    Stem Cell Research "Orwellian"

    http://today.reuters.com/news/articl...EY.xml&src=rss

Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a 2008 Republican presidential hopeful, said on Thursday his administration's new restrictions on stem cell research are aimed at heading off an "Orwellian" future.
    RIIIGHHHHTTTTT........

So in a country where freedoms are being lost daily, surveillance of the population is increasing, lies are told liberally through the media and a constant state of warfare is being maintained so as to keep the population in a state of fearfullness... STEM CELL's, are the biggest threat of an orwellian society.

    Are you fu**ing kidding me??!!?!??!

Just incase you ahven't seen this link yet: http://www.studentsfororwell.org/
That is the orwellian society we already live in, and I don't see any politicians trying to control those things.

Perhaps if he said it was huxlean (although I am sure I just made that term up) he would be right. This is akin to Brave New World by Huxley, a world at once foreign to ours, but essentially dominated by happy people who love their lives and what they do.

How terrible that society would be!

Is that absolutely necessary? Please try to just stay on topic. Stem cells research isn't orwellian at all, in any regard. In fact it is precisely counter-orwellian. The research is undertaken in order to improve our lifestyles. In 1984 improving lifestyles was the precies opposite of what they wanted.,,,

In factm I think halting stem cell research would be indiciative of something done in 1984.
