Nerds On Call Using DMCA To Eliminate Compettion

The folks at Nerds On Call are using underhanded tactics to get their competition removed from search engines. I run On Call Computer Nerds at http://oncallcomputernerds.com and I received a DMCA complaint from Nerds On Call and 3 of my listing were removed from the Google search engine without any notice or being able to fight the complaint.

My site does not remotely resemble nerdsoncall.com and I was ranked above them in Google. Now I am not even in the search engines top 5 pages. As a mom and pop operation this kills our business. Is there anything I can do?

I don't even know what I did wrong as the complaint is not yet listed. This is all I found when I tried to check on my Google rankings.

"In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 2 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at ChillingEffects.org."

So I went to the link below to see what I did wrong, if anything, and it says "The cease-and-desist or legal threat you requested is not yet available."

How can they remove my listings without letting me at least see the complaint?

This is the site I allegedly copied:

When I bought my domain and put my site together I had not even heard of these people.

After looking at your site and doing 30 seconds of research it's obvious what your problem is. You copied, word for word, callnerds.com. You added in a few lines of your own content, but 90% of your site is stolen. I hope google wipes you from the internet.

Are you kidding me, I have never even went to their site until after the complaint was filed, where is the due process. My site is not evenly remotely like theirs and I did not copy anything from their site.

Being that you just joined this month, probably yesterday after I posted this, your probably associated with nerdsoncall.com. I have over 50 sites all ranked on the first page of google and I don't need to copy someome else to have good content.

What do you know, you did just join yesterday.. hmmm, you are a fraud.

It's obvious you joined after you saw this complaint, after it was indexed on the first page of google, to defend nerdsoncall.com, what's your association with the company. Usually people who join the same day a negative post was posted against a company is because they have some association with the company.

The complaint isn't from callnerds.com it is from nerdsoncall.com, you need to read the posts a little better, not scan. There is no complaint from callnerds.com it is from nerdsoncall.com

I'll tell you what, if you can tell me what I supposedly copied from nerdsoncall.com and it is actually a copy of theirs, I will personally remove my site, but again I went to their site and I don't see anything that was copied from their site and being the owner of oncallcomputernerds.com I took more than 30 seconds to check it out and there is nothing remotely the same.

Furthermore, if you can't point to a page where I copied "word for word" then you should apologize to me and disappear from this site.

No where in the notice you posted does it refer to nerdsoncall.com. It only mentions Nerds On Call. Both sites, nerdsoncall.com and callnerds.com are owned by companies named Nerds On Call. it looks like callnerds.com is the bigger company, which means they probably have more pull with Google to get your site removed from the index. Not to mention, callnerds.com is the only one you copied content from.

Here are some examples, I didn't spend more than 5 minutes on your site, to find this:

    http://oncallcomputernerds.com/10-fr...an-up-your-pc/
    http://www.callnerds.com/blog/10-fre...an-up-your-pc/

    http://oncallcomputernerds.com/use-g...get-organized/
    http://www.callnerds.com/blog/use-go...get-organized/

Your promise to remove your site if you were shown proof you copied content rings hollow when you limit it to content you copied from nerdsoncall.com. How about you take down your site because you were shown you copied ANYONE's content.
How long would it take to write your own material? Once your site was indexed your plagiarism was obvious. You're a single Dad, what kind of example are you showing your kid when you steal? How can you expect to teach lessons of responsibility and kindness when you are being duplicitous and malicious?

Setting up a new site, and launching a new business is difficult. Investing a few hours to write your own keyworded material is an important first step to being successful. If you do this then you could spend less time defending your stolen content and more time making money.

without a doubt the site has been very heavily plagiarised. If the OP had any sense they would have spent a couple days writing their own content or at least significantly rewriting the stolen content so that it would be unrecognisable from the original content
