    Jews for Jesus

It seems obvious to me but thousands have been duped.

So let me clear it up for anyone unsure about this:

5.decent; respectable: They gave him a good Christian burial.

6.human; not brutal; humane: Such behavior isn't Christian.

    –noun
7.a person who believes in Jesus Christ; adherent of Christianity.

8.a person who exemplifies in his or her life the teachings of Christ: He died like a true Christian.

9.a member of any of certain Protestant churches, as the Disciples of Christ and the Plymouth Brethren.

    11.a male given name.
There it is then. If Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior then you are a CHRISTIAN by definition. Don't call yourself a Jew. Jews believe that there was a man, a spiritual philosopher named Jesus Christ. They do not believe that he was the Son of God. They are quite literal believing that there is only 1 God. No holy trinity, no divine Jesus - none of that.

"Jews for Jesus" maybe more of a misnomer than a scam per se but SO many people are taken in by this and go around misrepresenting themselves and their church by using this wording that I think it borders on 'scam' by proselytizing - that is convincing people not of their sect to become "Jews for Jesus" in some kind of indoctrination / conversion process.

Why? Tithes perhaps? I don't know really but when they came to my door (twice last fall actually - once I dismissed them out of hand but the second time I was prepared) I asked enough questions to explore 'what they were selling' and then laughed them off my porch for refusing to accept the definition of Christian.

I kinda laid into these girls at the end. I was so busy being amused I didn't even feel bad about it. I just kept thinking that this MUST be a joke and that the "You've been punked" cameras were going to come out of the bushes any moment. It went something like this:

    "So...you're a Christian."
    "I am a Jew wh--"
    "You are a Christian."
    "I am a Jew lik--"
"Christ is Divine; Chirst is Lord; Christ is the Savior and Son of God who died for your sins and you believe this yet you are a Jew?"
    "Yes of course, you see--"
"You are, quote, a person who believes in Jesus Christ and/or a person who exemplifies in his or her life the teachings of Christ"
    "Yes of course--"
"And you do not see the contradiction here?"
    "There is no contradic--"

"OK, time to leave, thanks for the laughs, bye now. Buh-bye."

I only remember laughing at the concept (and members) of "Jews for Jesus..."

Of course I was (and am) a "card carrying" Member of "Jews for Jerry" (Garcia that is). Chances are he won't rise again, but I still do shrooooms occasionally...just in case...:spin2:

Here's a piece of another little ditty that has a special place in my heart that maybe you'll appreciate to be reminded of as well:

"Mama, mama many worlds I've come since I first left home.

Goin' home, goin' home, by the waterside I will rest my bones,
Listen to the river sing sweet songs, to rock my soul."
