The FINAL word on 419 scams

    http://www.tampabays10.com/news/loca...ryid=39526&s=f

Internet sex performance lands woman in jail

Largo, Florida - A 39-year-old Dunedin woman is in jail, accused of trying to cash counterfeit checks which she says were payment for a web cam sex performance.

Kathleen Hall was arrested at the Amscottt on Missouri Avenue in Largo where police say she was trying to cash two $850 checks.

Hall reportedly told police that she met someone online from Nigeria and agreed to perform a sex act on her web cam in return for money.

The checks came in an envelope with a Nigerian post mark, but police say they are counterfeit.

Hall is in the Pinellas County jail on $15,000 bond.

Re: The FINAL word on 419 scams

I don't think there was any guy in Nigeria. I read the article and it appears that's what she is SAYING.

I mean, first we have to believe that anyone WANTS to see her perform a sex act. Then we have to believe that they are willing to PAY her for this act. Finally, we have to believe that the guy Nigeria FINALLY sent a check!! After all these years, he finally got his millions and look at what he is spending it on!!

I think she was trying to pull a scam and that there is no Nigerian guy.

They said the checks came in a envelope with nigerian postmarks so there was a Nigerian connection.Read it more carefully.

Re: The FINAL word on 419 scams

I get so tired of people talking about these internet jobs being scams. They are not all scams, some are some are not.My best friend owns a website and I feel bad for her sometimes because she gets attacked from these forums, she is a single mother and just trying to make it just like anyone else looking to make extra money from home.It is the typing job thing, she basically provides a website with a list of legitimate companies that people can work for and make a nice commission from it,like 75% (by placing ads for these companies) she has had years of experience in this field and is just teaching people how to do it,no one ever helped her ,she had to figure it out for herself.I see it as a training program, people can't expect to get this for free because they have to maintain their own website monthly and constantly be answering emails and phone calls from people all over the world. My friend has done the same thing as what she is promoting so she knows what she is doing believe me,i'm computer illiterate(haha).I don't have the patience to do what she does but at least I can appreciate it. If anyone has any doubts about the legitimacy of typing jobs then I can vouch for her company(or similar ones) because I know she would never scam anyone and i've seen the money she has made through the years.Of course I agree that a lot of companies make huge promises of success but I've watched her for years doing it and she has become pretty damn successful at what she does. The thing is that making money on the net isn't easy but if you are determined to learn, it is possible to earn a sole income from it.I would do it myself but personally am no good on the internet.
So I just had to say that in defense for my friend and some other similar jobs on the net.

Believe me! That is not the only Nigerian Scam out there. I know because I just got scamed and it isn't pretty. When they wanted $30,000 more I said no way and sent all info to the proper authorities. I think the poor people in the US are very gullable and when offered a great deal of money, they can only see a way out of the life they are in right now; so they go for it and loose. Please don't do that, as I did. It just managed to make my life worse because now I owe money on a loan that I can not pay. :(
It is not nice to make fun of the way people look. Look in the mirror sometime

Ok, so since she is posting ads I assume she is a clickbank affiliate, and I bet on her website she posts her affiliate links and tells people how great they are!! Well she might get paid, but she is SCAMMING people. If I am wrong then before you defend her provide a little more detail for us to explain to you why people here said anything to her. (If we even did say something to her, because you didn't provide her name or what we said besides it is a scam!!)

Re: The FINAL word on 419 scams

    Hey Guys,

How do i report a Posible SCAM which is somewhat similar to mtt, to the the proper athorities, or how do i get people to become aware of this scam? Basically its a Guranteed Signups SCAM, i have purchased but they Delivered FAKE signups, How do i know its FAKE? Because these signups have names like 987, maxusa, ussrforeever, 77777. Why would any one risk signing up using fake details, when their money is on the line? (were talking about amounts from 1000- 100,000.00USD) For example would u buy a car for CASH under your neighbours name?

Anyway i asked them what happened to my campaign? they said its completed. Im like WTF (i didnt say it to them)? i replied but i didnt get a single PAID sign up? When is my real campaign starting the one where i can actually view the sign ups? or if u cant deliver my purchase then when i am getting my refund?

(Because in the back office there is a link that says VIEW Signups but its useless because its all coded for some B.S Reason the only way you can get these details is from ur affiliate program back office if u have that facility)

Anyway back to the story. They Replied " You being rude to us will result in campaign termination? Then i went to their web site, they have Live Chat for Customer Service btw. And i spoke to one of their representatives and this guy appologised and asked me to resubmit my details and my campaign will start Again. Its been 2 days since i resubmitted nothing has happened yet didnt even recieve "the ur campaign has started" email, and when i go to live chat and ask them, they are like " Oh its You Again" i just want people to be aware of this Posible SCAM.

My resubmission is 2 days old but my original purchase was on Thu, 7 Sep 2006 , so can anyone advise me what to do, i dont mind losing my money as long as i stop others from losing theirs and being scammed. They have paid sign ups and free to join sign-ups, both are un-contactable and useless. im saying this based on the last campaign. For The current campaign il will keep u guys informed on the progress but i doubt they will deliver, just giving u guys a heads up. name of the site is www.diamond-central.com

Re: The FINAL word on 419 scams

one of the biggest rip-off's in history was during ww1, when the us army made it's soldiers by war bonds at a 100bucks, then brought them back for 85, they also shot and killed ww1 vets when they camped out on the white house lawn for money owed.......

anyways.......i think both were at fault and i think the nigerian didnt want to pay that lady with real money because she looked like rosie from "the view"

most of the times these men who seek out women for cyber cam acts really take care of them and stuff (payment and gifts)....amsterdam is notorious for online "live" shows.......i just think the lady's look had somthing to do with him sending a bad check....plus maybe she's in jail due to karma, like on my name is earl

On Judge Judy, a couple went to their bank to cash one of these FAKE money orders. The bank said no so they went to a check cashing place.

THEY WENT THERE KNOWING THE CHECKS HAD A PROBLEM...

SO at that point they are involved in the criminal part of the event.

JUDGE JUDY made them give the money back to the Check Cashing Place.

    HOWEVER<<<<

This couple could have went to jail for FRAUD.

It depends upon your level of knowledge of events.

You can only be so dumb, then you are a participant.

actually, i have seen a couple of shows on oprah talking about just this kind of thing. and most of the people scamming americans were from nigeria! if you go to oprah.com you can read about the shows that they did on that site. she is a bit scary looking, and im like wow about what she got paid to do...lol but i feel sorry for her too, cause it seems like this kind of thing happens alot. another thing the nigerians will do as well is tell you that you have won tons of money and that they need you to cash the check and then send them a processing fee or taxes out of that money, you cash it and send the money and then the bank comes back with it being fradulent, and then you are responsible for that cash!
