I think your way of celebrating Christmas is lovely and commendable. You demonstrate a lofty spirit that I admire.

However, I can remember a time years ago when the church I was attending was doing fundraising to buy a large stain glass window for the church. It was going to cost $50,000. The church was a beautiful old building in an inner city area that had become quite rundown ... most of the people who lived within miles lived below the poverty line. I thought that this was a ridiculous, prideful, waste of money that could have gone to feed and support the poor.

At about that time I had a major situation in my life that I was praying about. I went so far as to spend an entire day in prayer and fasting. I am sure I must have felt quite righteous about it. When the time came to break my fast, I also opened my bible at random fully expecting to read a passage that would in some way give me insight to on my problem. I was stunned to see the passage about "The poor you will have always with you but me you will have for just a little while." It didn't have anything to do with what I was praying about but I knew exactly what God was teaching me -- it is not mine to judge another's heart or motive. Everyone gives glory to God in their own way. The world can be pretty drab and sad. If a tree full of lights and colored balls gives a family joy I think that is wonderful. It personally gives me great pleasure to see the world all bright and shiney at this time of year.
that reminds me!?what do you think is the human fascination with light or lights!?hehe!!.....just askin......

I don't think they do part ways. They are separate but can be married quite well. One can be sunshiney and not be sonshiney. However, if one were truly saved, it might be impossible to be sonshiney without also being sunshiney. Don't you agree?......just askin..... ;)

I agree. I believe they are interdependent as in mutually supporting. It's something to think about.

let's propose that it is impossible to be sunshiny without the sonshine!?and then propose that men lose there position(dis-position!?)in the sun when they lose same in the son!?and further propose that men differ in there inherited position in the sun/son!?some 30 some 60 some 100!?and the unsaved differ from the truly saved by lack of faith in!?sonshine on rainy days!?the natural, and man made kind!?.....just askin
