so in this most difficult and uncertain time and that 'friends' here will be praying for her and her husband. Let us pray and hope that your son-in-law will be found alive. I only just found this message so I don't know how long its been since progress on discovering your daughter's husband has been made. Keep being positive. Will be looking out for your posts on the matter.
You and your family are in my prayers.

    Take care
