New Embryo Test Screens for 6,000 Diseases (Implications?)

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/frontpage/...800745,00.html

Is this another small step towards the impending Designer Baby Revolution?

Tossing out male embryos to lower the genetic chance of passing down autism?

    Gattaca, anyone?

Where does it end, if ever?

Testing amniotic fluid has long been used to detect abnormalities. Many pregnant women over 35 have this test done. "Throwing out a fetus" sounds a little sensationalist to me.

    That's pretty cool I think.
I mean I really don't see any problem with the "designer baby" thing. I don't think I would do it personally, but I'm not opposed to other people doing it

I'm all for designer babies. The world is such an easier place when you realise that humans aren't special :)

Mutation, variation, change is the way of the world. Taking it into our own hands is not un-natural..its just a new form of natural...It will be different, but thats what nature does naturally...makes new things which are different, over and over and over again.

I look forward to the 'Brave New World' to come...
