Bush: If At First You Don't Succeed - Fail Fail Again

Even The Flying Monkey's favorite GOP wh0res are abandoning "President" Titanic's latest pipe dream for Iraq-Nam.

The only thing that could pacify Iraq is Iran. Which is what it really is if not in name.

Saddam was one the more moderate and secular thugs with whom we could do business. He was our boy against Iran. Saddam was never any threat to us whatsoever. Now the CIA doesn't have a proxy to contain and divert Iran.

Republican opposition to Iraq plan grows

By DAVID ESPO, AP Special Correspondent Mon Jan 22, 6:03 PM ET

WASHINGTON - Congressional Republicans pushed back Monday against
President Bush's decision to increase troop strength in
Iraq, some voicing opposition while others urged holding the administration and Iraqi government more accountable for the war effort.

"We've had four other surges since we first went into Iraq," said Sen. Susan Collins (news, bio, voting record), referring to the administration's plan for an additional 21,500 troops. "None of them produced a long-lasting change in the situation on the ground.

"So I am very skeptical that this surge would produce the desired outcome," said the Maine Republican.

In the Senate, Collins joined two Republicans and one Democrat to unveil nonbinding legislation expressing disagreement with Bush's plan. The president should consider "all options and alternatives" involving a smaller force, the measure said.

In the House, members of the leadership drafted a series of what they called "strategic benchmarks," and said the White House should submit monthly reports to Congress measuring progress.

The developments occurred on the eve of Bush's State of the Union address, and as Democrats pointed toward votes in the House and Senate on bills declaring that the troop increase is "not in the national interest of the United States."

Republicans have struggled to respond in the two weeks since Bush outlined his new strategy. Though aware that the war played a role in the GOP defeat in last fall's elections, most have been unwilling to abandon a president of their own party.

Both the Senate legislation and the action taken by the House Republican leaders are softer than the legislation that majority Democrats intend to place for a vote. But they also represent a more forceful response to the long and deadly war than the GOP offered while it held the majority in Congress.

More than 3,000 U.S. troops have been killed in the war, including 27 over the weekend and one more on Monday.

Democrats intend to make the war a part of their formal response to Bush's nationally televised speech, tapping Sen. Jim Webb of Virginia, a Vietnam veteran and former Republican Navy secretary, to speak.

In an interview with reporters, Webb ridiculed Bush's new strategy as "just a lot more flailing around rather than coming up with something specific that's going to end our involvement."

Sen. John Warner (news, bio, voting record) of Virginia, former chairman of the
Senate Armed Services Committee, joined Collins and Norm Coleman (news, bio, voting record) of Minnesota in producing the legislation expressing disagreement with Bush's plan. Sen. Ben Nelson (news, bio, voting record), D-Neb., joined them.

"I personally, speaking for myself, have great concern about the American G.I. being thrust into that situation, the origins of which sometimes go back over a thousand years," Warner said.

Collins said some Republican senators did not feel comfortable with the Democratic-backed measure, but wanted to register their concern with Bush's approach.

Unlike the measure backed by Democrats, Warner's proposal would leave open the possibility of Bush sending a small number of additional troops to a specific region, such as Anbar province in the western part of Iraq.

Even so, the action taken by Collins, Coleman and him raised the number of Senate Republicans publicly opposed to the president's plan to five. Sens. Chuck Hagel (news, bio, voting record) of Nebraska and Olympia Snowe (news, bio, voting record) of Maine have said they back the Democrats' resolution.

In the House, Rep. John Boehner (news, bio, voting record) of Ohio, the party's leader, said he supports Bush's plan and that his backing is not conditional on the president agreeing to meet the standards that lawmakers laid out.

He said he had told the president "that the support is still strong among Republicans but there are a lot of our members who are skeptical that the plan will work" because of doubts that the Iraqi government will follow through on its commitments.

Boehner also released a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (news, bio, voting record), D-Calif., urging her to appoint a special committee of equal numbers of Republicans and Democrats to oversee the "implementation and progress of the president's new strategy for success in Iraq."

As the majority party, Democrats generally are entitled to more seats on House committees than Republicans, and it is unlikely Pelosi would agree to a different arrangement to monitor the war.

The House Republicans' suggested "strategic benchmarks" apply largely to the Iraqi government, which has pledged additional troops to quell sectarian fighting and to restrain Shiite militia.

Republicans want the government to be measured on its cooperation with U.S. forces, its ability to purge its security forces of insurgents and their sympathizers and also on its ability to assure that Shiite, Sunni, Kurd and other groups are treated equally.

Democrats are expected to bring Iraq-related legislation to a vote in the days following Bush's televised State of the Union address.

Warner said he would seek a vote on his alternative at the same time.

In the House, it was not clear whether Republicans intend to seek a vote on an alternative of their own, and if so, whether it would express support for Bush's plan.

Well, lets just do what the wussy libs want. Lets bring all our troops home, leaving Iraq in the hands of extremist and terrorist (Iran). And then, when terrorist are deeply entrenched in Iraq and have a FIRM hold on the country, they can expand. Then they can swallow up Kuwait, Syria, Lebanon, Then on to Jordon, and Pakistan to over throw the president who dared helped the U.S in the war on terror. Then Afganastan is next... They can reinstate the taliban to its former glory. Then only Turkey and Saudi remain to take over the whole middle east. Once they consolidate all their power in the middle east, they can look to the West and Europe (Islam already has a head start in Europe, this will be easy to conquer, with the exception of England. They wont go down w/o a fight, but go down they will) Then, with the help of Chavez, the terrorist can finnaly look to conquer the U.S.

dhchristie, you and people like you are STUPID! Plain and simple. If you enjoy having the freedoms to say what you like, and you enjoy being able to speak out against religions, and governments you better wise up. Because if we lose this in Iraq, it will have ramifcations that will send waves of violence unlike the world has EVER seen. And it will be the fault of sissy, weak, freaks like yourself. You stupid monkey feces.

It’s just too funny how effective The Bush Regime's fear mongering is on these stupid quivering Monkey Cowards. Bush really has them crapping in their diapers with fear. Ha..ha..ha.. .

But what annoys me more about this gibbering retard is that he can’t even come up with an original insult. And it's clear from his mindless parroting of BushCo propaganda that an original thought is not on his very limited intellecutal menu.

When one reads some of the mindless infantile drivel posted here (like the retarded sewage quoted above) it sends a chill up the spine to consider just how completely clueless the intellectually bankrupt Monkeys in the irrational, criminal right-wing in this country are and how eagerly they swallow Bush Regime Kool Aid hook line and sinker.

Regardless of how many times Bush morphs his manifesto for the Iraq-Nam debacle, these Monkeys are eagerly lapping it up - no matter how patently absurd.

Letely the story line goes something like this: We're keeping the terrorists in Iraq-Nam from coming over the wide open Mexican border at us because they would rather hang in Baghdad and fight us there.

These Monkeys really need a coach to try and coordinate their delusions.

Using The Flying Monkey's fairytales just leaves them laughably open to ridicule as usual. And clearly, the propagndists working for Bush also have little respect for the intelligence of Bush's loony right-wing constituency.

But it's no surprise. Cheney was still selling them the "insurgents are in their last throws" script as late as last summer and they were buying.

One of the canards we now hear spewing endlessly from these comatose right-wing retards is that old familiar domino theory. If you're in your fourties or older, you heard it for years from the Viet-Nam Era War Criminals.

Since all else has failed, These Monkeys have finally trotted it out for a repeat performance. But, these Monkeys have been drifting from one alibi to another for years now looking for an ad hoc “after the fact” excuse for The Flying Monkey’s ill fated fiasco in Iraq-Nam. First it was WMDs. Then it was Saddam's repressive dictatorship. Then it was Al Qaeda. There's a new pack of lies and excuses always coming down the BushCo conveyor belt as reliably as a Chinese factory churns out yellow car magnets.

Now that all the original excuses have been thoroughly debunked, exposed and exhausted a million more times as the lies and BS people like myself knew they were all along, these Monkeys think they have a winner with the “Al Qaeda will follow us home” story line. Ha..ha..ha.

When I was growing up, we lived with the threat of thousands of nukes pointed at us which could be here in minutes and they were controlled by a gargantuan military machine that really did have the means and the resources to obliterate us at will.

That was the lynch pin of the lies they told to sucker us into the Viet Nam debacle that resulted in 58,000 kids coming home in rubber bags. It was all to stop the Commies from taking over Asia and, eventually, Brooklyn.

Now, just a few weeks ago, we established favored nation trading status with those same commies we were murdering in their own only country 35 years ago.

I admit, it’s often hard to resist spending precious time lambasting these Monkeys for their wanton, irresponsible, craven stupidity. But I simply don't have the time it takes to come here and lecture children.

These Monkeys expect the adults here to play some kind of intellectually dishonest polemics game with them by conceding the Iraq disaster is a domino in their phony little “War On Terror”.

Sorry Monkeys. .but fvck you. We're not buying. You don’t get away with causing the problems in the first place and then claim everybody has an imperative to mop up your fvcking mess.

Go straight to hell and don't pass go.

That could happen only after BIn Laden makes you his girl friend and bangs you up the ass on national television while cutting off your stupid head and crapping into the hole between your shoulders. But don't worry. That could only happen if REAL Americans like me don't get to you first. Then you'll only have to figure out how to pull one of our boots out of your fat chickensh!t butt. BTW: How does it feel to be such a zero and a loser that not even the military thinks you're worth sending off to die in Iraq-Nam? Ha..ha.

They are just too stupid to be bothered with. They still argue even in the light of a scathing report on the intelligence community, a presidential commission said the United States still knows "disturbingly little" about the weapons programs and intentions of many of its "most dangerous adversaries." This is what these monkeys act on... "disturbingly little" intelligence. You can clearly see this by the retorts of these mental defectives. Ronster is clearly slow of mind, and his claims in support of the war are dubious at best.
And the "Christian" Right who vacuously quote scripture as they kill proudly... well, lets not get started on that subject.

Im not Christian, I am not a Republican, I just know (because I have brains) that losing in Iraq is NOT an option that we can afford. And you ladies have such hate for Bush and anything not started or iniated by a democrat and you would put this country and the world in harms way just to crush Bush. I am not a Bush fan due to his stance on illegal ALIENS. But when it comes to protecting this country and our interest I am behind him 100%. So, go find Clintons pie hole and climb as far as you can up it and dont come out until the grown up Americans save the country and the world AGAIN. And keep your sissy thoughts and comments to yourself.

Yeah, Bush's brilliant tactic? Give terrorist factions an entire country to unite in and set up bases.

Also, let them all stay in Pakistan under Musharraf's protection. Fantastic.

has their been mistakes? yes.... I agree, there have been mistakes, but tell me one war that their was not mistakes made? My point is to leave Iraq without stablizing the country will have far reaching ramifcations that we will have to deal with in the future. And if we have to deal with it again, it will be on OUR shores that we are dealing with it. Yea, that sound fun.....

Quite simply, the most effective solution to our problem with religious zealots and pollution spewing repudlickins that wish to support the Iraq war despite the facts offered concluding it's time to vacate, is to permit them to fill in for the army's absence. If the rank, depraved, religious frothing derelicts wish to support the murder and carnage over in Iraq, let them become Bush's crusade warriors and cannon fodder to purge Iraq of all them "terrists". Bon Voyage c0cksuckers.

Regardless of ethnicity or physical condition; you support the war? Book your flight, swim or sail and get over there. In a wheelchair? Let me provide you with an M16, a few grenades and bid you good luck. Hope you have a nitrous oxide issued motorized wheelchair when it's time to retreat.
