Doctors say & do some stupid things

Alot of doctors out there are rude, inconsiderate and sometimes say the dumbest things. All those years of school seem like it didn't help some.

Here are a few doctors that members of my family have encountered:

    Dr. Sugarman
    222 NE Park Plaza
    Suite 100
    Vancouver, WA.
    360-254-8025

A question was asked to Dr. Sugarman about Preparation H. Dr. Sugarman's reponse was that he didn't know what Preparation H was? Seriously, a doctor that didn't know what Preparation H is. LOL.

    Dr. Pederson
    4805 NE Glisan
    Portland, OR.
    503-215-1111

Dr. Pederson is an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist. He examined a member of my family. After examining he stated "that the problem with the nose was beyond his expertise". Yet he is a specialist. Go figure.

I am sure someone could write ten volumes of books about all the stupid and ignorant things that patients have said, done, how little they know about even basic functions of the human body, anatomy, moronc things that they believe and how mis-informed they are.

You say "a lot of doctors" then give two examples.

Not really " a lot" would you say ????

Especially considering the USA has at least 400,000 + doctors.

There truly is a problem with doctors today. Just last weekend my friend took her daughter into the ER for what was obviously a strep throat..

They did the strep test and said, nope she doesn't have it.. A week later they are back in the ER.. another culture is done, it immediately comes back positive..

Their response was that they must have messed it up last week.. she asked why a long test wasn't done.. no response..

So now she has been billed for TWO ER visits because THEY screwed up.. do they even say "oops"? nope

I hate to point out the obvious, but a lab tech does the test (that is processes the sample and gives the results to the doctor). So how did a doctor screw this up exactly?

Also, The child may have been in such early stages, that the strep did not show up on the swab yet.

And thirdly doesn't your friend have a pediatrician or a family doctor? Why is she taking a child twice to an emergency room for something that is clearly not an emergency? No wonder insurance premiums are soaring.

    Just curious.

No I guess 2 is not alot, however, I can add to this thread whenever I see fit.

Here are a couple more examples:

    Dr. Polo
    4805 NE Glisan
    Portland, OR.
    503-215-1111
    OB/GYN

Dr. Polo is an is one of those inconsiderate little prick type of doctors. My mother had an appointment with Dr. Polo. She arrived on time, and waited to be seen. She was called and taken to an examination room. Dr. Polo never came in. Instead, he let my mother wait in the examination room for an hour. A nurse then told my mother that Dr. Polo had left the clinic to go attend to another patient in the hospital and was asked if she wanted to reshedule.

    Dr. Chester North
    4805 NE Glisan
    Portland OR.
    503-215-1111
    Internal Medicine

Dr. North is one of those doctors who seem like they really don't know what they are doing. Whatever the issue may be for internal medicine, Dr. North does improper examinations. He also has a tendancy to only talk to the patient instead of examining them. Dr. North is a waste of time & space.

You really don't pay attention do you? Even though I did say "a lot" in my opening sentence, I also did say here are a few doctors. Big difference wouldn't you say?

Moving on to other business, here is another doctor:

    Dr. Paul Yutan
    4805 NE Glisan
    Portland, OR.
    503-215-1111
    Internal Medicine

A member of my family went to see Dr. Yutan about a small ciste on their foot. After examining the patient he stated "If a part of your body is hurting, just smack it with a bible, it will feel better". Dr. Yutan must on some kind of Exorcist trip.

If it wasn't sad, I'd laugh out loud.
My kid fell snowboarding a couple of weeks ago and after a couple of days of difficulty breathing and bad chest pain, he went to the docs. The doc sent him to the hospital for chest x-rays.
After a 2 hour wait, the techs finally took the x-rays. The doc comes in and says, you must have bruised a rib because nothing remarkable shows up on the pics.
The doc gets buzzed, excuses himself and leaves the room. When he comes back in he tells my son that the tech took x-rays of the wrong side of his chest and to "hang-on, I'll be right back to get you back in for more pics and then I will re-evaluate your case and tell you what's going on with your ribs. Hang-on", he says again.
Three hours go by and the doc never came back in. My husband, who doesn't think like a mother, waited for 3 hours before he finally spoke up and asked the nurse when the doc was coming back in for those x-rays.
She goes, "Oh, he clocked out right after he left your son's room-you know, when he told you guys about the wrong x-rays. He won't be back till next Tuesday. Here's a script for pain."
Five hours total for basically extra strength Motrin.
So, my son and his father left the hospital and came home with nothing!
The doc nor the hospital ever called back to correct the error or to arrange to take new x-rays or to say "Opps, sorry".
We got a nice bill though.

    Ya, see ya next Tuesday.
