    Carl Sagan Stupidity

“Nothing in physics prevents you from traveling as close to the speed of light as you like.” - Cosmos

    How about the fuel requirements?

Today we have preliminary designs for ships to take people to the stars. (Project) Orion was designed to utilize explosions of hydrogen bombs against an internal plate . . .” - Ibid

"Orion and Daedalius might travel at 10 percent the speed of light. A trip to Alpha Centauri would then take 43 years.”

"If we wished, we could build Orion now."

What "internal plate" would be used as a shield against a nuclear explosion?

“If we must worship a power greater than ourselves, does it not make sense to revere the Sun and stars?” - page 243, Sagan suggesting worship of Sun and stars

“The systematic murder of such intelligent creatures (as whales) is monstrous.” - page 273

Of course nowhere does Sagan ever claim that the systematic murder of unborn babies is monstrous.

The left is sickening when it comes to the subject of abortion. Sickening.

"As an American I am not so shocked that Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize without any accomplishments to his name, but that America gave him the White House based on the same credentials." - Newt Gingrich

He said "nothing in THE LAWS OF PHYSICS...". He did not say that nothing IN GENERAL prevents you from traveling as close tot he speed of light as you like. The point he was trying to make (which you were clearly too stupid to grasp) was that an object can travel close to the speed of light but can never match or exceed it.

You tell us you apparently read the damn thing.

Are you really that stupid? You clearly missed the "IF in the text you quoted.

Oh grow up. Not every book written by every author needs to talk about abortion. If someone were to write a short passage about how much they liked their pet corn snake would you proceed to garble on "Of course nowhere does this author ever mention how some sick individuals feed pet dogs and cats to their snakes!"

I didn't think so. Fuck Off.
