    Wilkuro.com

This one is linked to Lord_Jag.

Have a look at www.wilkuro.com and have a look at a few of these sites where their product is being falsely advertised as being made of 100 % Rubber.

The product in fact is made of 100 % PVC!

    Any comments?

Sooo, you're contention is ; these overshoes - which do claim to be made of "100% rubber" - are made of synthetic (petroleum derived) rubber, as opposed to Latex ( botanical) rubber.

Re: Wilkuro.com Is it Rubber or PVC?

They claim that the product is 100% Rubber but in fact it is made of 100% PVC. PVC is not Rubber. If they are made of PVC then people should know that. I don't know the merits of one over the other but in a safety product I would think it is important to describe it accurately.

Why make such a big noise about OSHA, ANSI, CE etc if the product is being sold is not what was tested? Is this not false advertising? Is that not the essence of a scam?

I'm surprised that the Wilkuro people didn't show up when this fight errupted in Google Groups. I've sent an email to the safetytoes.com people. Let's see what they have to say.

    Take gentle, junior.
Rubber is rubber, whether derived from latex, or coal-tar.
The conflict here seems to be over the advertised description of the product as being - and I quote- "100% Rubber" , without specifying which sort of rubber - synthetic or botanical- the product is "100%" made from.
By the by; can anyone say which sort of rubber would be best used to manufacture the overshoes in question?

Nowhere on thier website do they say they are made of rubber. Where do you get your facts?

So the distributors need to be updated that they have changed from the poor performing rubber to the PVC. Look on the website in the title and you will find they make no such claims.

They used to be made of rubber.

Took 30 seconds on a search engine:

Yep. Looks like they are trying to hide it to me. People always contact the press when they want to hide something.

Anybody who says PVC is like Rubber is a fool. Anybody who represents PVC as Rubber is a scammer. These Wilkuro things are being sold as 100% Rubber and they are not.

You do look like an attack dog for the Wilkuro people.

This forum is the right place to expose a manufacturer that falsely advertises a product. Your bias is showing and you deserve to be challenged.

    Who says PVC is Rubber?

Wow. So I work for Wilkuro now? I also prefer the Minto over the Glengrove. Do I work for the Minto too? I prefer Ford over Chevy. Do I work for Chevy too? I prefer Kellogs over General Mills. Do I work for Kellogs too?

Wow. With all of the jobs you think I have I must be making millions. I'm not an "attack dog". Your just an idiot spreading lies.

    Re: Wilkuro.com

    Dr poormouth,

I agree "rubber is rubber". I don't think you are implying that PVC is the same as rubber?

The debate is why a product that is made of PVC is being sold as 100% Rubber.

Both have their own characteristics but I don't know which is best for use in a safety product of the kind in question.

Just so you know, Workingperson.com has changed their Wilkuro copy to reflect the new reality, as this is the first they heard about it. There was no intent to scam anyone by Workingperson.com!

PVC has been tested as being more durable than rubber, and this is reflected on the Workinperson.com site.
