    Mexican alternative medicine?

A friend of mine is going south of the border to get treatment for her arthritis. She's also heard that the food is better and more natural and so on. In addition, she's going to see a courandeyra or something like that who uses teas and magnets. Does anyone know if Mexican alternative medicine is a scam? Does it work? Or it depends on the health specialist?

Magnets? It's a phony, like Laetrile back in the 70s.

Healing magnet scams pop up pretty frequently, often surrounded by pseudo-science and technobabble that would make a Trekkie's ears melt.

The term is "curandera" which is roughly translated as "healer."

The food is definitely better in the country side. Also, life if much more relaxed and the people in general are very nice. Also, real Mexicans are not lazy, despite what the jokes tell you. They do like to take the siesta, but when you live in those temperatures, it's very hard to work under the heavy sun, plus most of them wake up very early.

There are definitely treatments that work. However, there are as many that are scams. The best thing to do is to go to someone recommended by someone you really trust AND that has taken the treatment. By the way, this is the best way to do anything in Mexico, not only health treatments.

I don't know about alternative medicine, but the Similares are very, very cheap and very effecting for minor, common things, like diarrhea, cold, etc. They charge about $2 dollars plus medicines, which are usually no more than $10 dollars.

Note that it's not a mistake, the consultation actually costs TWO dollars. And it's not like a shaman-witch-doctor thing. It's a very small consultation clinic with the basic things. Not a place to go if you have something serious, but for minor things, it's very good.

I always preferred to use natural remedies for health and refused tablets. Now I am actively involved in sports and I have muscle pain. I hear CBD oil is great for relieving pain. Is that true?

No one can know what health problem will arise tomorrow, so I recommend to try to buy CBD oil in reserve. It has a long shelf life and works in different directions for health. Just order cbd oil and put it in the first aid kit, I'm sure it will come in handy at any time.

Of course, health problems are inevitable. However, instead of investing to medicine and chemicals, it's better to choose natural products. Many of my friends are saying that CBD oils, which are a natural remedy, are great for pain relief, so I think I would be trying it.
